ok, so I played uo fairly casually about 2-3 years ago and have decided to try to make a comeback. one of my main chars for strictly pvm was a sampire when you could use mods to boost your necro up, cast vamp embrace and switch back to your combat eq. That apparently has changed, so three questions:

1. with my current skills what should I drop to get necro up to the required 99
anatomy 100
bushido 120
chivalry 70
healing 100
necro 40
parry 120
sword 120
tactics 45

2. Are sampires still viable? What I mean is can I still beat on the beasts I use to? (peerless bosses and other high ends)

3. And this at the risk of sounding completely newbish do I need imbued eq or should the stuff I use to wear still cut it? Or should I go ahead and work on getting my stuff imbued out the wazoo??

Thanks and I'm sure I'll have tons more questions to follow

Ignore those guys. Let me try to answer your questions.

1. Template
120 Swords
120 Parry
120 Bush
100 Tactics
100 Anat/Resist
99 Necro
61 Chivalry

You can still use skill boosting items. An imbued bracelet with a bit more chivalry could help.

2. Sampires are still top dog, in terms of melee toons.

3. What armor are you wearing currently? Doesn't matter if your armor is imbued or not - what matters are the mods. For a sampire, you wanna aim for:
100 di including your weapon
150 dex/180 stam if possible
45 dci
45 hci if you plan to use specials; can be 0 if you just plan to lightning strike
mr
lmc

Welcome back. :)

Well there have been many posts about this subject, and tbh thier is not just one template that could be used. It really depends on what your fighting and what your comfortable with. I have been changing my template and trying differant things to see what works best for my type of play style. I find it to be actually alot of fun and with a few soul stones very easy to inter change skills. Also as has been mentioned countless times the test shard is an excellant way to try out possible templates too. But the first things is to look at the sticky posts above. As far as templates I will show you my current one.

Currently

Anat 100
sword 120
tatics 100
bushdio 120
chiv 70
resist 110
necro 99

I use assasin armour, ring with 5 ssi and dex around 160, hp around 125 and the rest mana. Going to make a new braclet with my imbuer and like i said i am always changing things around. I just started hunting in the new Abyss dungeon, where they have the mini champ spawns. There is one area where they have acid slimes, acid elementals etc, and being a swordsman my armour and weapon takes some serious damage. So I may try replacing anat and resist for magery and eval for that spawn. I am trying to get all the differant essance rather then buy it for my imbuer. Part of the fun for me at least is trying new things in the game and experimanting.

PS; Best to have an armoured swamp dragon and carry an extra scroll of armour in you backpack because they tend to wear out. Aslo regs to cast vamp again and a couple scrolls for I think its reflective or reactive armour to boost up your resists.

Clearly a typo. Sorry you can't get any more post titles for useless dribble:sad2:
A typo that could very well confuse a new, or even returning, player. Typos such as this need to be corrected so as not to cause said confusion. Sorry if you aren't able to see things from a different point of view.

And btw.....I can get another post title, I just choose not to. :lick:

What bout this template posted on the uoforums?

120 swords
120 tactics
120 anatomy
120 bushido
120 resisting spells
99 necromancy
71 chiv

You know what they say, the best defense is a good offense! I had 120 parry, and i just traded my anatomy/resisting spells depending on what I was fighting, but I found that parry is pretty much useless since I never run a shield anyway.
Her DCI, HCI, and LMC are all maxed. Fully suited, she has 125 STR/45 INT/150 DEX. Her Damage Increase is 96 on her suit alone and I run normal weapons as opposed to exceptional because they just waste an imbuing slot. I also managed to squeeze 40 focus on her for the stamina/mana regeneration. She can solo the Dark Father easily. I always use a Radiant Scimitar for chugging Heal Pots (running a 50% EP ecru citrine ring). I run her in a Faction for the armor pieces, and I am able to trade Silver for Faction points. I hope this helps someone out there. Just remember, parry on a Sampire=JUNK!
Basically dropping parry for anatomy and resist both. After reading up a bunch on Sampires I was under the impression Parry was vital to soloing high-end mobs, but this person seems to have no problems.. very confusing for a new player.

Parry gives you an added percentage to block being hit more. So in simple terms if you normally get hit ten times with the parry skill being used, you may get hit 12 times with out the parry skill. It's a matter of what kind of temp plate you want and like I said earlier thiers not a perfect set up. I vary mine up and experiment depending on the equipment I am using and what I am fighting etc.

Right, well I don't have a house full of soulstones, massive wealth, and access to any item or imbue I want. So when i'm looking at a template to make I don't have the option of changing it around and experimenting whenever I want.. i'm looking for a solid build right out of the gate.

Hence my question. :)

im actually pretty happy with my template, which is a basic template from here

120 swords
120 parry
120 bushi
100 anat
100 tact
100 necro
60 chiv

my base stats without items are 100 100 45
after all enhancing items my stamina is around 158 which puts me at max swing with radiant scimitars, which i love with the whirlwind attack in high mob areas
