I just logged onto my email acct and had at least 10 different emails, telling me I logged on such and such game acct and they believe I have been hacked as I am on one ip addy(their words) and someone else logged on with a different ip addy(again their word) I get this all the time on my main email acct
But with this email acct I use it for only four things Stratics, banking,UO and a classic car site,
I know that the bank is secure I never post on the car site with this email acct I use my main for it and neither one is a hot mail acct
And I believe Stratics is secure so that leaves UO or EA which has this acct info.
My question is anyone else getting anything of this nature.
(or am I being paranoid)

I get several emails every day in a small usage email account, relating to my WoW account...

...which interestingly, I've never played or signed up for in any way, shape or form.

I just delete them as soon as I see them.

If its for WoW.. It's a phishing attempt.

I get these to emails I've never signed up for anything WoW related on. You're safe.

They try to lure unsuspecting players who do play the game into putting their information on a fake site, and then they steal the account.

Edit: They don't have to pull your email from anywhere.. I can just type [email protected] and im sure that email will be taken and someone will get it. Know what i mean?

I got 2 different ones - NCSoft supposedly banning my account and WoW supposedly doing same. NCSoft (Lineage II) was dead long ago. Never was in WoW.

Like the above posters said, it's all phishing attempts, do not click any link in those emails EVER. Here's a rule of thumb, if a game company has an issue with your account, they simply turn it off.

couple months ago I began getting the NCSoft emails, also... if it tells ya anything about me I thought that company made security software and the email being an obvious fake began to feel sorry for people that actually used their program to stay safe

Well for sure it's a bank teller who wants your veteran UO account info (oh wait she's never heard of UO) so no...not her...

Car site yes they would love to get their hands on a U F O, oh yeah, they dunno what a U O without an F is anymore than the bank teller does...

Why on earth would you think a website that KNOWS you play an online game, UO, but would lose ZERO dollars if your UO account got hacked, as they are not a site owned and operated by EA Games, is safe to use the same email as you use for your game accounts?

Dude use a new email for your UO accounts that you NEVER use for anything else.

Do it now!

Stratics will never know the email I use for my UO accounts (nor will anyone ingame except for those players Mythic hires as employees who have access to my account info).

I was once threatened ingame on Pacific that someone would be sending me something through my Stratics email...

I wondered how he got my Stratics email...

I still don't know the answer.

Remember this: Stratics is run by free labor, volunteers who play UO, therefore are UO players, some of whom may be interested in owning a dusty old UO account.

Change your UO email!

Certain staffers can see email adresses of users and any of those staffers could have had their computer compromised by malware and would be unwittingly harvesting emails.

Also Stratics lost a lot of info (including emails) many many years ago. So if your email is old and used on Stratics it might have happened there.
