Yes Cal, I brought this up when the gypsy camps and tents were first brought up, and sure enough, you guys didn't heed the warning given.



Would you please see that the moongate areas are exempted from being spawn locations? This causes problems. :(

The gate can be blocked by the chests and/or the tent itself. Then there's the umpteen number of players that have recall spots marked around that gate, which is the most used gate on the shard next to Luna gate.

Protesting at the use of moongates? Maybe we should all listen to the gypsies, leave the moongate at home at take a horse :)

I don't see a problem in those screenshots, But I guess potentially it could block, Unless the code makes sure theres atleast a viable path to the moongate, Which is then fine.

My first "house" was a tent just off the road between Britain and Trinsic...almost at the bridge. To this day I still haven't decided if it was a good or bad thing to get rid of the tents as player housing.

The code does not. The chests can and have blocked access to the gate before. It's just worse now that we have the tents as well.

Aha I see, I have never noticed this before, Glad a fix is in work for it. :)

i dont see what the problem is.
Its not like you have to wait for the phases of the moon to get to the right town anymore. this is hardly an inconvenience.

Blocking access to the Moongate is probably a minir crime of some kind. A lot of the NPCs don't seem to have Recall, and as such probably depend upon the Moongates for basic transportation.

Also the merchants' wives will be upset with their husbands being tempted by gypsy women, who show their ankles seductively and belly dance.

Recall runes can be blocked by a rabbit hopping down the street. That's not an issue.

As to the gates being made temporarily out of service by this kind of appearance, I also don't really see that as an issue.

It's a dynamic world with dynamic spawn...

My opinion: leave 'em be.

Rabbits move. Tents and chests don't, and neither do the wooden & metal chests, cauldrons w/fire, barrels, or kegs. At least not until the camp despawns, which could and would put the moongate out of commission for quite a while. There's no need to inconvenience that many people, and that's exactly what it is, a big inconvenience.

Rabbits may move after some time. Recall rune spots are blocked all the time by stuff in the world. The camp despawns in just a few minutes. It's not like you can't recall to another, nearby location and get to where you want to go. And if you can't, well... I'm not sure what you do when other runes are temporarily blocked. Really, it's not an issue.

Frankly, I'd rather see them spending time adding new craftables like the wooden tables in the Yew courthouse, or doing a minor revamp to one of the dungeons than worrying about a couple of minutes of "inconvenience" that a blocked rune causes.

As for the moongates... there's plenty of them in the world. If one's down, use another.

I say, permanently block fel yew gate with a tent... Too much house silliness occurs there.

*shrug* gypsy camps have always spawned by the Brit and Trinsic gates, so it's not surprising.

Since they despawn at some point I'd count it as an annoyance and not an emergency.

Now if they were spawning constantly around the gate, I'd say the gypsy union was griefing.

While you're working on a fix for that, can you please "fix" the issue with the third chest that the tent spawns with, if I try to open the 3rd chest, it says "You can't do that".

It's usually the one that the original tents came with, located along the back wall of the tent.

There's also line-of-sight issues with chests spawning inside the tent, next to the tent flap, I can't always see the proper line of sight in order to pop a chest in that location if unlocked, and be far enough away to not get hit by the explosion or poison gas.

FWIW, do you think it would be possible to bring back player owned tents? Even if it's just a house add-on deed or a collection of tent piece graphics, it would be marvellous for some unique house deco ideas.

It has already been said that the 3rd chest is part of the tent, just ignore it.

I hadn't thought about the 'line of sight' problem. It doesn't affect me, I'm on Siege. Shaking the box doesn't work there, you have to actually remove the trap :D
