I've trained all mines up. The only monsters i can see them surviving with this change is anything around harpy or dread spider range with no poison. If they get poisoned they dead. demon would kill them after 2-3 shots or so. It has to be low to mid low range that they will survive. Though i can't see myself use them in those situations i can pretty much jut whirlwind armies of those.Well if it gets targeted by a boss, it will die fast, but in most pvm situations, if you take the time to find a good swampy, and train them up, they actually become quite a durable mount, this armour will make them even more durable.
Cool. The damage has not been changed, it still applies to PVM only. We will be making a change today so they no longer block meditation when riding them.

Thank you.We will be making a change today so they no longer block meditation when riding them.

While you are here, any chance with the changes that swampy armour would redeed when you remove it, as opposed to going *poof*?The damage has not been changed, it still applies to PVM only. We will be making a change today so they no longer block meditation when riding them.

Your in atlantic right? I'll get you discounted armor if needed. While you are here, any chance with the changes that swampy armour would redeed when you remove it, as opposed to going *poof*?Swampy armour is pretty expensive to make and I am in a situation where I am going to be required to change it for rp reasons...
Holy crap folks, amid all the complaining, I don't think any of you realized how much of a freaking buff this is to swampies. Maybe only someone who plays a tamer a lot would understand.•It now gives the dragon bonuses as if it were 5 pieces of plate armor.
•If it is crafted exceptionally, then +5 is added to all resists
Unfortunately I'm on Cats. Well actually I like Cats, but unfortunate in this context...Your in atlantic right? I'll get you discounted armor if needed.
Hmm.. tamers with pack of 5 swampies FTW?Holy crap folks, amid all the complaining, I don't think any of you realized how much of a freaking buff this is to swampies. Maybe only someone who plays a tamer a lot would understand.
I just made some exceptional verite armour for my swampy.
Resists Before the Barding: 35 27 35 28 40
Resists After Adding the Barding: 80 63 61 63 60
Swampies just had their survivability enhanced by a factor of 10...
Maybe. Would it be better than frenzys?Hmm.. tamers with pack of 5 swampies FTW?
Maybe. Seems like A LOT of ingots spent replacing armor.Hmm.. tamers with pack of 5 swampies FTW?Holy crap folks, amid all the complaining, I don't think any of you realized how much of a freaking buff this is to swampies. Maybe only someone who plays a tamer a lot would understand.

Obviously posted by non-tamers. Swampies do very little damage, and they don't have pack instinct. They aren't ever going to be an offensive weapon.Maybe. Would it be better than frenzys?Hmm.. tamers with pack of 5 swampies FTW?
True for our CURRENT swamp dragon.Obviously posted by non-tamers. Swampies do very little damage, and they don't have pack instinct. They aren't ever going to be an offensive weapon.![]()
No sampires dont meditateWow, interesting change. Is this an attempt to nerf sampires?
Poop on a stick, I can barely have the time to mine as it is, much less buy it...that would explain a lot when I was going farming this morning. Thanks for pointing us to this info BeefSupreme. I guess this means there is a functional use now for barding deeds made with the special ores. Wonder if the damage reduction is still in effect or if the resist upgrades replace damage reduction.
Yep.This just turned swampies into the best pvp mount available for non tamers...
Because dismounting and remounting isn't so easy, especially in the CC. Also, while you're meditating, every monster will target your swampy and it will stupidly run after the monsters while you're trying to meditate.I also fail to see the issue with dismounting to actively med. You aren't going to be actively meditating if you are a target anyway, and if you don't have mount and dismount bound to a key or your mouse somehow, you are doing something wrong, so dismounting to med, then mounting again should only slow you down by a split second or two, and you can't actively med and move either.
0.1% survivability enhanced by 10 is still only 1%Holy crap folks, amid all the complaining, I don't think any of you realized how much of a freaking buff this is to swampies. Maybe only someone who plays a tamer a lot would understand.

Excellent, that is good new. Any chance you guys are looking at bard abilities? The damage has not been changed, it still applies to PVM only. We will be making a change today so they no longer block meditation when riding them.

I don't think this armor change is meant to benefit our current swamp dragon.0.1% survivability enhanced by 10 is still only 1%
At most it will have 60-80 resists in an expensive armor and 125 HP. Not exactly something that can survive anything but minor to low medium mobs. Anything that can kill a player is going to be able to kill a swampie.
