To Old to be imbued.

I burned a couple of barbed sewing kits and imbued a few gorgets. Was trying to get one with high resists on certain ones like fire, cold, energy.
I was able to imbue about 5 or 6 with some decent resists but not the kinda elite item I was looking for, luck of the roll.

Anyway's I must of been looking through my various chests and found a very nice gorget I had with like 86 resists on it with no other mods. So I figured lets see if I can imbue like 8 stamina on it. Thats when I got the message that this is to old and the materials that were used would not stand up to the imbuing process. First time I have seen this message, I'm sure I'm not the first to see this message, I'm just wondering why that phrase and not the standard phrase that this item can no longer be imbued etc.

The armors/weapons made by runic before the publish can not be imbued (too old to imbue). If a post-publish made item already has 5 or more properties at high intensities, it it will give you the "can't no longer be imbued" message.

Thank you for the answer.

I am going to have to rotate through my stock of armor and weapons replacing the old unmodifiable ones with ones that have more possibilities. I have quite a few pieces that would be excelent with some mods but they are too old. :(

I unraveled around 600 armor and weapons that were old. Many were even double exceptional items. The stuff simply wasn't worth keeping anymore because of imbuing.

600? I doubt I have that many useless pieces but some valorite pieces which I will probably smelt rather than unravel. I actually think many of my wepaons will be good imbued if they are still iron metal

Remember - it's the older ones made of special material that can't be imbued - but then, who used Runics on iron or normal leather, with the exception or an occasional weapon for a Chiv user, prior to SA?

What can I say? I'm a pack rat. Eleven accounts, nine houses, 40+ developed characters on five shards. My old guildie and I used a lot of runics over the years. We never sold much and I kept anything that wasn't utter crap. Imbuing turned tons of that stockpile into crap. LOL.

When they said an Imbuer would not be able to imbue NOR unravel enhanced items, I tossed nearly 600 Bloodwood and Heartwood enhanced wood armor as well as Ash enhanced bows and spine/barb ehanced armor. I did need the storage space for loot that I would eventaully unravel, so it was not a total waste...
