Did any of those people try talking to the pvprs? I'm pretty sure one or two on Atl had spirit speak.
I wouldn't ask if I didn't know for a fact that having good manners goes a long way in Fel. If anyone asked them politely if they could get the book and maybe get a gate, they (in all likelihood) would have let them. It also helps if people keep a good sense of humor in fel... some feed (as it were) off your anger and frustration.
Before anyone says it... no, you probably shouldn't have to ask politely of someone if you could finish the quest, but having good manners will get you things in game you wouldn't get otherwise. rolleyes:
Fyi... running from a red or most other pvpr's is like running from a bear. If you run, they WILL chase you. You'd be better off just playing dead or trying to reason with them.In other words, people need to quit acting like victims and try a different tact.
I don't play UO for the "risk" you seem to think everyone should be forced to experience. I play for fun, relaxation, and enjoyment. Getting an adrenaline rush from a video game is not something I need nor want, and the same can be said for most of the people that play the game. Take away the fun, relaxation, and enjoyment and you will see people quitting the game just as they did prior to Tram. No one wants to be forced into a playstyle they don't get any enjoyment from and they damn sure don't want their gameplay interrupted so they can be the source of someone else's enjoyment.
So you want UO to shut down? Because that's what will happen if this becomes the norm instead of the exception. I know that if my normal gameplay starts forcing me to go to Fel to accomplish anything my normal game will not be UO any longer. I will sell my account to the highest bidder and find something else to occupy my time. I know quite a few people that feel exactly the same.
I guess I was smarter than you then, since I didn't die once, not even on my crafters.![]()
.................
You are the reason the game is dieing, not that the dev’s are putting content in felucca.
..............
you missed the point,Everyone could skip the spots in fel just like I skiped the one in ilsh. I had no problems hitting every spot on many shards. The fel ones on shards I don't have dedicated PvPers with contacts on those shards I've just waited a few days before going to and, shockingly, I had no problems.
Play smart people, do what you want and have fun. You could also try PvPing as a group and not one at a time. When I was "protecting" the book on Napa from ruthless players arriving from Tram I noted over and over how these people would come one at a time to die, never in a group. At some points there were 5 players on the guard side and little old me beside the book, I would have died from a bola and group spells but it just didn't happen and I left due to bordom. Sigh.
non-PvPers were the content for pkers..................
You are the reason the game is dieing, not that the dev’s are putting content in felucca.
..............
you call the book CONTENT LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
dude if you think THIS is the content that fel. need,
then you deserve all my compassion and charity
attend,So let me see if I have this right. You didn't die on any of your chars but just the thought of having to go to fel takes your enjoyment out of the game?
What now you're not happy with the type of content. It was a 1 day event held in felucca. There were loads of fel players there that day for the "Content". They all seamed prety pleased with it too, so whats your problem? There were battles between fell guilds and there was loads of plain old PKing. Fel players knew that people would be there and they came on mass on some shards. I would say it was a total sucsess.you call the book CONTENT LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Felucca is far from dead. Only a true tramie would even think thats its dead. TBH i see more people in fel that i do in the new SA expansionattend,
most times i post, i dont post for egoistic content,
i look at the whole game, condition and status
i know, most fel."pvp" crowd will never ever accept that all those :
"put content to fel.that trammies need, and fel. will "live long and prosper"
was and is a completly failure of the devs.
listen to 5% and anger 95% will always end in a disaster !
explanation of disaster :
-felucca empty
-siege empty
-"classic shard" will remain also empty

It was content as these books were based in Fel. That said I thought all but 2(3?) of the books were in Fel also with matching ones in Tram or so it seems when I go through my book of runes for this event so its clearly a duel facet event.you missed the point,
i did all my 21 char. to both fel. books without a single death.
the point is that some so called uo"pvp" player think the books are content for fel.
they think they had a pvp challenge
if the fel.crowd think this is what they need to "pvp", then they only affirm WHY fel. is dead and empty

I'm sorry that some people would wish to have PVP removed, it's a real shame.
Your lack of understanding is way out there, try having some consideration for other play styles, im sure the PvPer thinks there is no need for PvM in the game either. But right now you are looking like a baby who has just thrown his toys out the pram due to not getting his own waywhy is it that you all think that we wish to pvp removed?????
THERE is NO real PVP in UO
do YOU you call "ambushing a tailor around a small red book" pvp ?
do you call killing and trash talking a tailor pvp ?
uo-pvp = joke
with this sentence alone, you degrade yourself again.....I and my fellow guildmates rarely have to step into tram except to fill our vendors or look at the bank sitters.

The risk you take in bringing a tailor to Fel is clearly worth the reward you might receive, or so it must seem as you clearly did it.why is it that you all think that we wish to pvp removed?????

And yes I do call cleaning up the UO cest pool of worthless tram tailors who dare to cross my path in a clearly combat based area as Player vs Player action. If you had entered a gate and not recalled you would have had to click the consent to travel to a scary place, opening your rune book is the same action. By default you accepted all and any events that might occur by YOUR actions, it's not my fault you got your arse kicked bring a TAILOR to fel(what the heck were you thinking?).
At no point did anyone say you had to come to the party.

That's pretty optimistic, but the rest of it seems accurate. To maintain order in the online community, there are Game Masters who resolve player disputes, police the shard for terms of service violations, and correct glitches in the game.
Really? To maintain order in the online community, there are Game Masters who resolve player disputes, police the shard for terms of service violations, and correct glitches in the game.
Well i can coment on the last two, I have had a GM turn up and ask if i am AFK macroing, and a few weeks back my char had a bug and was sitting at -16 Physical resist when naked. GM came along and sorted it out. So yeah the last 2 they still do but im not too sure about the "resolve player disputes" partReally? To maintain order in the online community, there are Game Masters who resolve player disputes, police the shard for terms of service violations, and correct glitches in the game.
Strangely enough... I actually get what you are saying.I just don’t get it! You got to the SA Dungeon and try to kill the slasher, he kills you many times before you kill him, but yet you accept this. You got felucca and a PK kills you once and look at all the treads crying coz they had to go to felucca and they died.
Would you try and solo the slasher? (ok some do). Most people bring a few friends to try and kill the slasher. So why don’t you look at the pk’s as a high level monster that needs more than one person to take it down. If you go down in a group 3 or 4 you would be fine, when the pk is targeting your mate…you read the book. Let the Pk target you, so then your friends can read the book.
I just don’t see why people cry when a PK kills them but they don’t cry when a high level monster kills them. Death is Death! It make no difference if it s a red or a high level monster. You get a res and try it from a different angle…
Probably not. I don't think most people would have complained if it would have been NPCs that spawned there. There might have been a few complaints from people that it was too difficult, but the cries would not have been nearly has shrill. It's not the death part... it's the "being set-up" part. If they had stuck a hoard of Crimson Dragons (just picked something that causes quick death... big scary dragon) on that island with that book... the complaints would have been the same.
Again...why is it "harassment" when you are attacked by a player, but not when it is an aggressive NPC?FOr the most part... the island is the big issue with most. No one got upset about having to go to the ruins and die by the undead there (I have some really lame characters) and no one got upset about going to die at the Ilsh spawn (again... ratman archers and pathetic characters) but both those places allowed you to escape. Run and go back. You could use a bit of strategy to get in and out.
Not so with the PKers... there was no way to avoid, run, or anything else. And they camped there with high numbers attacking and killing OVER AND OVER... you were dead long before you could get anywhere near the book. Max frustration that... the quest was important for the storyline... the books will be important later... but players who could not be "tricked" into moving away from the book... which was placed in a TINY area with no room to move around... camped there just to harass anyone who showed.
