just popped into Holy city on SOnoma and the undead nitely spawn is there! first time ever i believe. Check your shards too perhaps they just hit the switch for us hehe.

I would like to know the purpose and plan behind the removal of artifact imbuing. The ability to imbue arties was a great improvement as far as I am concerned.

Made alot of useless arties/marties useful. Balanced by the fact that the arties will now be condemned to a definite death (can't be PoF'd).

Most arties including the new ones have 5 or more properties, which blocks the addition of more properties. Also they have only 450 max intensities, further limiting the usage.



So why? Who asked for this?

Will this be reviewed and re-enabled later on?

Is it to reduce management/hassle of evaluating arties that may become too powerful (like the few arties that was blocked from being imbu-able)?

Is this a temporary thing to prevent possible abuse of new arties?

Something else you may want to look into asap Devs. The swing speed on a boomerang (which has base swing 2 secs) doesn't swing at 1.25 no matter how much stamina or SSI you have on that weapon. The animation seems to slow down the swinging speed making it slower than it should be. Throwing can't ever be good unless this is fixed. Thanks.

I took the quest for the undead putrid gargioyles and did the spawn on baja outisde the king of the tombs entrance. Not once did the quest acknowledge that I killed any. I think the quest is broken or something.

The red named weak undead in Holy city are for the gargy abyss quest. Still have yet to find the Putrid Undead Gargoyles. effete dont count.


Lefty, where was the Putrid your talking about? was it actually named Putrid Undead Gargoyle?

If so we'll get an announcement later today.

I don't think it's active because I imbued some artifacts today on Legends. I was hoping it would be active though. Maybe next week. :)

Spawns might be tweaked, but Mini-boss loot isn't changed yet, so I doubt Nav etc are different. People are dead right now though, hardly anyone does anything on any shard.

Also, quickest way to test Publish is to open your paperdoll or context menu yourself; if your paperdoll just has your plain name, or you see you can change title through context, you know the Publish is here in full ;P.

I sure hope they put up a message stating that Publish 65 is now Live on all Shards. A couple of times, they didn't quite say.

Might want to check your quest roster and see if you have 2 quests that require you to kill undead putrid gargoyles (or kill any of the same creature or fetch any of the same item).

I was doing the quest for the bone machete recipe and when I got to the part where I have to turn in bones, the NPC refused to acknowledge that I had completed that part and was carrying the required amount of bones.

Forty-five frustrating minutes later I thought to check my other quests and sure enough I had an SA quest that also asked for bones.

Once I resigned the SA quest I was able to complete the bone machete quest.

This was a couple of months ago and yes I sent in feedback about the issue.

On Test Center, one "Putrid Undead Gargoyle" (non-effete) is also spawning at night in the Holy City together with the effete undeads. It has a special reddish hue and it is much stronger than the effetes - it was casting a vast array of Mysticism spells.
I don't know if it carries any special loot or if it counts as a quest creature: unfortunately the Holy City spawn disappeared at daybreak before I could kill it...

That's interesting maybe they have a rare chance to spawn i killed some on ches for like 5 mins and i got bored, didn't see any Putrid Undead Gargoyle

Just looted a gargish ring from a usagralem ballem on Origin that has +3 Mysticism for a mod. Also a gargish ring on a toxic slith with +1 Mysticism. And now a gargish bracelet with +6 Throwing and +5 Mysticism from a toxic slith.

Also looted a regular ring with the +3 Mysticism mod from a coral snake on Origin. Looted a regular bracelet with +9 Mysticism from a dungeon treasure chest.

Putrid Undead Gargoyles

I had a chance early this morning to fight some Putrid Undead Gargoyles on Origin. They were part of the undead spawn in the Holy City that occurred there between 7 am and 1 pm shard time (i.e., for half an hour).

Below are a few screen shots. I was doing the Percolem quest, so I didn't take a lot of time to look at the loot. I can tell you that out of the 13 I killed (nope didn't finish the quest this time around because of doing screen shots), 5 corpses had the Infused Glass Staves. There was around 1700 gold per corpse along with a lot of mysticism scrolls and assorted gargish weapons, armor, and jewelry and mysticism regs. One corpse also had an Undying Flesh imbuing reg on it. Wouldn't be surprised if there was also an ancient tome but I missed it because of the rush to try to kill 20 in such a limited time. The respawn rate was very fast and I think there were 2 at at one point. Most of the time, though, I could only locate one out at a time.

They definitely use Mysticism. They were summoning rising colossus and animated weapon and my tamer was taking damage even while standing at a distance and healing the pet with greater heal spells. I guess I need to read up on Mysticism spells. I have a hunch using spells around these guys may be a very bad idea. I was able to at times stand next to the pet and heal it up with bandages and then back off as necessary if I started to take some damage. Being able to run around a corner of a building was helpful at times.

The first screen shot shows the "unflagged" color of the putrid undead gargoyles. Unfortunately, it's almost the same color as the rest of the monsters in that spawn when they're flagged on you--a bit confusing when you're running around trying to find another one under a deadline!


I hope this information is helpful.

EDIT: They respawned at 7 pm shard time too! So it looks like they're spawning every hour for 30 minutes. Woot!!! By the time I killed my 20 for the Percolem quest, I had 6 of the infused glass staves. After killing approximately 30, I had 8 of the staves.

My guess is they were shooting for Friday.

Then fell behind, thus pushing it into the Holiday Weekend.

Whereupon they were like, "screw it, we'll just release it next week."

So my guess is, Monday or Tuesday, depending on if they are willing to come in to work tonight to finalize it.

There was a big discussion about this in another thread that I'm too lazy to find the link for. A few of us were of the opinion that this had to do with the new properties on the new SA artifacts. Either they didn't know what weight to give them, or it would require developer bandwidth they weren't prepared to commit at this time.

Frarc, on Origin, there was only one time that I think I saw two of the Putrid Undead Gargoyles out at the same time. However, as soon as you killed one, another one seemed to spawn almost immediately and often within close range of where you killed the last one. I think it will be possible to get all 20 needed for the Percolem quest killed during the 30-minute spawn time if you don't run into trouble with any one of them. Not sure if it will be possible to do it, however, if someone else is also hunting them there at the same time, but I guess we'll find out!

If the spawn times continue as they are now on Origin (i.e., 30 minutes out of every hour), maybe it won't be impossible to get the quest done in a half hour instead of dragging it out over several hours. If you can't do it in half an hour, I guess the good news is you don't have to trek through a dungeon to finish it or just stand way down in a dungeon and wait for a half hour for the spawn to start over again. Perhaps it will also help that you can only do that quest once every 24 hours.

It didn't feel quite as hairy to finish as the maddening horror one. I suspect the dream wraith quest is probably not being done very often just because you have to go to Fel and almost finish a champ spawn to complete it (assuming you can kill 20 of them, to boot). As a result, I think the quest for killing the putrid undead gargoyles will be very popular. I hope the devs will be watching the spawn times and quantities very closely and adjusting them as necessary, especially on more populous shards, so trying to complete that quest doesn't turn into just another over-camped and frustrating experience for most players like killing Tyball's Shadow was in the first few weeks after SA came out. Something that needs to be tested is whether or not everyone doing the quest would get credit for killing a quest creature if more than one person kills the same monster. I think other quests have worked that way, i.e., you just have to do some of the damage, so I hope this quest will too. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone on Origin that can help test that with me, especially if the publish goes live later today or tomorrow. I won't be able to do it again until early Monday.

I wish more people would make developed characters on Origin to help with testing stuff. All they would have to do is use their characters that they created there to participate in EM events. But I guess perhaps testing just isn't as exciting as killing stuff for rare items you can turn around and sell for millions or cart off the shard to your home somewhere else.

I'm well aware of this, having turned ethereal in a recent patch, but there's been quite a bit of testing, both on TC, and on Origin... just kinda waiting until the patch is released to go out hunting again. *shrugs*
Was hoping for a weekend release to have plenty of time to do stuff.
