Siege Meeting with Producer - Fact or Rumor?

Seems a few players saw Mesana say in global chat that there would be a meeting with the producer on Siege, supposedly tomorrow night @ 9 PM Eastern. We're trying to confirm this! If this is true, this is awesome news, but if its a hoax... we'd like to get this cleared up ASAP! A lot of folks are going to be terribly upset if they are waiting round for nothing.

Can someone let us know, please?

She doesn't do anything but drop pixels on shards. The rumor was that she was going to hold a pixel fest on siege sometime soon.

Siege is a shard, which has its own shard forums for shard-specific issues, of which a personal meeting between what remains of a shard's population and the Producer of the game is surely one.

I see that, about 45 minutes after this post, you found the appropriate thread on the SP shard forum. And I see that complaining about the format of said meeting has already begun.

The mere fact that an individual shard gets a meeting with the Producer is, to me, rather remarkable.

Siege players are notable on Stratics for their many contradictions. Their population is diminished, yet if their players quit, the game will die. Siege is harder, and we can take it because we're just that tough, yet things should be made easier for us. Stratics ignores us and devalues us, yet we have several Siege players among the mods, and we're allowed to post shard-specific issues on U-Hall, which no other shard's players are allowed to do.

And, finally and most relevantly, EA ignores us, yet we get a personal meeting with the Producer.

All of these cannot possibly be true at the same time.

QFT, keep the Siege crap on the Siege forum. I don't see threads everyday about every other shard here, they are where they are supposed to be, why aren't Siege posts where they go? rolleyes:

Move along, nothing to see here...

OMG WAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Siege gets a little meeting and lo and behold, Galen and his little lap dog Yen get their little butt thongs in a bunch. Move along, girls. Maybe having your tushies waxed or getting your nails done will brighten your day and help dry your tears! Try that instead of crapping up these forums all day long.

Do keep in mind that anyone can create a character on any shard called "Mesanna" and post anything in Global Chat. So, don't believe all the rumors or even everything that you see.

Amusing; I know better than to page though.

There was nothing I've posted in this thread that can be reasonably viewed as a troll, personal attack, or anything else against the rules.

I see, however, that I have hit a nerve or two.

Really? Are you so scared of PvP that you have to trash Siege too? rolleyes:

This reply was very disappointing.

I have you on ignore because for whatever reason you find it necessary to launch into personal attacks, insults, and mis-spelling my name whenever I open my mouth.

Despite our disagreements, and the logical errors you sometimes make defending your positions, I have always found you to be well-spoken and intelligent.

Nothing I said could reasonably be construed as "trashing" Siege. Nothing I said could reasonably be construed as my being "scared of PvP."

Yet, there you go.

If you have me on ignore, how is it that you even saw my response to your assinine post?

Here's the deal...

...when I read something that you post that is not some condescending veiled insult of someone else and their preferences, I respond (if I have anything to say) in an intelligent, and reasonable manner.

However, when you pipe up about something you (a)know nothing about and (b) are clearly posting about it to merely insult someone else, then I have no reason to respond to you in any other manner besides the way I just did.

But, since this post of yours caught my attention...and you were unable to decipher the short and terse version, let me explain what I am saying to you here:

It has become obvious that your agenda is to belittle the PvP community, and anyone that supports open-PvP in this game. You obviously had a hard time before Trammel was put in, and so therefore you harbor ill feelings towards those that embrace that aspect of the game. Anytime anyone posts anything in regards to development that does not cater to the "trammie" item horder playstyle, you chime in with some condescending snide remark, like the one you leveled at Siege players above.

Perhaps instead of holding on to your disdain for Fel, PvP, and obviously Siege, you should come out of your self imagined ivory tower and understand that these people help to support the game that you play. Much like a Classic Shard would, Siege brings in revenue that goes to the general fund.

So if the developers or producers decide to take some time to address the concerns of players on Siege...or Classic UO fans...then perhaps you should be thankful...because it actually does benefit you indirectly.

I often read when not logged in. Not being logged in, the ignore list does not work, as it's specific to being logged in.

I didn't read the rest of your post, it'll just remind me of why I have you on ignore to begin with.

It always comes down to the insult. Which, I guess, when that's all you really have, you resort to it awfully fast.

*shrugs*

Enjoy the meeting. Show cal some appreciation, as he seems intent on catering to you.

I have to agree with Galen on this.

Siege does get special treatment, and it seems some people here deny it. This is no way a statement regarding weather or not the treatment they get is proper or deserved, it's simply an observation of facts.

It's not a standard shard. It HAS to have special treatment. They have special rules, and are unique compared to standard shards. They do have aspects that make it more difficult, and they are the minority of UO players.

Yet here, their voices are heard loud, clear, and quite often. Their issues and view of how UO is played are repeated ad-naseum...

And there is nothing wrong with that - No more than anyone else repeating their views or issues with the game. But to say that Siege players, in particular, are among if not the most vocal seems disingenuous.

Again, nothing wrong with any of this. From my view, anyway.

Perhaps if he had said the way you said it, I might not have responded to him the way I did.

Also, you hit the nail on the head with the statement that Siege is a special shard, and therefore requires special attention.

But you also have to understand that Siege got a lot of things that the regular shards got that Siege players didn't want. So in catering to the players on the regular shards, the devs gave Siege the shaft. It's only right that they have to clean up the mess.

With that said, everyone needs to understand that what was done in the past (UO:R...AoS...SE...ML) is not the fault of the current dev team. In fact, it would seem that the current team does listen to the players, and has some idea of what was done wrong in the past. What happens next? Only the devs know that...but it is good to see them addressing things like this.

Having established the answer to the question posed in the OP, I think we can call this thread done.
Thank you.
