Whether the DF was lured in on purpose or the warrior was simply being chased we'll probably never know but that still sucks.

Might I suggest a bag of sending to send your uninsured valuables to the bank before logging out?

Or the camping skill if your template has room for it.

I had nothing on me of any value but that wasn't the point.

This about covers it all. Never know whether or not it was intentional. Maybe he was running to save himself from the DF. For all you know the warrior you claimed to lure on you probably died too. And since you logged out it could have been the fault of just about anyone else that could have been there and not the warrior.

Of course your experience is why people need to be careful when logging out inside the gauntlet. Camping skill, look around and make sure you're not about to get caught by the DF. Don't leave uninsured items on your body. You accept the risks when you log out in a place like that without proper planning.

Bag of Sending does not work in the gauntlet area:(

Heh, I love the way WoW is mentioned, as though everyone who plays it is irrevocably a ******, from the minute they hit 'install' to the minute they hit 'uninstall'.

That aside, that's what happens if you log out wrong in a dangerous area. I might have only returned to the game recently, but I know who the Dark Father is, and I can see why logging out wrong (and thereby remaining in the game world for what is it, five minutes?) would be unwise when he's nearby.

As was said, if you have anything you want to keep, log out properly or (where applicable - another post said this doesn't work in the Gauntlet) use bags of sending. Camping materials really don't take up much room, if recall / sacred journey also don't work in the gauntlet. We won't ever know if the Warrior did it on purpose or even if it was him, since the act wasn't seen firsthand - but it happened nonetheless.

Sorry to hear it happened, but it was preventable, and not just by whomever got you eaten by the Dark Father.

I didn't have anything worth saving on me so wasn't as if i had lost anything, and yes your all right anything you need to keep insure it.
I was just so angry, even the cat got a kick lol.
To be perfectly honest i don't have a clue as to who or how the DF ended up in there, could have been someone running for their life or it could have been another camper trying to take out the competition.

As for logging out don't think there is a right/wrong way to log out its pretty much quite these days, not even 100 camping skill will save your butt. its all a case of hope and prey

Actually JoaT camping is enough to start a campfire with kindling (which might be an issue getting), then with a bedroll, you can insta-log, which saves the getting killed while your character's timing out.
Although I did hear that camping's broken, but I don't know if that's so.

Actually there is. Get some kindling, a sleeping bag, go in the farthest corner in the room, hide, and keep hitting that kindling until it ignites. Even works at 0.0% if you just keep pressing last object.

Just be prepared to run out of the room every time you log in in case the DF is in there.

May I suggest not logging out in dangerous areas in the future?
