What are GMs for if not to help out in game stuf???

On ATL some tamer has tamed and removed the Cus from their area and released them on the server. I found ONE but cannot for the life of me find the other three. I have paged and of course gotten the canned response, that they are not able to help.

This is clearly done by a player griefing others from the Cu spawn, A GM could easily find the Cu's locations, kill them off and let the cycle start a new. ANd even further find out who tamed and released them and mark their accounts for griefing, BUT??????

SO i ask again what are they actually supposed to help us with?

You may not like it, but that is not griefing, is not illegal, and is not something that a GM should help you with. There really is no reason for a GM to find out who tamed and released it. If it is in the area, it is up to you to find them and kill them off. Annoying, perhaps... but not griefing and not illegal, and not something you should page a GM for.

This seems like a developer issue, Spawner needs to respawn if the Cus go out of a certain range. Maybe worth sending in a bug report.

it is against the ROC. Rule number #24 You will not do anything else that interferes with the ability of other Ultima Online users to enjoy playing the game in accordance with its rules, or that increases the expense or difficulty of Electronic Arts in maintaining the Ultima Online service for the enjoyment of all its users.

Pretty much #24 comprises all griefing and removing of animals or blocking or anything that interferes with another players enjoyment. So either got to follow all the rules or non of them. Choosing which rules to follow or not is the policy of a griefter under the guise of doing good.

They can be anywhere in the Twisted Weald area. http://www.uoguide.com/images/3/3d/Twisted_weald_map.gif

Which means where Irk is and where you place the Dreadhorn keys and also below Swoops.

If there is only 1 in the whole of the Twisted Weald then there is a problem and you should contact the GMs.
I'm pretty sure its not juts limited to Twisted Weald... The Cu has to die or leave Ilshner all together.

I could be wrong, but I think I'm right.

Is taming against the rules? If so, would Player A, that tamed Dragon X before I was able to, be breaking the same rules?

No. As intention of who saw pet first came to first come first serve. If you are taming a pet and a tamer comes in and takes the pet away from you on purpose that would be violating rule#24. This can also be placed on judgemnt if it was a limited pet like the dreadmares. they can get away with it once or twice but after the third time most likely the Gm will see it as harrasment. Also if tamer leaves pet in game while its active it breaks rule #6You may not leave an active character or pet in game while unattended. If your character is performing a skill, text or action, you must be able to respond to a Game Master when one attempts to speak to you.

But in the case of it not doing anything in game purposely not removing it from the subserver blocking respawn which is easily deduced by any GM with half a brain in the pens and the cu area will be breaking rule #24 which i mention.

I would disagree with your interpretation.

Example 1: I tame a cu sidhe and release it next to the gate, letting someone else to re-tame or kill it off. This obviously blocks the spawning of a fresh cu sidhe. Is this a violation of Rule #24? Obviously not, but it still blocks the spawn.

Example 2: I tame a cu sidhe and release it in the twisty paths, letting someone else to re-tame or kill it off. Violation? No, but it would block the spawn.

Example 3: I tame a cu sidhe and release it beyond the twisty paths, letting someone else to re-tame or kill it off. Violation? I don't think so. It's not nice, but it's not griefing nor a violation.

How far beyond the paths would it be what you would consider a violation? I have several characters that can go in anywhere in the Twisted Weald and kill these cu sidhe off, and have before. Just because Weins doesn't have the skill to do that doesn't make it a violation.

It would seem, from your interpretation, that if I am soloing a reknown, or Navery, or taming a pet, or stealing an item, that should someone else come along and kill the Navery or whatever, steal the item, or tame the pet while I fail, that that is griefing. Or does the same rule only apply to taming?

And as stated above, how far do the Cu Sidhe need to be moved to fall under griefing?

Not really my interpretation. You see they made the rule very general. Enough that a gm on a bad day can ban a person for what you said or ignore it. But according to that rule anything that another player does that prevents you from enjoying your game using regular mechanics such as any skills is against that rule. Some things are obvious like shutting down bulls for the day other things are less obvious like someone stealing your kill. It can be suggested that they are joining in the kill with you or they are blocking you from getting any kills. I suppose the interpretation would be different per GM and if it's fel or tram ruleset and if they know the game or not.
But for a fact anything that is done on purpose just to make another player experience worst is against that ROC rule. GM will check the log and actions to see if anyting was said to indicate this.

The thing about this is all about the GM you get. You see if it's a GM that is very familiar with the game they might give you a warning as they know that when taming a creature it is UO protocal for the last decade to kill your releases 100% if same server and up to you if you moved the pet somewhere else. Now if the pet is left at the same spawn point or at least in the area then no harm is done but if it's taken to a different area but same subserver not easily found then it would depend if all the spawns were taken there to prevent any spawn or if it was just one. It's really completely up to the GM. Most likely a person will get a GM that would ask whats a CU? I didn't know there was pool game going on?

You know. I read about half way through the posts. I am a tamer. I am not sure why this would even be an issue to you unless you have bad karma. I tame cu's. Then take them from the area that they are at and release them usually in Spirituailaty then go back and tame again. Removeing them fromt the area makes another spawn. But yet leaves one for another to tame in another area.

I can be almost sure this person is NOT griefing anyone. And this type of call into a GM is just useing up the que for no reason. This action is not harrasment in any way. Can you tell me why this action bothers you?

First issue, it should not be about which GM you get; they should all treat the issue the same. I know it doesn't happen that way, but ideally it should.

The next issue is that at least on my server there is no such thing as this protocol. In fact, it was very common to leave tamed/released pets to retame by others for skill gain... that is, once tamed pets are harder to tame than fresh tames. And there is NO rule anywhere in the TOS that states or even hints to this. So, I don't agree with this statement at all.

I still don't see how this is a GM issue or any violation of any TOS rule. But, I guess we disagree on this.

You are miss interpeting the rule. You keep useing the words "ENJOYING" the game. I believe the words are "interfereing" with "normal" game play. Or griefing. Not even griefing... let's try harrassing...
