Loot from a pixie [renowned]: 1599 gold; 1 perfect emerald; two magery spell scrolls (levels 5 and 6); a bow; a deer mask; a bracelet; gargish cloth arms; gargish leather kilt; studded gloves; glass staff. All the loot was ho-hum and I left it on the corpse. And as usual, there were several dark wisps trapped underground--two in the main area and one in the corner of the nearby housing plot.

Loot from a gray goblin mage [renowned]: 801 gold, 1 ecru citrine, 1 level 6 magery spell scroll, 6 spider's silk, 1 gargish plate kilt, 1 shortblade, 1 chainmail coif, 1 citrine. Loot was very poor quality.

Loot from a green goblin alchemist [renowned]: 844 gold, 1 ecru citrine, 1 goblin blood, 1 emerald, 1 tattered remnants of an ancient scroll, dread sword, gargish cloth arms, gargish stone leggings, longsword, platemail arms, 1 raw chicken leg. Poor quality on the loot.

Edited to add: About 6-7 of the spawn were stuck in rocks. My tamer was able to eventually kill all of them by casting spells on them as they walked back and forth; however, I doubt that a character with no spell casting ability would have been able to kill them.

One final comment about the renowneds I encountered tonight: It seems as if they may be showing up slightly later in the spawn.

So I guess no one has gotten the new items off of Slasher, etc. yet?
I only saw three other people all evening on the Underworld side of the Abyss: One was working the goblin spawn; one showed up long enough to kill an acid ele renowned while I was cleaning up the rest of that spawn (guess he saw an opportunity when I made my post about the peerless keys LOL); and I don't know where the other person was headed. Didn't hear anything in General chat about anyone going to the Abyss to kill stuff. All evening general chat consisted entirely of the usual cruddy PvP smack talk. Eventually even that died down and I guess those folks went to bed or off to another shard to find a livelier audience.

Hmmm okay I will try and venture down there to Slasher and see if I can find anyone hehe.

Agh. lol Slasher ate me with a white screen paralyze :(. I'm going to have to find some sort of way to mage solo him until others get on :p

The guy near Royal City told me to visit the quest giver in Holy City, He then told me to see a guy in Castle Britannia, who then told me to go upstairs and see Dexter, Who then told me he has nothing for me at this time..

So unless its a 2nd tier quest or something I'm not sure.

Just now on Origin, I was able to bring up the imbuing gump while targeting an invasion heavy crossbow.
Thanks Tina I was wondering about this as i have a lot of invasion weapons!

Does anyone who plays on Origin know whether the Holy City night spawn is actually spawning, and if so, at what time?
We have a little while to go to double check on Origin. The spawn should happen between 7 pm and 1 am according to the in-game clocks while in Ter Mur. An hour of game time equals 5 minutes of RL time. So every two hours of RL time, you get a new 30-minute spawn in the Holy City.

It's about 8:30 am in the Holy City at the moment, so check in about 52 minutes or so.

Thanks Tina -- do you know how to get Imbuing Skill in skills gump? I was going to test my crossbow out to imbue it to test for thread and I can't find Imbuing in my skills :/.

So I just made a macro, and can confirm I get menu for invasion crossbow as well. Also tried the colored armor, and the color kryss guys, and can imbue both. Still can't imbue the spellbooks.

Tinker NPCs sell them for about 20 gp, or something like that.

Cool :). I have a necro mage (Lounge Act) and a few dexxers on Origin, no tamers or bards ... eh, Slasher is very difficult in my opinion, not really sure what the best strategy is :/ they kill summons/pets fast.

I'll be at Luna bank for a few :)

A solid sampire with a demon slayer is fine as long as that sammy has a dedicated healer. If you have a mystic healer with cleansing winds, then even better.

When the falling stones come down, have your dedicated healer pick them up, double click them, and toss them at Slasher.

On Origin, just noticed that the fields blocking all the side rooms in the Tomb of Kings seem to have completely vanished. The levers are still in the front room, but I haven't tried messing with them yet to see if the fields come back.


Ah never mind. I suspect someone has solved the puzzle and was messing with me. LOL

I have a suggestion.....A lot of people are gonna be training inscription again but when you make scrolls to train they don't stack and your pack gets FILLED with single scrolls all over the place. Any chance you guys could make em stack as you create the same scroll? I know it sounds like a small thing but moving completed scrolls one at a time to a chest to stack takes forever.

Well, as you know, G.v.P., but for the benefit of everyone else including the devs, we found out that the Holy City night spawn ain't happening on Origin.... Someone forgot to turn it on?

The Holy City night spawn is happening on the Japanese/Asian Shards, not the European or American shards.

It has been this way since the SA release.

The team has never addressed this issue, but it's been raised many-a-time by the players, on the boards and in other forums.

Among other impacts, this makes some of the fiction of Ter Mur look a little ridiculous, and also makes one of the Tier 3 Hunter's Quests un-doable.

Heard the same thing, and noticed it happening the other night while working scribe on another character of mine.

My character was in factions. I tried trained it on a non-faction character, and there was no stacking problem.

The publish notes say under the Bug Fixes heading, "Putrid Undead Gargoyles are spawning in the Holy City." Well, there was no spawn there last night. G.v.P. and I sat through the whole time they should have been spawning (7 pm to 1 am), according to what I've witnessed on the Japanese shards. I also checked just now and there is no spawn in the Holy City even though it is just after midnight there. However, I did jump over to Yamato and guess what? They had spawn from the time I arrived (shortly after 8 am local time) until 1:00 pm local time. Completely reversed from what the situation was four months ago.

Also, I'm not sure that having this spawn turned on will make it possible to complete the Percolem Level 3 quest called "It Makes Me Sick."

This old thread (http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=170052) has screen shots from several Japanese shards that I made back in December. The following monsters spawn in the Holy City: Effete putrid gargoyle, Effete undead gargoyle, and Gargoyle Shades. The notes Petra made for the "It Makes Me Sick" quest indicate Percolem wants you to slay "Putrid Undead Gargoyles," which aren't a monster that spawns in the Holy City. If the quest name for the monsters is wrong, then I think that particular quest is very very badly placed because the monsters that spawn in the Holy City are almost complete pushovers. They are very easy to kill, probably because the quest was the only way a brand-new and low-skilled gargoyle character could get out of Ter Mur before the placement of the moongate outside the Royal City.

I made a bunch of screen shots in Yamato with the monster names and including animal lore gumps. Will sort them out and post in a bit. There's about 20 of them piled up to go through. Will also check again on Origin to see if the time is messed up there as well, but G.v.P. sat through the whole "day" last night without seeing anything, so I tend to doubt it's happening there as well but just at the wrong time.

Edited to add: I've been in the Holy City on Origin now for a few minutes while it is between 7:15 and 8:30 am. Not a red thing in sight except a Ballem.

Don't we have to wait until the publish hits all shards before we start seeing things from it? Only Origin should have the new stuff.

The gargoyle shades and the effete putrid gargoyles each drop about 300 gold. The effete undead gargoyles drop about 30 gold. You can sometimes find undying flesh on the corpses.

If you do the Egwexem/Naxatilor quest to enter the Abyss, you must kill a certain number of any one of the gargoyle shades, effete undead gargoyles, or effete putrid gargoyles. Naxatilor tells you that they come out at night, so that is why the 7 pm to 1 am spawn time that was originally working on the Japanese shards made sense, but their new 7 am to 1 pm spawn time on Yamato at least doesn't make sense.

I've also run around the Holy City on Origin looking for the "putrid undead gargoyles" mentioned in the publish 65 notes for Origin and found nothing like that. So it seems to me that something is very very mixed up about this spawn for the Egwexem/Naxatilor quest and the spawn needed for the Percolem level 3 quest and the publish notes.....

Yes. That's why I buy a clock from a tinker and use it when I'm testing to see if they're showing up on time. If they follow the schedule that applied back in December on the Japanese shards, they should be respawning on every shard for 30 minutes every two hours in real life time.

Hmm, let's see what's showing up here: Internet Explorer, UO and UOAssist, Microsoft Paint, Network Magic to run the router, Microsoft Messenger (gotta figure out why that's even popping up as I don't use it), a local area connection, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Drive for Mobile, a wireless network connection, a Maxtor network drive, Adobe Photoshop Elements, volume control, Safely Remove Hardware, the Synaptics Pointing Device (touchpad), and McAfee. All legal to run simultaneously with UO as far as I know.

Tina, to remove MS Messenger you look for the preferences options and uncheck if it says to start when windows starts and also uncheck if there's the option to run in background. Also in Outlook Express (WinXP), there's a check off to start Messenger when Outlook Express starts.. uncheck it. Even if you don't use Outlook Express, might as well uncheck it so if you accidentally launch OE, it won't also start Messenger.

You can also opt to not show the intel graphics icon and the touchpad icon. The less you show, the less memory gets used up. Every bit helps :)

Or...

Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, and select Windows Components (Or something like that.. can't remember exactly right now and I'm on Win7 at work).

Should find Messenger and even Outlook Express.. They'll be completely removed, not just turned off.

Alright, so in short, Holy City is still broken on Origin. NA/Euro still not getting the right spawns if what is on Origin sticks. :(

Add to that the spawn on the Japanese shards, or at least Yamato, is now occuring at the wrong time.

I was reading through some of the other quest descriptions and realized that you have to kill putrid undead gargoyles to get infused glass staves for the Pure Valorite quest from Zosilem. It's a 3rd tier quest that gives you an elixer to turn 500 bronze ingots into 500 valorite ingots. So, if I'm understanding this information correctly, that's two quests that rely on something that still isn't in the game almost seven months after SA was released.

Asuka is messed up too. Just checked and there was a spawn of undead in Holy City while the clock showed it was shortly after noon (12:25).

Missed those in the notes; sorry!!

If they really do fix it I would love that.

Let us cross our fingers and assume that they have put in the code but haven't flipped the switch until the Publish is live everyplace?

I would still like to see the reasoning behind nog allowing us to Imbue Artifacts.

Either please show us the reasoning, and allow us to debate it quickly before the Publish goes live, or perhaps just take it off of the Publish.

Dexter the royal mage in Castle Britain only gives quest to human and elfs.

Gargoyles have to go to the Lens Maker in Holy City to start the quest chain.
