The Sampire Challenge

Just returned to the game and my old account is on a very underpopulated server.
Rather than abandon it or pay cash to move a toon or two--I think i may opt to build a new set of toons on a more populated server.
So--I have read many of you and I appreciate your theory crafting; how would you start a sampire on a new server--with no support either financial or from support class toons such as artisans/miner/blacksmith?
Example:
-Start a Samurai, then add necro etc. What would you lock out(skills) first, how would you build it for both time and PvM efficiency ( not ready for PvP just yet)
or?

My point here, I see alot of good ideas for folks who have mature accounts, but nothing that takes it from square 1 to success ( or perhaps I did not go back in the pages far enough)

What would be your final suit ( is that what we call the skill sets now?)--you target goal as it were?

I admnit I like the idea and the challenge of building this from scratch--but I am not too proud to ask for help from you experienced folks.

If it makes it easier for you, assume I must learn just about everything from 2003 forward, so please do not assume any knowledge of expansions after 2003( although if you tell me what you are talking about I will do the research-no fear there)
I also bought the SA edition this time--so the basic tools should be there.

Thank you, fellow warriors, for your help.

Decided to make a sampire as well...here are the skills i am at:

120 swords
120 parry
100 bush
100 necro
100 tactics
90 chiv
90 healing

I'm having a delima with anatomy...whether to add it back and drop healing, or even drop parry

my current equip set up leaves no room for skill bonus....so I have to decide on real skills here

Healing without anatomy is kind of... I wouldn't do it. And 90 chiv? Drop it down to 65 or so, add 20 points into bushido.

Go with either

120 weapon skill
120 bushido
120 parry
100 necro
100 anatomy
100 tactics
60 chiv

or

120 weapon skill
120 bushido
120 tacts/anat
100 anat/tacts
100 healing
100 necro
60 chiv

If you want one of the standard templates.

This is a thread in the tamer forum, but it has a couple of interesting starting ideas, and links to a couple similar threads that are far more applicable, I think. I'm kinda in your boat, I sold my account years ago, and have never really gotten back on my feet with my new account. I keep stuff like this close at hand when I have the urge to play.

Edit: Btw, I hope your *new* server is Lake Superior, not the old one! Don't abandon us!

My new-shard procedure, a step by step guide:
-Create new character with weapon skill and tactics
- Buy healing and anatomy to 400 (leaving you with 200 gold over)
- Head out to Old Haven and work weapons and tactics to 60
- Make sure you talk to everyone you come across. This is probably more important on a new shard than skills building.
- Use those contacts to build you a modest suit of armor. I've gotten everything in the past from non-runic crafted leather to full artifact suits and millions of gold.

- Take a break from Old Haven, head to the Yew sheep pens! Carry a weapon you aren't proficient in and a few thousand bandages.
- Attack all the sheep, but don't kill them. Use the weapon you aren't proficient in and train healing/anatomy and parry at the same time. After an hour, you should be grandmaster in parry and between 60-70 healing.

-Return to New Haven, buy up skill in bushido, chivalry and necromancy. You can start training bushido immediately (cast confidence to 50).

-Make sure you take the newbie necromancer quest. It's the easiest way to get a full necromancy spellbook, which you'll need for vampire form at least.

-Head to Despise to make your fortune and train your swords/tactics/bushido/anatomy to grandmaster at least.

When you get that far (I've gotten good enough that I can do all that in a few hours, but doing it casually can take up to a couple of weeks... BIG difference from 10 years ago when any GM skill would take months.)

This method has a downfall, in that necromancy training later will take longer than if you train necromancy first. So if you could beg, borrow, buy or steal an LRC suit, then train necromancy immediately to take advantage of meditation and focus in the process.

Farsight has some good advice. To add to it, if you have a spare slot, start a char with 50 imbuing. Save anything you can unravel while training, then use that char to unravel. When you have earned a little gold training weapon/tactics/etc. buy some amber and 6 pieces of NPC leather armor. Imbue 17LRC onto 5 pieces and 15LRC onto the sixth. You can then train your necro to 99/100.

As a bonus, your imbue toon can eventually help get you at a minimum a 70's suit of armor (after vamp)

When iv moved servers iv found someone to trade like 150k with for my server and/or most people will just give you 150k if you explain your a noob to this server but want to try it out and see there a vet and actually give them 150k on your server (watch out for people who look like scammers but most wont tarnish there name for 150k) :)

Then i start a tailor and buy cloth bods to fill to lvl up and start collecting bods (couple of 1000 will lvl you), you can usually find another crafter to too trade with and if there well established they will usually help you out with bods you need to get horned/barbed kits and CBDs.
That usually gets me upto about 10-20mill in a couple of months then start trading or start smithing as its more profitable than tailoring but harder.

After that its plain sailing as you can make a pretty penny off bods to be able to start trading items (buy if something is cheep sell it for going rate)
Them buy everything you want/adv tokens/transfer tokens (to get good toons over) so you can make 1 sweet char to then make even more gold farming pearless and doom ;)

Theres my lil trade secret ;)

Tag along at champ spawns, most wont mind you looting at the end if you're a newbie. Then buy gear, then collect essences/ingredients and sell them.

You could also go to navarey if the server your on always has someone there, will be a great start if you get a tangle :)

I was doing it on 5 servers constantly with new toons (log in kill her, log out go to next server etc etc) and 2 got tangles that enabled me to get very comfortably set up on that server.
