There's a Quest!!! Holy Hell. If I didn't check stratics today I would of missed the whole thing. And whats this the same laterns again they say? Is there any rare collecter in the dev team anymore. Or know the meaning of keeping things well non carbon copy. I missed the days when baskets and rocks where sort after because there rarety. So much loss.

Hell ....sod global quest info. on our shard were lucky to find any info. on even the EM events being run...really seems like were slipping back to the ''in the know'' dark days...soooo sad....and dont frigging flame this cause is sodding so true!!

They actually incorporated the Criers, so a simple "news" would have alerted you. i noticed a few days ago. i've been searching for Avery for a while.

Looks like they are in fact doing the right thing, but it's not applauded or recognized.

It doesn't work that way. You can't possibly be expected to log on every day and head to the criers and say news for months then one day out of nowhere theres a event. There has to be notice before hand especially timed events,at least a week.

This seems like a really bad way to reward a quest, with it bieng only once per character. Some people are getting really good rewards, while others get nothing decent, but since it's once per character you can't keep trying for a better drop. They could have come up with a better system than this...

They could have come up with a better system than this...

Uhm, its once per character.. per book.. and there are multiple books. A new one each day.

So you get multiple tries per character.

You have got to be kidding me? I have to go take a look. I stopped even looking at the town cryers, since you would usually get news that was a year old or so?

It is the same idea a crying wolf, in a way. After you check the cryer for the 800th time in 6 months and there is no new news,(you are still being told about ToT) you get resigned to the fact the cryers have been forgotten about.

The pic posted above, that had a cliloc error, looks to be new as well. They took the Frostguard and replaced the cold stuff with poison. Looks like we will eventually get a tally for each resist type, hhmm wonder what each will be named?

I said I would NOT have known if I did NOT check stratics.

The events are posted on the site and I post them on the Europa Forum. Sometimes the EM gives us 24 hours notice, sometimes longer, But I post them when I see them. Sorry THP if you don't always see them, I really do my best to let everyone know.

I mean, there's a million MORE appropriate things to be badgering Mythic about, and you're choosing the one that is fairly well industry standard.

Industry standard...? lol wut? I didn't know it was an industry standard, to announce a new release 12+ hours after it was already active. Generally there's a "Hey! We got this coming up!" not "Oh! at server up... well... today, we implemented a new quest that didn't pass any QA, around 12 hours ago, you get new items that aren't even named correctly! Oh, also, if you're not refreshing Uo.com every hour or so, you probably won't hear of it till you randomly check stratics! We love you!

Yeah I understand that...2 books so far....7 characters....means 14 attempts and got 1 Relic frag and the rest junk items...which means if it continues like that then it's a bogus way to give rewards...some people getting multiple good items while others end up with nothing for the same amount of effort...needs to be a better way.

There are several outlets for information. On Atlantic the event girl at the Luna bank was telling everyone to go see Avery, this was at server up on friday.

Good for Atlantic , but on Sonoma and Great Lakes the town cryer is still spouting about The Tokuno Treasures Have Returned. Every day I see returning players and new players running on a wild goose chase.

Just FYI I talked to the dude at the tavern, ran off to glow and double clicked the book, then went and got a reward. Now I can't see the book in the ruins at all, even holding a lantern. So I think doing the quest out of order is bad. I'm going to try on another character and see if the book appears.

I can't get confirmation, but I get the feeling that what happened was the following -

1. Event was supposed to start Friday, with a client patch Thursday or Friday with the clilocs for the new items.

2. the servers got updated Friday morning with the quest information.

3. Some annoying programming glitch kept delaying the release of the patch; possibly the fact that for the first day, there was an error in the publish so that Dan was giving Crag's items by mistake.

4. After working on a fix, they decided to announce the event late, and fix the server (mini-pub or hotfix) with the saturday morning fix, hoping that the late announcement would reduce the number of people that got the old stuff from the Dan glitch.

5. As of Saturday night, the client patch still wasn't done, possibly because a couple of item names weren't near enough an emergency enough to pay the overtime to get it implemented.
