I am torn on whether I should round up so PoV members and go out there and protect these people...of if I should head over and help the reds

I think it is excellent that people in this game are finally getting a little, tiny, insignificant taste of risk and challenge.

Kudos to the devs on this one!

Morgana I would be interested to hear how that story would go for ya walking in there, "Hey guys (Reds) we are just here to help ya out with killing blues". Fairly certain in todays UO the next words out of your mouths would be "ooooOOOOOoooooooooooo". Thats providing you ever even finished the sentence.

I simply disagree with you that leading lambs to a slaughter in this fashion encourages people to actually want to be a part of the risk and challenge you speak of. Its foolish thinking anyone would be willing to enter the pvp world of fel in todays Sosaria, and this event just turns more people away from it in my eyes.

I was one of the people that thought, Hey great idea no stat loss> Reds will actually stick around to fight in our old TWT Town back in the day instead of running to closest server line or simply recalling out. Boy was I mistaken there. No stat loss was another item to be added to a long list of what made pvp SUCK.

For those that want people to go back to fel stat loss returning to the game, or perhaps even a one hour jail sentence for said red that dies would go a LONGGG way to people actually wanting to pvp again.

Fact of the matter is this in no way shape or form mirrors what was wonderful about the good old days, just as todays pvp pales in comparison so too do the events.

If, and ONLY if, the devs are going to start making Fel more of a 'requirement' (like anything in the game is ever a requirement), I would agree that stat loss needs to come back. But right now, you would be punishing people for PvPing in a PvP area.

What's the point of that??

And you are probably right DK, if I showed up anywhere in Fel, I would be killed on sight...unless I showed up with the right people.

So many of todays pvpers ask how can another enjoy killing the same no ai spawn over and over again? To me pvp lost its luster with all the changes over the years and my mind switched gears as well I guess.

Those wanting to simply kill another for whatever reason they might have should suffer SOME sort of consequences. Stat loss might be a bit harsh in todays UO but jail time of one hour would not.

But its too god damn much to ask that they should have kept even the 20 minute friggen timer at champ spawns upon death. So I see no changes made to the pvp world of uo that will allow for growth and the willingness to actually want to be a part of it because there is zero risk vs reward for either side really.

A world with no substance is no world at all, that to me is what Fel is today.

How I Feel About It

There;s a lot more I could say on the matter, but when they made the whole world where I had to spend more time and gps on constantly improving my gear and escalating equipment for constantly overpowered mobs...*shakes head*

No way I could explain what Im trying to say. I'll just stick to hanging out and growing plants now, It's time to semi-retire anyway :p

This statement is the CORE of my issues with your desires for the future of UO.

I play UO simply to play as I wish and do not force my playstyle on others. Here, you have stated your desire to force others to play as you wish - not as they wish.

You don't see a problem with that?

Ah, but are we not forced to play in areas to get items that we do not want to be in for reasons of griefing that nothing can be done about? I am glad they added something that includes fel. I am also happy that the Faction system abusers are getting what is due to them.

I agree with your train of thought that people should not be allowed to use Faction items and sit in Trammel. Simple fix to that is make it like order/chaos was, where you were open season in trammel as well as Fel.

The people that play UO for relaxation and stress relief instead of for an adrenaline rush would disagree with you. Heartily. And have. Multiple times.

Oh, and to preclude any confusion, that does mean the majority of the playerbase. You know, the 75% without which UO would shut down immediately, leaving you nothing and nobody left to argue about or with.

Yeah, those ones.......:sad3:

So you're saying that 75% of the playerbase is in Trammel...

and 100% of that playerbase isn't happy that part of this volunteer-based quest took place in Fel?

That sounds 120% bull****.

yeah but make a requirement like 1 hour of breaking rocks! Otherwise you would just have them hop on another account or something and go back and forth. But then again all people would do is write a rock breaking script and bam out of jail!

I agree though we need more fel required areas! (as in a free add-on in an ingame story line so you dont allienate non pvpers for having to pay for something they will NEVER use). But at the same time makes it riskier for trammies to get rewards they otherwise would farm all day anyways.

Wow...way to quote someone out of context.

What I said was, stat loss should be brought back IF the devs are going to make going to Fel more of a requirement.

If anything, that is the opposite of me forcing "my playstyle" on anyone.

Also, I have no power to force anyone in this game to do anything...never have...likely never will.

Which is why I support the notion of red 'perma death'. Being a criminal should carry severe penalties. I can GUARANTEE players would think twice before wantonly attacking others.

That one quote may have gone farther in limiting things, but you have made your desires very clear for a long time now... Tram was a mistake, pre-tram shard, etc...

It may not be how you intended to be taken, but it is the impression that your posts over the last 6 months have left me with.

Perma death would do far more harm than good in my opinion. If you were leaning towards that harsh of a penalty Id say perhaps many would be more than happy to get back into the pvp arena if you knew upon death a red would suffer a 20 point skill reduction in all skills. Has to be some sort of price for being a murderer.

The price for being red is you cannot go to any of the tram places. You know that in fel there is a chance of a red killing you and if this is scary then don't come. You are not forced into it in the slightest.

Jail? Stat loss? Lame is the only reply. There is no reason every player cannot make a reasonably decent pvp char and those complaining should either stay out of fel or try and fight.

Agreed!! i also am glad to see that at least a couple of the locations were put into fel, why does everything in the game have to be handed to you? i see it as a challenge and a bit of fun put into it, it also makes you have to do something other than just recall around tram and get stuff without working for it, yes I'm a trammy and i do visit fel from time to time and yes i hate it when I'm ganged by reds 5+ to 1 but its all part of the game if you don't like it don't go or work with your guild mates and Friends and go in groups and fight it out, reds are a part of the game always have been and always will be, and as picus stated stay and fight or stay out!

I don't deny any of that. I DO believe Trammel was a mistake, and I DO believe there should be a pre-Trammel shard created that is also without AoS.

But that doesn't change the fact that what I was saying had nothing to do with those things.

You and I disagree on things...that's a fact...but there's no need to go around putting words in my mouth.

IMHO he's right. There was nothing bull about whats being said in the help and general chat atleast on GL. The VAST MAJORITY, which is probably more then 75% do not like this decision. The people that think trammel was a mistake are also in the minority. The idea of trammel being a mistake IS forcing a certain play style on other people whether people think that's putting words in their mouth or not.

The decision was horrible. That just needs to be accepted at this point. Clearly the number of people that agree with this point of view is clearly shown in the thread. It's a very small amount of people

Without "inflating" this I must say there was a sense of Justice in bringing in those deserters as you accurately put it. :thumbup1:

Justice? Or Murder, Greed and something for your own fun to kill Trammies who dont even know how to defend themselves? You got a ton of points? Good for you, now Im leaning towards greed and grief.

The OP is making a very simple point; Those who joined Factions(PVP System, kid yourself not) for the luxury of the items just to NEVER, EVER PVP supporting that system, only to camp Trammel looking cool.. Were "forced"(ridiculous notion) to come to Felucca and make good on those items because they GREEDED over something. And they got slaughtered.

Is it PVPers' fault they are clueless about defending themselves? Is it grief that valid targets were killed? Is it greed? For what then, points? Thank you, Factioners ALL know and USE a very easy way to obtain points. The same way those Trammel camping "Factioners" got them to be exact.

Give yourself a break and a pat on the head and get over it. :stretcher:

This is your own statement as I never said anything even remotely resembling this, but yeah, it is 120% bull****. I'd have thought you wouldn't have been so quick to point you own bull**** out, but hey, good for you for being honest about it....:thumbup1:

I didn't mind having two Fel spots. It's a choice if you wanna go or not. No one is forced to go.
It reminds us of what UO is... it's a PvP game in it's core.
I died. But was a real good RUSH! I noticed some blues helping out to defend the book from reds too. Now that's community!!
