See... all you have is that the kid said a GM was holding the spot, for all you know, it was the game doing what the game was supposed to do and he was tricking you out of the spot.
I see 3 things in that long post, correct me if I'm wrong.
"I was there the whole time"
"He told me GM was holding it."
"1 and 2 repeated about 2 more times."
Just stop to think about it for a second. Is it not possible that he was just telling you to "bugger off?" Maybe get you playing the sympathy card so he gets the house? That there actually was no GM just a game mechanic he was taking your ignorance of for granted?
And if there was a gm, that maybe, the game screwed him over in what he was trying to do? Or, since there's two plots, that, maybe, he made a mistake, told a story to get you to leave, and tried to place a house to place hold it, and ended up doing it wrong thus another person placed. (I'm not sure if this is even possible, your posts are beyond defensive thus making it troublesome to read to see exactly what happened as you're too busy trying to defend yourself, or at least that's how it appears. Again, my mistake if not).
Or, the GM made a mistake. (Favortism? I highly doubt it. Worst case is just another GM not knowing WTF He/she is doing.)
Well then... if that was the case.. all is fair in love and war. I was right to call others to place then.. Why should he be the only one to try after his screw up? The only thing I did was let folks judge for themselves.
You know I would of not done ANYTHING if the guy had not gotten rude and loud mouth with me. All I did was offer my help and he started calling me foul names.. (accually it started with his buddies with him). I don't need that kind of crap in game. He wanted to be an ass and call ma a **tch and other names. I just abliged him about being a witch.
I can be your best friend in game or I can be your worse nightmare. To get slapped while offereing help I EVEN OFFERED MY HOUSE to him because I was moveing... then RIGHT after that offer I was told to **** off and was called a *itch. Wow.. someone offereing a FREE Luna house then being told to **** off *itch????? Put the shoe on the other foot and what would you have done.
He said GM was there helping. IF what he told my daughter and I was true, then there needed to be a protest and a show of folks to protest against the GM actions. If it WAS NOT true, then not only is he a lire??? he is inconsiderate, ungrateful, foul mouth and stupid for turning down a free house RIGHT next to the place he was trying to place.
In either case, this person really deserved to lose his spot. And I can only say that I am glad I am moveing off of Lake Austin. It's sad in a way because my newest acct charactors were born there.
And for the record. For those that have been with me from the old UO boards to this one.. (my date is off by about 2 years I beleive) know me as being a truthful person. I have NEVER brought an issue to the boards that was not true. I have been around a very long time. There is no need in game for harshness. It is sad when offering help to be treated like I was. Where has the ethics gone in people??
I still beleive in GM's. If not abuseing the help system, they are MORE than willing to come help. I don't use the help system very often because I know they are very busy. But this last 2 weeks I have had to call them 3 times. Twice to remove objects from the terrain that didn't belong there.. and oh by the way.. the first time I paged for that I asked them if they could remove a carpet that was elevated and was preventing house placement.. I was told that they were not allowed to assist in house placement. I revamed my page and asked them to remove items that did not belong in the terrain. The objects were removed. I was able to place. So right there is a PERFECT example of GM's not being able to help with house placement. When it was re-worded, I got what I needed.) And the last page was to make my chicken coops belong to me again and each indivudal chicken lizard and battle chicken had to be fixed. That was a grad total of 80 chicken lizards and battle chickens. Wait time in the que??? Less than 5 minutes.
So.. all in all IF the GM was not there helping and holding that spot for him.. then it was HIM that started all the comotion for lieing. And IF the GM was there helping him... evidently the GM could not help him place because he lost his house spot.
So now the new question..... Was it GM favoratisim??? Or was it just another tweek crying wolf because HE screwed up???
And now to answer your questions spacificially...
"I was there the whole time"
Yes I was there the WHOLE time. As I said I was arrangeing to get ready to move another char to Catskills.
"He told me GM was holding it."
Not only did he tell ME that. My daughter and one other person was with us. And you can see that in the screenshot that I made. AND the argument was not heated at that time. When I offerd help he SPICIFICALLY told us.. and I quote.. "No thank you. I am haveing trouble putting my house here again. I am talking to a GM right now. He is holding the spot for me until I can place again." It was RIGHT after that statement did I take the screenshot of what the house placement tool said when we tried to place. It was UNAVAILABLE at that time. Remember. I SAW when he went to resize. I also SAW when he lifted the plot. That is when I offered my help.
"1 and 2 repeated about 2 more times."
My answer to those repeated about 2 more times.
Just stop to think about it for a second. Is it not possible that he was just telling you to "bugger off?" Maybe get you playing the sympathy card so he gets the house?
Hmm I wonder about that. Yeah. I guess that was possible. HOWEVER.. remember I TOLD him (and so did my daughter) that we were moveing shards. We did not need another plot... offering MY plot to him. Sympathy card... Maybe just plain stupid???
That there actually was no GM just a game mechanic he was taking your ignorance of for granted?
I was and am not ignorant. Yes.. I thought about him maybe panicking and not quite listening to what I had to offer him because he was in shock that after he took up his house he could not place again. That's why I took "my ignorance" and offered him my plot in case he could not fix his. Then his friends butted in and that's when the name calling started... Thus abligeing him in BEING a witch.
And if there was a gm, that maybe, the game screwed him over in what he was trying to do?
Oh well. After 12 years of playing.. we all get screwed out of something some time or another. It happends. But GM's are NOT allowed to correct some STUPID actions that WE do.... i.e. Deleting some VERY rare artifact and asking the GM to give it back to you. Gingerbread houses dissipearing after chopping them to move them. Mouse holes dissipearing after they were chopped... Placeing a house then removeing it and setting a weekly timer then asking a GM to PLEASE give you back a house spot and takeing the timer off... VERY laughable indeed. So why should HE be any different than the rest of us? Whey should HE get the special treatment?
AOr, since there's two plots, that, maybe, he made a mistake, told a story to get you to leave, and tried to place a house to place hold it, and ended up doing it wrong thus another person placed. (I'm not sure if this is even possible, your posts are beyond defensive thus making it troublesome to read to see exactly what happened as you're too busy trying to defend yourself, or at least that's how it appears. Again, my mistake if not).
No need to defend myself buddy. I'm not the one that screwed up and decided to lie about it. I could have placed after the timer was lifted. I could have placed... in fact when the gump came up.. I placed.. or plotted 4 TIMES and did not accept before the 2 plots were placed... LOL You HAD to have been there to see that.. LOL too funney indeed.
Or, the GM made a mistake. (Favortism? I highly doubt it. Worst case is just another GM not knowing WTF He/she is doing.)
Maybe... or he relized that someone was ACCUALLY there watching the favoratisim happening.. and others showing up to protest for that favoratism and the GM knew his game was up and released the spot. Who knows.
The bottom line is the guy screwed up. Wanted a GM to give back to him what HE screwed up. In the end, all was fair in love and war. Now there are 2 plots there.. one of which was the orriginal placer... So whats the gripe?? He STILL got a house spot.
