Some (please insert appropriate word which Gareth will erase here) came up to me in Luna tonight and told me that I must 'join' my guild with his. (I'm gonna assume he meant 'ally')

I pretty much told him that we go it alone. He then said, and I quote "You must join us or die!"

Are you kidding me right now? Really?

I kept waiting for dramatic music to play in the background. The rest of the story is too long for me to type here, but it just absolutely left a poor taste in my mouth for the guild he represented. And if he is an officer in that guild, they should be ashamed of themselves.

It's one of the big two.

The entire thing was just so silly. As I've said over and over, I'm down for some flame talk, but this kid was just so pathetic it was ridiculous. 'We've destroyed many guilds and you won't be successful'.

He then went on to say I misunderstood him, that he just wanted us to be 'friends'. Hmmm, "Join us or die" does not sound like you want to be friends, son. He said he knew how we fight (how could you possibly know this, when we have been gone for 5 years?) and when I said as much, he offered to duel me.

Sure, let's get right on that. I'll duel you with my 100 magery, 50 eval and 35 resist, along with an LRC suit my BFF crafted for me the day we returned. How do you really think that's going to go?

It's not like I think we are 'better' than anyone else. We aren't. I'm certain all the other guilds on the shard are far better, more geared, and definitely more experienced than we are. I'm sure we will die over and over and over again.

I'm not afraid to die. I'm not afraid to lose my insurance money. I'm not even embarrassed at the fact that I will die over and over and over again. However, we will res and keep coming back.

BiC has never been one to ally. There are a HANDFUL of times we did during our time here before. I think I remember twice allying with Champs to wipe out some annoying guild or another for part of a spawn/harrower, and then once those people were done getting owned, we began killing each other as usual.

There have been other big guilds in the past who told us that we'd never make it. That we'd never successfully complete a harrower, that we'd never be able to defend our spawns, that we'd not stick around for more than a few weeks, like all the other guilds. Those people learned long ago that though we may not be the best, we are certainly determined, we are certainly a guild full of mature adults, we most certainly do not hack or exploit. We came from outta nowhere all those years ago, and we will do it again. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow and maybe not even 2 months from now, but come out ahead we will.

This, I can guarantee.

He was not kidding around. I know this because apparently one of the senior members of said guild was standing near us and saw the convo.

Anyway- I'll have to keep my eyes open and hope that I'm mistaken. My first few encounters with said group were lovely, and perhaps this is just a rather soft apple.
