Did Stratics Ever Admit a Security Breach?

I never received the common WoW/LoTR spam emails about account security until a few months ago.. funny how I don't have accounts with any game except UO, so I can laugh at their funny domain name registrations...

This is the only email account I use Stratics for, and the only use of the email account.

I know other people have had this happen to them. Does Stratics deny the obvious like BP or will they man up and admit a fault?

They admitted to it, but they really didn't have a choice. Everyone was getting massive warnings from their anti-virus software.

They say they've fixed it.

Fixing it doesn't matter... our email's were compromised. Our personal info was compromised.

It's as good as saying "Hello we sold your personal info."

Someone injected some bad code in. No one took anything out.
The idea that we lost access our database was a rumour arising from someone totally misunderstanding what was said.
George has already stated that the email listing WAS NOT downloaded. Everyone will please now stop the scaremongering.

There is no scare-mongering.. it's the simple fact that the Stratics email I have is my only gaming email, and only for Stratics.. and only for UO. And yet recently I've been spammed with creative Wow/LotR messages about my account.

Do not discount us Petra. There is a reason. Do you really think I'd make this up for your attention?

Yes they did, the same day, on the stratics home-page.

I have no idea how these widely-spammed messages are distributed. It needs someone far more net-savvy than I to offer the reassurance you're asking for.

You go from accusing me of scare-mongering to ignorance? Do they teach that sort of reply at Stratics-college?

Step one (A singular complaint). Ignore and insult any legitimate complaints.
Step two (Once someone not from Stratics has verified) Plead ignorance.
Step three (Once we've been caught) Say the higher ups are "on it." and ignore everything else.

I don't know what type of email account you have, but if it is a free email account, the account name was tested and downloaded by bots and sold to spammers a long time ago. Even the email accounts that I create on my websites have this problem and I still get spams from WOW and LOTR.
