I feel the same way, so I voted "No."Unless it is an organized 1v1 or 2v2 type thing with a level playing field equipment wise. If it comes down to the equipment people are running with or overwhelming numbers or whatever instead of individual or small group tactics then it is just lame, in my opinion.
I like 1v1s, 2v2s are also fun, but anything more then that with equal numbers is pretty irritating. its just a trickle down effect. Soon as the other side loses a player, its like playing dominoes. 5v5, 5v4, 5v3, 5v2, 5v1, win.Not particularly.

While I used to love uo pvp back in the day I would say pvp in uo today pales in comparison to what daoc and then wow offered in their prime.pvp in other games is kind of crappy.
Repeatedly.pre AOS I couldn't wait to come home and PvP. Since then, PvPing is about as fun as stabbing myself in the eye.
That's what I love about UO pvp. Let's say you and one other guy are fighting 8-9 people. You can still use environment to your advantage and as long as you have good templates you can actually kill some of them.Well... as long as you're not impossibly outnumbered and/or being chased by speed hackers it's fun.
There is no 1v1 combat in Felucca though. Which sucks.
I love all the people that are crying how pvp sucks now...pvp is fine, you just suck at it!
If you have played UO for any amount of time (12 years here) then you know that the only constant is change. Currently with all the new skills and Imbuing, plus faction arties...you have been given the ability to play almost any template one can think of.
Post on these boards that its dark at night and 50 people will tell you 200 ways it's not...
What your saying is that you're lazy and want to just turn on UO and play. I exclusively PvP. I dont PvM at all. So what you are saying is complete false. Granted it takes 6-7 days to get a toon completely done. This is much better than the endless hours of gathering regs, killing lichs, and w/e else was needed before AoS. Classic shards arn't coming back, thank god. This game is more balanced now than ever. No other game can you get away from or even kill people out numbered. PvP in this game has always been the best, and will continue to be so.That's exactly why it's not fun. I need more than my kilt, some regs and skill to PvP.
I'm against the idea that people are forced to craft and PvM more than they PvP if they wish to be self sufficient.
just my opinion, but that's the reason I refuse to PvP now. Ever since AoS I've yet to even read about what any of the new skills are. And it seems also most PvPers are using the new skills, as if it's a need be. I also have a problem with me spending years to build a character I LOVE playing, but then being forced to turn that character into something I do not want it to be.
The only thing I remember being funny with regards to Vent/Chat proggies, was hearing the Old voices mixed in with the teeny/thiny ones, Bart Simpson meets Sam Elliot....yeah, that was Funny, but not Fun....Just say no to Yew. The fun part is listening in Vent/TS... whether winning or losing THAT is what makes PvP fun![]()

How are my items doing the killing when everyone has the same items? Any how couldnt you farm the ingreds in 6-7 days? I can get enough to make a suit in less than 36 hours. Faction arties are cheap. Do you even play? Did you compete before? It sounds like you just never adapted and think that if we all went back in time you would be better. Guess what, you probably wouldnt. As for the lazy comment, sorry but i think letting your items do the killing compared to pure skill is lazy. Not trying to start a troll fest, just commenting back.
With faction artifacts and imbuing, the barriers to pvp are extremely low. I can farm enough in a day to get a basic mage pvp suit. make 2 friends and have them donate the points and free 110s and 115 scrolls to finish up the early skills.I havn't done pvp since AoS. I don't get enough play time to gather the goodies or make enough gold to buy the goodies to compete in the item wars.
Heck, just up until last year I was still running around in GM plate
If ever I can acquire the needed items I will give it a go.
So until then I'm neutral.
Of course there just may be a classic shard before I ever acquire those items so I might never experience modern day item based pvp.![]()
Yes but these classic shard kids will never believe us.With faction artifacts and imbuing, the barriers to pvp are extremely low. I can farm enough in a day to get a basic mage pvp suit. make 2 friends and have them donate the points and free 110s and 115 scrolls to finish up the early skills.
I actually made a char with 19million gold in gear right now, 120 in every skill except magery(need to find one for sale is all) that is highly competent in pvp.
It took 7 days. 5 2-3 hour days and 2 4-5 hour days. It was so simple, I laughed. The barriers to pvp are low again. people are just afraid to try or not educated enough in skill gain, and farming to know how best to earn the money to accomplish things.
