Vendor Question

So i had a vendor holding gold @ a house in luna. I guess this house got traded and now my vendor is gone(it was on auto renew before). It's not on the house sign.

Any thoughts on how to get it back?

Im just curious as to where my vendor went to. If somehow because the house was traded it unchecked auto-renew does that mean my vendor just vanished or can i retrieve it somehow.

Try clicking on the house sign once. There should be an option to retrieve items. As for the vendor itself, you need to get the homeowner to redeed one for you.

When a house is traded, the vendor contracts quit being renewed. You can retrieve your vendor's items and gold via the house sign context menu for a short period of time after your vendor drops (about a week as I recall). After that week all your gold/items go into the house's moving crate and are accessible by the house owner to do with it what they will. If its been more than a week, your best bet is to contact the new house owner and hope they agree to give you back your gold. Good luck!

How many times has it happened that, for one reason or another, a player has been unable to play for 7 days ? UO players might have trouble in the game should they go on vacation for 7 days or more, just to make an example ??

This is too open to unfortunate things in the game to happen for my liking....

Way more time that merely a week should be allowed, IMHO.

I find it very hard to think of even one circumstance that would cause someone to pick up and leave home immediately, and not come back for a week, with no access to computers or the internet for the whole time. Barring a tornado or hurricane (earthquake for those on the west coast) there shouldn't be anything that would keep you from taking care of the vendor prior to leaving. Obviously this person just decided to stop playing and didn't pay attention to the vendor. If he had been, a week would have been more than sufficient.

We've got bigger fish to fry than a to start messing with a timer that there's nothing wrong with, not to mention that you're not even taking the owner of the house into consideration, and the fact that the timer is there to help the house owner, not the vendor owner.

Vendor holding gold.....................key words. Vendors should not be banks for players, and this is what alot do. I say, (someone second the motion)...if your vendor goes 7 days with no items for sale, or empty, they get yanked.

It's bad enough we get to use them to hold our bods....you being a luna vendor get no pity here.

I agree the vendor timer is just fine so home owners are not stuck looking for plp.

The BOD storage had been argued already. True it is abused. The reason the way it is now is so players can display what BODs they are willing and have to trade. My expierence your never can keep up on Smith BODs unless you script ingots. My 18x18 is 1/3 full of smith BOD books. With the need for PoF wont be tossing those out on the front lawn anytime soon.

This, sir, is a blatant falsity. It's very easy to keep up on bods without script mining. You have to be proactive in obtaining them, but it's simple enough to accomplish.

It seems from what some have said that i'm looking for pity, thats not the case at all. I was just curious where the vendor went. The one dude was right about it going to the moving crate and i did get my golds back from the house owner.

Glad you got your stuff back.

But the key point here, is it's 7 days *after* the vendor falls. If you are taking care of your vendor, he should be paid up for a coupla weeks...so we are talking 3 weeks time here. If you're not keeping up with him for 3 weeks at a time, hmmmm.

he was paid for like 200000 years cuz he had 155 mil on him and 0 items.

The problem was the house got xferred w/o me knowing about it. Kind of a bad part to the system.
