Transferring to Chessy...

Hello all... I am a returning player to UO. I just recently got back my original account and am considering transferring from Catskills to Chessy. I really dislike the people on catskills and their playstyles. I'm hoping to get a better start on this server. I don't have much right now but am hoping to get a better playing experience on this server.
Here are the types of characters I plan on bringing over. 120 tamer/vet/lore/peace/music with 110 magery and like 70 disco on a ss.
120 blacksmith/tailoring 100 tinkering, carpentry, arms lore, mining and LJ (some skills are soulstoned)
120 magery, med, eval, 100 necro/ss, 100 inscription, 110 focus, 80 poisoning (some skills are soulstoned)
120 fencing/parry, 100 bushido, 115 tactics, 110 anatomy, 100 healing (some other skills on soulstones)

plus I have a thief character in there too with 100 hiding/lp/carto and the rest of the stuff.

Hopefully I will be welcomed onto this server

I'm also looking to buy a Zento 18x18... preferably out of the south or east gate.

Your best bet is to go elsewhere besides Chessy. Chessy has become the home of scriptors, hackers and drama kings and queens. I myself have moved from Chessy for these reasons and so has many others. You might want to explore other shards before making your decision.

Well I want to go to a shard with a medium population where prices are under control... every shard is full of scripters, hackers and drama kings/queens..lol

Are there any good pvm/pvp guilds on this server that are friendly and don't spend all day trash talking?

I'm just hoping to move to a better server than catskills where items are up for sale at reasonable prices... not a lot play on cats anymore it seems and there isn't much for sale anymore.

I think you would like Chessy. It is home of 1,000 ideas and new opportunity. Allot of great things come out of this shard that are adopted game wide. I think you would truly enjoy the shard.

TY! That is the kind of post I like to see. I'm hoping to make it my new home as soon as I unload my house on catskills and try to find one for sale on Chessy... Prefer a Zento gate house

I think youd enjoy Chessy also. There are alot of decent guilds to get involved with. I recommend makin a newbie char and just exploring it.

I'd have to agree with Gareth and Tiger Lily. I think you will like it on Chessy. Great people here. Like TL said, might make a newb char to roam, explore and get your feet wet.

We have enjoyed it so much that we have since transferred quite a few characters from Cats and Lake Austin. There are enough people on the server so it does not feel abandoned, there are always people around, but not so many people that you have to constantly fight for spawn locations.

No better community than on Chessy. It has the most developed player run townships and events. Plus, its got yours truly. Once you go Chessy....you never go back.

Well I have some premade characters on here for xsharding purposes. I have explored and like what I see. Everything looks better than catskills and there is more on the market. I would just love to get a vendor house back and start up again helping the people of the shard. I used to run an excellent Zento vendor house... and would love to do so on this server.

welcome to chessy. you made a good choice insofar as chessy has a very active merchant scene. It was the one thing I noticed when I transfered over from sonoma 2 years ago.

I saw you looking for the 18/18 in zento via guild chat over the weekend. I hope you found something.

was wondering if you decided on a guild yet? Another cool thing about Chessy is that there are guilds for almost any playstyle.

I haven't brought my characters over yet, but I do have the tokens to do so. I'm just waiting till I find the right Zento home to set up my merchant business. I am still looking and asking around... Getting ready to make a new thread to find certain owners of houses I am interested in, but I only need 1 house.
