With so many small unstackable classic blackrock floating around, I do not see why a rare imbuing resource was used in mass amounts, instead of the old style that so very many player have requested a use for within this event. :gun:

Also if all the new found "classic" style that was found as loot were to now be stackable, I feel two issues could have been solved at once. As many players have also requested it be stackable. Allows many items to removed in one fell-swoop.

Or at least make it so 10 or so normal blackrock can be crushed into a Crystalline one or something.

I agree. I'm also having second thoughts on if I really want a bane dragon after all. I'm not sure I want a pet that requires a rare food.

I agree with you guys it should be the normal black rock for this quest, the only problem with doing that is that if they spawn on the monsters it will be really hard to spot them in all the loot, they could make it spawn the big black rock on the spawn and you should still be able to hand in the mineable small ones.

Who said he's using the crystalline blackrock to make the stew?
The fact that both sides are collecting Crystalline Blackrock has not escaped some of us.
I was a little dismayed to find that it decays.

Didn't a dev post saying that there would be other ways of getting the food, after the event?

Mark I had thought about that possibility. Like the strangers collecting blackrock that lead to the destruction of Haven. There WILL be a bad results ANYTIME blackrock is amassed in large sums, but still no matter the "STORY ARC", it is bad form to flood the market with this rare type of resource when the old type "seems" to be able to be used in the same since.

Also it is called "Blackrock Stew"
Most things that have a name in front of stew tend to contain that as the primary ingredient.
Rabbit Stew, Chicken Soup, & so forth.

Well, the jury is still out on whether or not I have flooded the market. There are people saying that I'm not making enough of it drop to buy stew.

I'm not saying blackrock stew doesn't have blackrock in it.

I have a plan for blackrock but making blackrock drop would just instantly break the event... no one would need to do the event, they would just go to the bank and get their big pile of blackrock and buy 1,000,000,000 bowls of stew and then the market would be flooded with dragon stew.

PLEASE do NOT add more. I have collected more than 300 Crystalline Blackrock from this event so far and felt the need to speak. I just hit the max points after three days but had no trouble getting plenty of blackrock. In fact I am now selling blackrock stew. More would only worsen the effect I do believe.
Sometime getting things easy ruins events just as much.
...On a side note.. DAMN man do the Bane have to have so many HP. The Ophidains have much lower stats and take double damage from the slayers. The Bane dragon riders spit breath weapons. I am not really suggesting the Bane to be easier, but maybe an Ophidian Berserker or ten in the mix to cull the speed of slaughtering them. If these Higher End Mobs all dropped crystalline blackrock, that may give a edge to the drops.

**After re-reading my post is may seem like I am trying to corner the market. but for the record I make much more money off my imbuing stock thus I seen the flooding of this small market that is getting much more competitive as time goes on.**

There's also "Irish Stew".

Most, but not all: (no where near a complete list, but some of these are pretty funny especially if they really did have these ingredients)

Welsh Rabbit (welsh rarebit) - No rabbit
Horseshoe Sandwhich - No horseshoe
Toad in the hole (an english dish) - no toad

Perhaps Blackrock stew is so named for the "explosive" effects it may have on the gastrointestinal tract?

I've tried gold, silver, small pieces of blackrock, crystalline blackrock, bones, ophidian rations, silvery snake skins and nothing works!

Is this a wind up? :p

Trash cans remove items in 2 minute swoops.

If it was normal blackrock all the creatures would be dropping it, and you wouldn't be able to sell the stuff you're hording for mass amounts of gold anyway.

How many times does someone have to say the normal blackrock has a use before you get it? It takes down dark wisp shields. That is a use. Just because you refuse to see it and are hording blackrock in hopes that someday the devs will make it so you can sell it and get rich like during the Shadowlord event doesn't remove the fact that it already has a use.

Aha! I did question this a few days ago, Glad I was thinking along the right lines.

I think that, for me, the concern is/was that crystalline blackrock had a "purpose" already, whereas other forms did not (despite it being said a while ago that they would, along with OPHIDIAN RATIONS and SNAKE SKINS, hence why they were added to the drop pool again).

However, it seems that Mark has thought about it already and has a reasoning behind the decision not to use "other" forms of blackrock. So whatever happens, at least someone paid attention :D

It is great that tasty treats work too but honestly this blackrock stew to bond them is not the best of ideas. It should at least allow you to feed normal food after you get it bonded.

The simple issue is after this event people will want to trade and acquire dragons. Unless you can start to craft blackrock stew with cooking skill and blackrock issues will arise. tasty treats may work but they may not due to the purpose being a stat boost. Not to mention the quests to get them are a hassle. I bet ea fixes tasty treats and then we are really screwed long term with these dragons.
