Rebuilding Magincia Speculations

Was just wondering what everyone thinks/hopes for the upcoming event.

For myself, I hope that rubble and crystallized essence plays a large part since I have rat-holed so much of it. It would be nice if my Gargoyle character has a use too.

It would be neat if there was a large hall in the new town with little cubby-holes in the walls where each person who takes part in the rebuilding can create a mini statue of themselves and permanently place them.

Pride was one of the main reasons for the fall of Magincia in Ultima lore.

Hahhahah. Guess no little statues. It's probably gonna end up some farming village of Magincia War Vets, all shell shocked and jumpy.

I am just hoping we get to participate in it rather than have it pulled out of some crystal that's been locked in a vault.

I'm guessing there will be some kind of turn in for building materials, such as ingots, leather, and boards, along with a whole slew of other items.

One would hope it's a little more complicated than that. Otherwise the scripters will have it built in a day or less considering the stockpiles of those materials that are floating around.

Instead of one method of rebuilding there needs to be many. Donations and quest driven parts. Riddles and puzzles. I'd like to see more than just 1 trick pony crap for once.

There should be a seperate scenario for the fel side that promotes and rewards pvp but give a reason to rebuild it. Reds vs blues in every fel quests is lame and only temporary fun for the reds. Give some meaning to combat other than braggin rights or the generic "I'm an evil murderer RAWR"

Ah yes, hundreds of buildings all containing small pieces of blackrock. That is, until the fateful day, when that poor chap, catching a snooze at the inn mumbles in his sleep "Vas kal an mani in corp hur tym"....

and we have to rebuild Magincia again!!!!

Just had a fantastic idea! We make this a thieving event. Allow thieves to steal bricks from Luna in order to rebuild Magincia! We can get Ricard and Nystul together to steal the moongate and voila! New Magincia!

Rebuild Magincia, Destroy Luna.

and we have to rebuild Magincia again!!!!

Maybe we could use the blackrock as mining explosives to clear basements and cellars. While we blow up basements earth, we might expose some old rubble for our collection.

Blackrock explosions are just too dangerous to use near the sea. A tidal wave might form and knock Buc's den off all the server boundaries.

I just this week returned to UO after a 5 year absence. One of the first things I did upon return was hit a vendor mall for a 'cities' runebook (where the heck did the one I had in my pack go when I left 5 years ago?!) and one of the books that were for special places, scenic spots, and the like. Book in hand, the first place I headed to was Magincia. It was one of my favorite spots when I began playing in 1999 and I was anxious to see it again.

Imagine my surprise and disappointment at what I found there. It took me a bit to google around and read the storyline and see what happened.

I hope there is someday some way to return Magincia to her former beauty.
