In response the whole racism debate.

Let's chat, shall we? Something's been on my mind for years.

Racism vs. Spam.

There are many similarities between these two.

Both are curious amalgams of debatable ingredients.

Both spread easily.

Both can be sliced, diced, or shaped to fit any social situation.

Both have the letters a, m, s-- When arranged properly, spells mas, which in Spanish means “more”, which is something you never hear folks yelling for racism or spam.

Both are very popular in the south. "Hang ten" may be a surfing term out here in California, but where I’m from, It's an ambitious Saturday night.

Both go well with white bread, although a cracker is a nice change of pace.

And both are lousy names for dogs. "Racism! Come here, boy!" "Bad spam! Bad spam! Sit!" See?

In fact, there's only one difference between these two.

Racism... isn't delicious. Mmm! Mmm! Damn, that's good.

Bah, I'm gonna get serious for the spectators. The whole thing was over "why is one group/color/ehtnicity protected and the other isn't?". I didn't care for the whole thing, but I did agree with the all or nothing option. We of OT (R.I.P.) could find the tiniest hole in anything --- hence why we were asked to "break the boards" when they came back in vboard format. Anyway, because it wasn't judged to be "all," some of us pushed it until it became almost "nothing." It ran some of us off. Some of us sat back in distaste and ignored some who were posting.

And I'm babbling, but I just heard that the ribs and corn are ready, so I'll shaddup now. My gift to y'all.

And to be serious back, racism is, unfortunately, a part of life in the US and abroad. An ugly part.

To hide that ugliness and pretend it doesn't exist perpetuates it and makes it worse.

Only airing it and getting it out there so people can really get a handle on how destructive it can be will fix anything in the short or long term.

People who don't see that are part of the problem.

Now I'll shut up too. lol

Old folks like us enjoy philosophical debate. Its a kind of gaming.

Often its the form of the argument, not the CONTENT that concerns us.

Its a good skill to learn to convey a meaningful discourse in an unreceptive online environment.

It helps with gaming and it helps with real life.
