[UO Herald] Factions Test Shard - Opening Today!

Greetings!

We have been working hard on making some major updates to the Factions system, and we are now commencing public testing of these changes. They represent some significant changes to the Factions system. As such, we feel it is important to do extensive public testing and gather as much feedback as we can.

Later this afternoon we will open a Test Server named “Factions”. You are invited to jump in and playtest this early version of Factions system changes, which include new fortresses, an updated score and ranking system, and in-game leaderboards.

Details of the test have been posted on the Stratics forums here: http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=194079. The Factions test server is scheduled to open at 3:00 PM ETD on 14 April 2010.

I love the new changes. However, imo, all of the faction artifacts should be able to be worn by all ranks (aside from 0) for the first month or so. This allows people who earned the points to use the current artifacts in their suits to not have to spend gold to remake their suit, just to reach what they were.

It'll balance out in the end, after the first month. But it'd be a big inconvenience to have to rework everything, especially if your suit relied heavily upon the artifacts that you earned.

Cal, I highly suggest doing this.

As such, it is no longer possible to transfer points between players.

That sound you hear is hearts breaking. Hearts of people who exploited the system by killing their newbie alts to get the best gear, only to hide in tram. Never having any interest in earning them in faction combat.

o and i would like to see soemthing done with the war horses, instead of war horses lets have a selection like llamas, horses, and ostards.also it would be nice if these where just something u get for being in a faction. not based on town control but mainly rank.

Personally, I love well done stats, but in the context of an MMO I don't see any way to prevent stats and leaderboards from being gamed to the point where they are a joke and completely meaningless.

Love the new bases.. it leaves a lot to the imagination as to how to defend. Now if I could just get imbuing essence without farming it on test.

Yeah, but they won't be meaningless. They give you ranks, and....you know, items.

I was able to fully explore free tradesmen base without signing up on the stone outside. Very nifty.

Not too keen about having housing abut faction base tiles at legions.

Do we want test comments in test shard forum fel ruleset forum or factions forums, lol.
