Idea to bring back PvP

Alright, I know everyone is pissed about how some people have good gear while others can't afford it. The fact of the matter is, Siege is just like Atlantic, minus trammel and insurance. That's how it's always been. The awesome thing about siege used to be that people didn't give a **** about gear and that created a great PvP environment. I don't care what any of you say, being geared out doesn't matter as much as you think when you're fighting 3:1 odds. That survival skill depends completely on the player - the gear just gives you the mana to do it.

Now, I don't see a reason why a bunch of you can't start having fun PvPing again by running overwhelming numbers. I used to be in VmP for a long time, and yeah, we had people dying, but they'd just go get their GM armor, 1/2s, pots, and they'd be right back out. I had a lot of fun getting gank kills on people like forsaken and kage, and once I joined up and equipped better, I enjoyed fighting tons of GM armor PvPers.

I don't mind fighting numbers, and I know sure as hell that you guys don't mind running numbers. So why not? The only thing faction gear really did was **** everyone off (because they overreacted to it) and make them think they had to wear it in order to PvP. That is true in geared out 1v1 fights, but that's pretty much it. I say - get off your periods already and start having fun for your 13 dollars a month.

I'm not a "consensual pvper" like most of the guys you're talking about, but as a disarm thief I regularly attack people out in the world, I see pvp action just about every night. If you want pvp action go out in the world and actually play, don't sit in the bank or safe in your house whining in general chat. If you're afraid to leave the house with your armor, for fear of losing it PUT ON SOMETHING CHEAPER, maybe use your siege bless on an arty and risk one other piece or so, but if you can't afford to lose it you shouldn't be wearing it... If i went out in a suit full of doom artys and died I wouldn't be whining here on the boards that doom artys should be cheaper because of that....

The fact is - TnT is the only other "PvP" guild that exists. We all want things changed on siege, but we all know it's easier to hit the powerball than to get things changed.. so why put PLAYING THE GAME on hold waiting for these changes?

I guarantee you if TnT put on ****ty armor and threw away their "e-gos" for the sake of having fun - they'd enjoy the game a lot more. If you're scared of losing a suit, quit factions, throw on some non-hide/stealth skills, get stocked on pots/apples/bolas/regs/GM(or imbued) armor, hop in vent/map, and call some targets.

The key to bringing SP back to life is population and action. Once stratics blows up with threads like "LOL I RAIDED YOUR SPAWN AND GOT A 120 MYST" or "TnT SCARES BFF OUT OF LUNA" I'm sure vet players lurking these forums will be interested in reactivating their accounts. Look at Masumatek, he wants to come back, but not if it's DEAD.

There are enough people on this shard yet to do this. I've been on almost every night - where are the rest of you?

Crunch.....who are you talking about ego? These posts shows nothing but your ego on this game. Sorry to bust your bubbles.....but most of us have a life for the summer. Haven't you realized....the weather is great and most of us who can afford it is on vacation or even working.

For TNT....we only have few that even PVPs and we log on at different times. Mook logs on sporadic throughout the day, Elvis only logs on around 11pm eastern, Shay logs on in the morning, and I haven't even been on the game for a month or so.

Don't start posting like TNT is scared to PVP, we just don't have anyone on to PVP. BFF doesn't even try to PVP when they are running solo or outnumbered either. Well....take that back, BFF does have 1 or 2 members who will. When I did log on alot couple months ago, Kage would fight solo all the time. Sakey would only PVP if Kage was on. I think Sakey knew he would probably die without Kage. Either way, their duo is tough on the field.

I guess now that schools out and your able to stay up late, your ready to play UO 24/7. Parents must have lifted your game restriction during the summer. Here's note.....get a summer job!!!

Oh...I forgot about Neo, he logs on sporadically also. Only other on that list that PVPs that joined TNT right before I left was Sprago. All the others only logs on once or so.....unless they are playing more now. Either way.....I'm not aware of any of them being **** talkers and none of the names you listed even portray an ego type behavior. Maybe something changed in the last month or so.

Crunch.....no, I didn't miss the point of the thread. You posted about noone to PVP and then insinuated TNT having an ego and scared to PVP because of losing their gear. Hmm.....what did I miss? Crunch.....your correct, I don't know you that well. I only know you from the time when you and I were in VMP together long time ago. Since you've came back.....you've posted few times ranting about how ppl scared to PVP. Maybe ppl don't find PVP fun on Siege at this current moment. To be honest.....theirs never a 1 vs 1. It's all about who has the numbers and I've already stated BFF only has 1, maybe 2 players who would fight outnumbered. You posted like BFF is running around and everyone is scared to fight. Maybe true when you guys are running in force which could be the superior force on the field.

Mage mysticism was pretty overpowering when I was playing. Sakey was able to redline me with one combo. Sakey and Kage was able to drop me instantly with zero chance of living. I've read that mysticism was supposed to be nerfed a little, but then again, not for sure. Seeing you pick up mysticism only tells me that skill is still overpowering. Members in BFF choosed temps that produces the most amount of damage and at the fastest rate. TNT chooses temps that are more defensive.

You used to wrestle.....you should know that there are defensive wrestlers and offensive wrestlers. Both good at their style of wrestling. In every sport, there are defensive and offensive teams/players. Defensive or Offensive can both get you wins.

Seems to me.....you just want ppl to play your style of game instead of their style.

Olidammara and Varrius are not TnT.

Krystal's playtime is rare, I play a thief and tamer and rarely even try to pvp anymore, plus have started my own business recently and am working like a dog. Up until about a week ago, Nadal and Dantrag were played by one person. Jax is new to TnT. Elvis is on vacation for the next 10 days.

That leaves Sprago, Dantrag and Neo who pvp with any regularity.

There are a number of other TnT/TnA playing, but most don't really PvP or are working characters to do so. Its hard to keep everyone interested with the shard this dead. Until we see some serious action from the devs, I highly doubt anything will change. They don't seem to understand how serious the situation is here. =/

Serious action from the devs is the only way you'll log in? (That's our problem....) The devs will NEVER take serious action, FFS how long has it been since anything was changed.. since the Siege Bless option was added? God knows that took ****ing 5 minutes to code (but in EA's case, 5 years).

Just saying, siege is done for good with an attitude like that.

Spell plague was nerfed a little. Its still a very nice mage complementary skill.
It is not over powering.
If anything is in need of f nerfing it is stealth (to much benifits for as little skill that has to be devoted) or archery( 40 ssi balanced bows with 2 hit spells?)

Either way when i was on yesterday ran around for a bit made a few kills farmed a little silver. Ill continue to log into siege and make my runs. If there is pvp great if not o well there is always tomorrow. Then i log Gl

Yep it's my tamer tamer killer. I was running around on Kage but I saw Neo stealthing around with his Tank *cough* I mean Greater Dragon so I then logged on my minax stealther... RP still attempted to gank me with Neo dismounting/mortal spamming. I then hid and actually prepared my self for a fight. I came out swinging and killed RP even though I had been dismounted, and mortaled again...

RP cried, and then logged on Virgil where they then tried to "Gank again" but this time The Rebel also joined in on the gank. I continued to play around for a few minutes then decided to leave.

The problem is you got destroyed by a BFF stealther who's played a mage for about 9 years now.... That right there should show you that stealth is wayyyyyy over powering in the hands of someone who understands the mechanics of the game.

Yes I do understand what you're saying about me running a stealther. But the fact is the only reason I was running the character was because of the tamer and I have said several times now in chat that until I see "PvPers" You will see me on that character.

For the last few months I have seen nothing out of your guild other than buying dread war horse letting me know that several of your members planned on rocking dreads...

The reason behind me playing that character.

Sprago - Gargoyle + Super Dragon 95% of the time.
Supperman - Always running a dreadmare.
Neo - Always running stealth dismount with a Super Dragon....
Dentrag - always on a dreadmare.

The rest of TNT - a lot of you are also using vollems when you play.

PS. I can judge the template and play it. I will be the first to admit that the "template is ****ing over powered hands down." The difference is I know it's over powered... The rest of you cry adapt.

Main problem is BFF doesn't normally run stealth, but you and your crew do.

It's one thing to experiment with it to spice things up and another to rely on it as a crutch.

If you have to resort to the "well you guys did it last night so that means you can't pancake at us for doing it all the time" then you shouldn't have said anything at all.

Hey a few of us are back from warcraft and we are happy to see that there are some pvpers still here. Its really not hard to keep geared if you're in factions and farming whats needed. We have to rework templates and obviously suit up but we plan to be on the scene some in the coming months.

I had a thread going regarding buy backs so any of you active faction guys like bff and whoever have contacts please leave them here for us.

Jax, Vain and myself just returned a week ago and were in tnt only because my brother held the account of Nadal for the last 5 years while I played warcraft..we wont be tnt much longer but we appreciate their friendship to Dantrag (my brother) and will always be courteous to them. Planning to speak with Kat before our departure from that guild entirely.

And none of our toons are even remotely near pvp worthiness at this point I might add so we really arent much of a threat.

Yes we do Kelmo but thank you for showing interest...We actually are pretty efficient gamers and a tight crew but we are looking forward to adding to that in all roles...

I have to agree it's action and population. Even from a non pvping point of view, it's boring to see the same ol people constantly. There isn't even anyone to steal from or craft for, so personally there isn't much point.
I reactivated both accounts recently and will probably drop back to one or none. I have seen only one person and they were chopping wood and hid from me....FROM ME. That's pretty sad.
Most get the rush of pvp, well I get the rush from the fear, LOL. Hasn't been any of that.

I personally don't think it has to do with the looting. If people spent the time gearing back up instead of crying about what they lost, they would be back in the fight.
I don't know I could go on a total rant, but again not worth it.
I would like to see some rp, but not if it's going to be with the same 10 people all the time.

If I recall.... the problem with advertising and shelf presence wasn't for lack of EA wanting to do it but rather, the stores refusing to carry a game they no longer saw sales potential in. Same with time cards. No one puts 10+ year old games on the front shelf.

Ok im not wanting to get in the middle of this but i do want to point out that if any template needs to be "enhanced" it is the mage templates. You might not notice it here because the population issues,but mages are at a disadvantage. Mages are by far harder to play and dont have the advantages some of the other classes have.
You may not want to hear this, and i dont know how long you have been playing. BUT I would like to think you would be able to compete on a dexxer template vs any mage on the shard (tammers are questionable).
I KNOW I COULD. Its 300x as easy to play a dexxer.

BLAAH BLAAH BLAHH MAGES ARE TO HARD TO KEEL. Maybe you should pull your heads out of the ground and actually learn to play the game. THen you wouldnt have to listen to the constant verbal asault that comes with fighting like a vagina...

I dont want to hear my life revolves around uo and thats why i am a better player. because if you even attempt to apply towards me your way off, but that dont mean that i dont want to improve and learn the harder more skill required templates.

Aw, is Monolith back to "not playing" UO again? What's the matter, realizing how horrible you still are on a stealth template forced you back under that rock?

It's funny how all you can think to do on a game forum, is type some ridiculously false insults about ones real life. I'd have to say that's irony at its finest.

Ok im not wanting to get in the middle of this but i do want to point out that if any template needs to be "enhanced" it is the mage templates. You might not notice it here because the population issues,but mages are at a disadvantage. Mages are by far harder to play and dont have the advantages some of the other classes have.
You may not want to hear this, and i dont know how long you have been playing. BUT I would like to think you would be able to compete on a dexxer template vs any mage on the shard (tammers are questionable).
I KNOW I COULD. Its 300x as easy to play a dexxer.

BLAAH BLAAH BLAHH MAGES ARE TO HARD TO KEEL. Maybe you should pull your heads out of the ground and actually learn to play the game. THen you wouldnt have to listen to the constant verbal asault that comes with fighting like a vagina...

I dont want to hear my life revolves around uo and thats why i am a better player. because if you even attempt to apply towards me your way off, but that dont mean that i dont want to improve and learn the harder more skill required templates.

I have said many times, I wish I could play a mage, ranged attack, huge damage and quick heals...geez they have it all.

For the first 4 years I played the game I was on dial up and just couldnt play a mage, cast spell = lock up so I did the point and click thing, yes understand that playing a mage is way harder, but for around 3 years on Chessy (sporting a item blessed spear) I killed everybody, most mages recalled out on sight. Its been a while but I think Cadul was one of the best back then and he would run away rather then fight me So I had alot of fun killing everyone, I could care less that is was easy, hell this is a game right? Well the came along 5/6 dagger casting and I hated pvp for a long time.


I think right now we have the best balance between dexxer and mage right now.

Sun.....I've played a mage for the longest until 2003. With always having to take a break from the game and due to work and dealing with all the changes year after year....I just don't have to the time keep up with all the mechanics. You kiddos rule.....I could care less if I'm great at a game. It's ironic who the ppl on this game always gloat about i'm the best and how everyone sucks at this game. Even when I did play a mage when I came back recently.....only time I died was from dismount and all kill. The first month I was back.....most of BFF was playing the tamer/dread template. Hmm....ironic with all the crying about taming, hehe.

Again....its hard to know when some of your opinions are what is best for Siege or just to boost your ego on this game. Maybe you should pull your head out of the ground and just realized that some ppl are not good at playing a mage. Hmm....maybe thats why there are so many different temps to play.
