these are like super hell hounds 300+ hp wow anyone tamed a pack yet? They only take up one slot
Will that delete even stabled ones? Haven't tamed any myself, But I was going to.. *shifty eyes*I just want to give you a heads up, Those hellhounds were not supposed to be tamable. It is not an exploit to tame them, but any that are made into pets are basically going to be deleted in a couple of days. Enjoy them while you have them but they are just too powerful to stay in as a pet in their current form.
Yes. Sorry, I just wanted you all to know because I saw people getting pretty excited... not that I blame them for being excited but 5 of those dogs with 300 hp each and pack instinct giving them 25% bonus damage would just be... well... not good. Will that delete even stabled ones? Haven't tamed any myself, But I was going to.. *shifty eyes*
They weren't supposed to be tameable...which is why the publish went forward without checking that, I assume? :/ lol come on ... it was on Origin for weeksI just want to give you a heads up, Those hellhounds were not supposed to be tamable. so what your saying is....your going to kill our dogs?I just want to give you a heads up, Those hellhounds were not supposed to be tamable. It is not an exploit to tame them, but any that are made into pets are basically going to be deleted in a couple of days.
I sure am glad I got rid of 5 of my pets to make room as well...Man, I just cleared out my stables to get them. Figures.
Ouch.I sure am glad I got rid of 5 of my pets to make room as well...Man, I just cleared out my stables to get them. Figures.
lol get PETA!so what your saying is....your going to kill our dogs?
Umm, no lol. Just under 1 week before it went to all other shards. 06/15/2010 . I was too busy killing Ophidians to bother trying to tame a Hellhound lol.it was on Origin for weeks.
No. Its like 5 regular dragons, all doing +125% of their base damage... thats insane. Talk about an unfair advantage.Since some of us ditched are bonded dogs for these, could you just turn them to tamable off? and them who have them have another rare pet for the event?
Like the above guys said some of us got rid of our old dogs because we assumed this was ok since you have been testing this publish for how long now?
I say just turn them off to be tamable and call it a day.
ah. felt like weeks . well, I was testing it on Test Center too, that must have been it.Umm, no lol. Just under 1 week before it went to all other shards. 06/15/2010 . I was too busy killing Ophidians to bother trying to tame a Hellhound lol.
Why not just make them 2 slot tameables? and reduce their firebreath damage somewhat.I just want to give you a heads up, Those hellhounds were not supposed to be tamable. Alas! Someone actually gets it, glad you guys never overlooked this, i had mad visions of them fully trained pwnin in felYes. Sorry, I just wanted you all to know because I saw people getting pretty excited... not that I blame them for being excited but 5 of those dogs with 300 hp each and pack instinct giving them 25% bonus damage would just be... well... not good.
For me, they were pets I probably should have gotten rid of anyway ;P. But, honestly, silver steeds had no real advantage when they were made, did they? Ancients and the rest? Yeah, huge advantage, haha. But from what I recall, steeds were just like mares, only difference was color. Don't know why they were deemed "illegal."i still can't believe some tamers got rid of pets for these though. what happened to common sense, did it give way to greed? you'd think people learn by now that unintended tames are never legit (silver steeds, ancient wyrms, paragons, yellow EM pets, etc), why gamble on this too?
insted of these hell houds, put some kind of feline pet.. there are very few of them :/I do want to put out a new improved hellhound, and I intend to make it tamable, but it won't be this one.
How about I was under the impression they were special pets that could be tamed in the event like the bane dragon. It's not greed if someone thinks they are part of the event and can be tamed also.i still can't believe some tamers got rid of pets for these though. what happened to common sense, did it give way to greed? you'd think people learn by now that unintended tames are never legit (silver steeds, ancient wyrms, paragons, yellow EM pets, etc), why gamble on this too?
Exactly. Two new creatures spawn near slasher: bane dragons and hell hounds. They should be left in and left alone and when the event is over they are rare just like the dread mare.
by use taming skill on it and check what happen?Exactly. Two new creatures spawn near slasher: bane dragons and hell hounds. How was anyone supposed to know that one was tamable, one was not?
Both could be tamed using the taming skill, but we were only intended to tame the one.by use taming skill on it and check what happen?Exactly. Two new creatures spawn near slasher: bane dragons and hell hounds. How was anyone supposed to know that one was tamable, one was not?
What does taming these have to do with greed? It went through testing, how did we know it wasn't intended? What do these have to do with your bad example of other pets?i still can't believe some tamers got rid of pets for these though. what happened to common sense, did it give way to greed? you'd think people learn by now that unintended tames are never legit (silver steeds, ancient wyrms, paragons, yellow EM pets, etc), why gamble on this too?
Wow. Ok, where to start. Are you familiar with the concept of pack instinct? When pets are grouped with other pets who share their pack instinct, their damage is increased. This is why people use packs of 5 frenzied ostards, packs of five hell cats, and packs of five hell hounds.so yes, it's greed once you tamed more than one.
you so missed the point there buddy, but actually that brings up a good point, if you lored them first, then you'd know that something was off. thanks.Wow. Ok, where to start. Dozens and dozens of these hell hounds spawn in the area. Anyone who wants to can easily nab a pack, or two packs, or three packs, etc. without interrupting anyone else's gameplay. There's not even an incentive for greediness.
Why tame five? Because this is the only way to reap the full benefits of pack instinct. Greed? Wow.

And the fact that they spawned near new tamables, who just happened to be more powerful versions of dread mares - mobs that most folks already consider the most over-powered mob in the game - did not cross you mind? Wow. You truly have superhuman powers of deduction.you so missed the point there buddy, but actually that brings up a good point, if you lored them first, then you'd know that something was off. thanks.Wow. hell, once i saw this post, i knew something was wrong with those, and once i lored one to see myself, i knew it was an error, and didn't bother taming. common sense, really. these issues have been prevalent throughout UO's history.
I am sure the first people that lored dreads had the same thought and they are still around. Thanks.if you lored them first, then you'd know that something was off. thanks.
two wrongs don't make a right... even the dread warhorse/bane dragon don't completely outclass their slot tier or the one above.I am sure the first people that lored dreads had the same thought and they are still around. Thanks.
Not a bad idea.hell, i'd say just bump these to 2-slot, and have them be the hell hound pack leader we lost ages ago. but that would cause whining too.rolleyes:
