new pet bug?

Anyone else experienced their pets to disappear for good in the last time?
A fully loaded beetle (animal lore: wonderfully happy one) I commanded to stay yesterday in my house. Today it's gone - checked the area around, nothing (law spawn area) from my private house.
Also a dreadmare disappeared from Siege that way!
Of course EA doesn't refund any items in my experience, so be alarmed and take good care of your pets when they are not mounted and you log out.

I'm sorry, that's not a bug. Loaded pack animals do not autostable. They never have done. If your beetle is loaded you must be mounted on it when you log out. If not it simply stays in game until it goes wild and eventually de-spawns.

Not sure what the circumstances surrounding the dreadmare would be, but in most cases when a fighting pet is lost it happens this way:
Hunter and pet are out hunting close to server down. Hunter recalls home when server down message comes on or at the very last minute (say 4.55am). The server made its last save BEFORE this time. Hunter logs off and goes to bed. The server comes up (around 5.15am) using the last save point, which was before the hunter logged off. The pet is returned to wherever it was at that save point, but the hunter can't be. He's fast asleep. Sometimes a pet can be found by returning to wherever you were before server down, if it's not too late. If it's too long before the hunter logs in again the pet will go wild.

Pack animals do not log out when you do. They must be empty. As far as the dreadmare goes, i've had these ever since they were introduced and never encountered even a single problem with them. Anyone that lost a dread was prolly user error, im sorry to say.

thanks for both your answers! so it takes 18 hours for a pet to go wild? haven't experienced that in the past so I'm wondering about this happening.
