I'm not sure why this is being done. What difference will it make if we decode them now or later?
I believe.. If you dig up a decoded may within the 30 days it will use an old spot you can get to via a rune. After the 30 days it will need redecoded, On which it will give you a new spot.

Hmm then I think I want to make use of my rune library while I still can. :)

I am not opposed to doing some work but give me a tool to use so it isnt just a frustrating clicking exercise! Making a local map and plotting an X has possibilities if the map you make and the treasure map were closer in size.
This!

I tested out a level 1 map on TC just now, and spent 20 min just trying to pinpoint where that needle was supposed to point. Finding the general area was quick - in fact this sort of map was the thing I most enjoyed when we did the turkey event some time ago. But tilting your head and going pixel hunting is not so fun. Sakkarah I think had a message where it told you how far or not far away you were. That would be great when we now see our whole T-map library obsolete.

Btw - in the chest there was an alacrity scroll, yay! Reason to do levl1 now:)

Edit: Oh. Chalk me up to one of those that like NOT having to wade through tons of reagents and scrolls. When I do the lvl 6 maps I always get the feeling I am peeking into someones trash barrel.

I'm finding a good way to locate the spot is by comparing the map to the zoomable maps on Stratics.
And I just did a level 1 in Ter Mur, I got gargoyle armor in the chest (someone asked about that) a recipe and an alacrity. Guardians were mongbats and clockwork scorpions.
I've started to document stuff. But the only full guardians listing I have is for level 6s, which is why I'm doing 1s :D
For those people who race through the guardians to get to the chest. Loot the guardians!!

If you can find alacrity scrolls in level one t-maps now, there is certainly no reason to upgrade the loot further. Alacrity scrolls are both useful and valuable...
Whats missing is some solid numbers of what the difference is...if alacrity scrolls are 1 in 1000, then that is too low for instance.

What I am saying is that the spread between level 1 and 6 maps should not be as big as it once was. As the difficulty of level 1 maps are now closer to level 6 maps, as its equal work to find both.

As she stated, she spent 20 minutes finding a level 1 map...in 20 minutes you could easily defeat a high level spawn.

This is definitely nice news that lower level ones are boosted. Thanks for checking this out.

Why loot the guardians? Do they give special loot?

The difficulty of level 1 maps is nowhere near the difficulty of level 6. Not even remotely...

Ah yes, so you're saying that 20 minutes of work is no where near as difficult as 20 minutes of work.

Gotcha.

Usual Llewen logic.

I'm saying that mongbats are a lot easier to kill than ancient wyrms. That would be "Usual Llewen logic". Indeed it would... ;)

Which is the same as before, what has been changed is the time it takes to FIND the treasure and it has been increased the same for any level map.

Before it was (just as an example

Level 1 maps = 1 difficulty to find + 1 difficulty to fight = 2
Level 6 maps = 1 difficulty to find + 11 difficulty to fight = 12

So 6 times as hard

Now its

Level 1 maps = 12 difficulty to find + 1 difficulty to fight = 13
Level 6 maps = 12 difficulty to find + 11 difficulty to fight = 23

So now the combined difficulty between the two are only a factor less than 2, instead of 6.

And the treasure has been increased for every level map. You just want more, as usual. Before level 1 t-maps were essentially worthless. Now you can get some very nice items from every level of map. As far as I'm concerned the loot has scaled in much the same way as the difficulty has.

I agree. I think the loot is now appropriate per level. Previously I would only do level 5 and 6 maps. Now I will do them all. :)

...

The resizeable and zoomable atlas in the EC might be a big help as well... just sayin' :)
Yes - and Carto works in 2D as an extra help. My problem though, and one I possibly share with many is that the map and pin is so tiny tiny. I wish the T-map was zoomable as well. Maybe this might help me, haven`t tested.

It`s also a training issue. My next 2 maps didn`t take 20 min to find, only 10min each:)

Edit: I tried the virtual magnifier glass, and it works in 2D at least.

Enable Hardware Death Effect (Default: On) - Enables the hardware accelerated death effect when dead. Turning this off may resolve graphical issues on certain hardware configurations.
I just wanted to say thanks for this. It has made a huge difference. It doesn't look as good as it used to with it on, but fps are much better with it off and I'm less laggy, and I'm not getting the video corruption issues.
