Option for Exceptional Damage Bonus!

Am I all alone in wanting an option to add or not add the exceptional damage bonus to items crafted?

Has this been lobbied for before and I just missed it?

I'm finding it pretty ridiculous that I've spent time 120/100'ing my crafters only to remake more crafters of lesser skill to avoid the exceptional bonus that defaults to items eating up 1 out of 5 properties.

I'd like to be able to craft exceptional items with 500 Weight and 0 Mods on them prior to the imbueing process!

Am I all alone here or does this seriously need to be looked at?

It's absolutely asinine to me that I'm using an inferior crafter to craft items I deem desirable.

I do not want DI on any of my weapons..NONE!

No, you're not alone.

As to whether anyone's brought that up, I don't know. Try posting that in "Ask the Devs", and see if you get a response.

Allowing players to choose ALL 5 mods going from 450 to 500 is in no way a deal breaker especially given 500 has already been declared the ceiling. This is not such a large window.

The only difference is allowing players to decide what 5th property they want placed the item rather than having it automatically default 1 of the 5 via the exceptional bonus.

As far as this being an unbalancing issue...I think it's a non-issue.

You don't think there is something just a little wrong that I prefer to use a blacksmith with 80 skill over my Legendary Blacksmith with 100 Arms Lore because I don't want the exceptional bonus?

As far as I'm concerned my 80 skill Blacksmith is better than my 120 Blacksmith.

I guess my argument boils down to this : My blacksmith of 80 skill should not be able to do something that my blacksmith 120 skill can't.

I certaintly do not think this is asking for alot and I do not believe it to be balancing issue being that the cap is already at 500.

I must say it does not seem right that a 120 smith can only make weapons that are exceptionally sharp-DI, and not just of superior quality.(better balanced, exc..) id say i am for exc w out di option. All my imbues have di anyway......

Good to see I'm not all alone in my thinking...

Currently I'd rather have 5 mods at 450 than 4 plus the DI default at 500.

Hopefully this will get addressed and we're all able to craft 5 mods of our choice onto a 500 weight weapon.

80 Blacksmith>120 Blacksmith.rolleyes:

I think it's an excellent idea. I never considered that someone might want to have a sub-gm crafter just to avoid the nuisance of being legendary. :p

So I guess my GM Tinker should be able to make a trap box that only does 5 damage just because my sub-GM Tinker can? The theory doesn't make sense but I do agree with the point. There should be an option to add the DI or not.

Answer is yes. Your GM Tinker should be able to make a less powerful trap and a more powerful trap, whichever he or she chooses. If someone of lesser knowledge can do it surely someone with even more knowledge and experience can do the same.

Argument makes perfect sense.

Why are you using mediocre crafters under the current rules? Can't you use a plain NPC/loot weapon in most cases?

Runics, I'd think....
Yeah Fink I burn through alot of low end runic hammers in search of Elemental damage weapons.:thumbup1:

For the templates and gear I run I don't want DI on any of my weapons which is why I use a smith of lesser skill level when crafting with runics.

It's really a shame that my Legendary Blacksmith doesn't have more autonomy and I personally think it's ass backwards. :sad3:

I'd like to see it fixed.:thumbup1:

Until then I'm going stick with 5 Mods of my choice at 450.

I also would like to be able to craft weapons with no DI on them. Count on my vote.
