Does holding Fallen spellbook cause double damage with normal spells?

Does holding Fallen Mystics spellbook cause double damage from normal magery spells? I sure hope the answer is yes.

and slayer talismans dont work for mages either. Would cause a problem if mages had a conjurer's trinket *and* grimoire for 4x damage

No, weapon slayers dont work for spells.

I do not think a spellbook qualifies as a "weapon"......

That is a mysticism spellbook, it is not a weapon.......

Weapon/talisman slayer = Damage Increase.

Spell-book slayer = Spell Damage Increase.

hmm i dont think u can get the spellbooks anymore now. could be wrong but im sure with the houses in the abyss won that you cant get them anymore. Alot of people do have them and still selling them, ive seen them on ATL luna for 10mil and up. If you see them for 10mil or any lower i would buy it if ur looking for one.

Have to remember there is a 300% hard cap to PvM damage, so there really aren't any problems, and there wouldn't be any problems if a mage had more slayer options. They just nerfed mages one day because "talismans weren't designed to be used by mages," boooo!

But yeah, if I try to use a Vermin Slayer with my Repond, I do no additional damage to rats because I've already hit my cap w/ Item DI and Repond and everything else I'm using (on my dexxer).

Are the prices on these spellbooks going up or down? I mean, can you still get the books? Should I buy now, before the price goes up or wait for them to come down?

The Fallen Mystic Spellbook still drops off of the Stygian Dragon so hopefully prices will fall further. I see them on vendors in Luna-Atlantic for up to 25mil, but have not really seen one sell for more than 12.

Again, you don't know how to read. Lord Chaos asked if a weapon slayer worked for spells, to which I replied, no. I'm not sure if you have "selective reading" issues but it's rather annoying.

The way I understood it was the PvM damage cap was 400% including slayers.

No. Weapon damage is capped at 3x damage, Spell damage is not similarly capped.

Mysticism usually functions just like Magery.
Mystic spells take advantage of the Slayer property.
They also benefit from Inscription, and SDI, and PvP SDI for Mysticism is 15% as well.
It has 2/6 casting, and 70 Mysticism lower's Chivalry's 4/6 casting cap to 2/6.
Just like magery.

Well, then correct me if I understood it wrong.

Did you perhaps mean that the slayer worked "also" for magery spells besides and along with mysticism spells ?

The way I understood was that the meaning of the wording was that the slayer worked only for magery spells (implying that it did NOT work for mysticism spells) and not that it actually worked also for magery spells alongside and together with mysticism spells.........

So, my understanding was wrong and the slayer actually works for BOTH magery AND mysticism spells ??
