Thinking about starting on Europa

Hello!

I played UO from Christmas 1997 to 2004 and finally came back a couple of weeks ago. I originally come from Drachenfels, but my home shard is not what it has been. The bank in Luna is empty even during the weekend, and there are hardly any good shops left. So I'm thinking about moving to Europa.

What's it like on this shard? Is Europa more populated than Drachenfels? Will I find any people to play with?

Are there any good shops left? I used to love looking for new shops, buying rares etc.

What's the housing situation like?

Europa is more populated than Drachenfels yes.

You will find people to play with yes, there are some lovely guilds out there. RP, PvM, PvP and just normal social guilds Got some lovely people over here.

We have many shops on Europa, some very good. Have shops all around Luna, Zento, Umbra road and some very good ones just in random places like Royal Arms and Armour near Skara Brae.

There are many houses but there are still spots free so im sure you'll find a spot to place a fair size house on

It's more populated than Drachenfels but far from being crowded. Atleast Luna Bank has some players sitting around.

Iam back for a couple of weeks myself but cant find many shops. Run around Luna, check Umbra west road and last but not least the RAA shop. That's all i could find.


Up to Towers you can place anything you want (felucca, havn't checked the other facets).

I've taken a look around, and there are indeed a few interesting shops. I picked up a few runes as well - and got a free vendor spot in Luna to sell my own stuff!

I also placed a small house in the most amazing location (see below)! I couldn't believe the spot was still available! Now I just need to earn some money so that I can decorate it ...

Anyway, does anybody know a guild I could join?

And are there any good rune libraries on Europa?

Fantastic spot! Alot of people aim for an 18x18 all the time, So small ones, Unless in Luna or Zento, tend to remain open.

I have a runelibrary in West Zento which has almost all the spots you'll need!

I have a little rune library in my Luna shop, first shop west bank exit 'floral n hardy'

As well as mappers library there is also another great library in zento on the north road

Valentine's Garden near Yew... As for Rune Libraries, there's also the RAA one south of Skara Brae, which has all the Treasure Map locations, using the THB numbering convention...

It is East of Justice Shrine next to the waterfall. It was decorated a couple of years ago for a Scavenger hunt - Valentines one I believe - It is indeed a pretty spot but as has been said most people go for larger places and small houses are easy to place almost anywhere.

Don`t feel bad when you in a few weeks have outgrown that plot and are looking for something bigger. People usually do these days

As for shops, there are plenty still on Europa also in the outskirts. But as with everything else, they are dynamic. Some open, some close, some haven`t restocked in eons, some have a pause. Check Luna or other banks for runedrops and check them out and save them if you like what you see. My shopping runebooks are ever changing as well.

I'm glad someone got it that will appreciate it. I just relocated from there closer to Yew. I'm already missing the unique nature of that spot, so thank you for making sure I can't go back! (It rains all the time there anyway...)

Note that in recent months a group of players has rebuilt the Tel'Mar community (just south of where you are) though it's been a bit quiet recently. There's a style of architecture that might be influential in your choice of building. You can get quite a nice two storey there.

Congratulations on your house. That is one of the prettiest locations for a house ..... such a pity it's so tiny. But then again ...... it's a perfect little gem.

I noticed in your post you were asking about guilds, as well as rune libraries. Chaos of Deception (CD) is a medium sized active guild with a good mix of newer players and returning vets. We're pretty laid back and hunt together regularly as well as helping each other with training, crafting and everything else. We play the game to have fun ........ so no politics allowed.
