So, Does Warden Of Abyss House Runes only work for Owner?

Got a rune to the new house spot just above cavern - but get message I cannot teleport into that area.

Does this means that its only the owner that can recal in?

I also tried to mark there, but got msg I cannot mark rune at this area.

Other member of public will either use house teleporter (if the owner placed one) or get friended to the house in order to recall or teleport to there.

that's sorta lame means basically everyone will be recalling in at that spot as shortcut :/ like living next to a highway. should be owner only

i have chars on the house owner acct that cannot recall there.i half to use a teleporter but it is a issue thier working on.

The bad news is that theres a rule about the recall and teleport tiles, only can be used by owner, co-ownwer and friend list, so i cant make a public teleport to the house. This was told by Mesanna herself, so not much i can do about it sorry.

As fost said, half of his characters on his HOUSE ACCT can not recall into there, the other half can. So he has set up a Public Teleporter from a vendor home anyone can use on Napa. I could mark there & recall there on a NON Friended or Co-owner'd character, I could also mark & recall there on a friended chara, you just have to mark very close to the house sign. As Mesanna advised fost, it is an issue they are aware of & working on getting it corrected.

I hope whoever owns any of the houses never decides they want vendors. That's what I would have done with the spot.

All I wanna say about this whole thing is these houses set a really, really BAD precedent. That is how UO is going though I guess. One bad precedent after another.

How so? It takes me all of a 30 seconds to reach the Abyss from a recall allowed spot on fire island and maybe a minute via the tomb of kings. Neither has any difficult spawn to deal with and what spawn is there can be avoided entirely by running on foot.

I wouldn't have minded having one of the spots, but ultimately they are a novelty. I would have had to open a second account, because I would not have given up my house spot that is free of spawn including lured renowneds and the like.

I know the one house at the Cavern of the Discarded on GL has several public teleporters that are located in very convenient locations and they also put in a portal to get out easily.... as well they offer the public the use of a sacrificial ankh, soulforge and smiths forge.

Truly built for the public... as was intended I think...

Did Mesanna actually say that you were forbidden to open your house to the public and have a house teleporter set to anyone, or did she just tell you FYI that only friends, co-owners, or house owners would be able to teleport to the house? I think most of the house owners understood it as FYI so that they didn't mark a bunch of runes that can't be used.

Tried to use a public teleporter set up on Baja and was told I could not teleport there. Prob. because I didn't do the quest to get into the Abyss to begin with. Might be the same thing with runes. LOL

As Malag-aste said, the gargoyle house on GL is public and you CAN teleport in from 3 other buildings. The vendor house in the SE most corner of Luna, The Nameless Rune Library (directly south of the Yew moongate), and the High Council Civic Center (Compassion Grove).

The teleporters are set to public and you can definately come and go without being friended as long as you have done either Abyss quest (this was recently fixed, as originally _anyone_ could use it regardless of quest status). Friends can mark a rune near the house sign - haven't tried it on a non-friended char yet. You can recall in, but not gate in.

The Outpost even has two vendors selling essential adventuring supplies.
