Question about GM's

So here's my story...

I was in meer city killing meer's and one spawned inside a room of one of the building's, The door to that room did not work and the meer was stuck inside. I paged a GM to ask that it be moved so I could continue hunting and the GM replied..."send in a bug report"

I thought to myself that's what I just did! Why do "I" have to send a bug report when not only did I just page about the broken door but I also waited until the GM replied before I left.

Im confused as to what GM's actually do?

Although the GM could have moved the meer for you it wouldn't stop it happening again, The only fix to that would be something the Devs need to do. Which is why you send in a bug report to the Devs.

I dont think you get it...The question is, if I page a GM about a bug...why is it the players responsibilty to make a bug report....You would think GM's would log the bug and submit it themself's.

That would actually make sense! And that in itself is your answer!

seriously though do you want them to take even more time away from gming to make bug reports ? its hard enough to get them to help!

Because as the person experiencing the error first-hand, you can best describe it and even attach screen snaps that GM may or may not be able to do. Makes doping out the problem and the fix very easy and less time consuming.

Yes I do want them to take more time away. Because they don't do anything anyway. Most of the time I if I page I have to do it 3 - 4 times because they didn't bother to read the page they skimmed it, missed 80% and sent me to the website link that doesn't apply.

If the GM's actually knew how to play the game this wouldn't happen. I can give you an example of the UO Team not knowing what the hell they are doing...

Let's see if you all do... there is a new piece of armor that has a completely useless MOD because it actually doesn't work on that type of armor.

This only happened because people don't give a **** about their job. How do you make an in game item that has a mod on it that actually won't work because the type of item cancels out the effect?

There are actually several weapons that also have the same thing happen... Let's see if any of you have figured it out, post your responses and I'll tell you yes or no. Perhaps you'll come up with some new stuff I missed!

Like of days of old with UBWS on bows. Mage armor on leather armor and nitesite on elf armor. We now have archery skill on garg jewels. Not an issue now with imbueding and I like the fact that looting an uber piece that needs no imbuing is rarer.

Well I'd like the GMs I deal with not waste time with players who cannot be bothered to make a bug report. But if you want to take away GM time, Feel free, I'll know who to blame when I have to wait longer than usual for a GM.

A Warhammer customer? :p

And since when are GMs allowed to interfere with spawns? Last I heard they were not allowed to even move a bugged spawn.

Last GM experience for me was a gm that looked at me run all the way through to level 3 despise with a noob to get back my body.

Fortunately there was a player there to save me from the liches that had turned into necro without anyone warning me. (yes hadn't played in a long time)

The GM did nothing but watch us for 30 minutes...

Which is on atlantic, so they must not have lots of things to do...

And anyways, you guys whine but it's not like you needed that meer, or that you needed a GM every single day.

Wth is that thread...

exactly, your complaint was not a 'time based' issue. how many times have you been in queue waiting for one? you think they just sit around ? there are many time based issues the gm's need to deal with.
just one example: your complaint vs. a person who dropped something under their house and needs a gm to manually grab it before it decays etc. who said getting to one meer is important or a problem, there is an entire town of them as you said. you're lucky imho you got even a canned response :)

Yes i have had items drop under house, and thank god the GM showed up in time to get them.

As far as them moving spawns, I have only had it happen twice, once about 4 or 5 years ago on a lvl 6 map the the creatures spawned stuck halfway underground. the gm had to come and get them unstuck.

The second time was 2 1/2 years ago lady m was stuck in a not reachable spot. GM took FOREVER to get there but did move her eventually.

Other than that gm has never moved anything that was stuck as none of hte other issues ive had with spawn were anything time base. ie treaure chests decay and if you cant kill spawn to loot then screw that chest, or lady m takes forver to reset if you leave w/o killing her.

Every time I go to the Cavern of the Discarded I usually end up with 3-4 rats that will spawn in one of the inaccessible locations and have paged a GM every time to get them moved. I must have paged at least 50 times over the course of a few months, and a GM came every single time and moved the rat for me. On the other hand, while farming Golems in Ilsh, I had a paragon golem spawn inside one of the machines in the Exodus Dungeon that I had no way to kill so I paged a GM and was directed to the knowledge base where it says GM's will not move stuck monsters. Another time I paged on the goblins that get stuck at the mini champ in the abyss and was again directed to the knowledge base by the GM.

Seems they have specific instructions as to when to step in and when not to.
