Well I am consolidating on two UO shards.

The poofy stuff like vet rewards, dye tubs, gp, EA holiday or anniversary special whatevers, resources, I am banking.

Bods etc. gp, useful items etc. just donate to NEW or slap on clearance vendors for 0 gp.

Lots of other stuff, just trash it.

And whatever else is left, just let it IDOC.
Not like it matters to anyone much, what we end up doing.

Put all Soulstone and Soulstone fragments in the bank. No one else can use them.
Put any and all items you would keep if you just taking a break from the game in the bank.
Also, put items in bank you plan to trade if you just leaving SP, but playing elsewhere on UO.
Gifts to your friends must be your choice, once you are gone they will have no claim over the items in your house.
Leaving an IDOC creates an event for others. It is something to fight over.

I would place a trash barrel in my house and put everything i own in it and drop the house. Then go to town throw all dump every thing in bank on the ground. Next go to Ru house and lock a Bushido book and a turnip on the floor. I would then go to the Brit inn and log out in newbie cloths. i would hit the log in screen and delete the character.

I have a whole set of treasure books made from Alaric Horn, sry if im misspelling name, im not in UO right now, those are centimental, I would prolly give those to someone before they got into the wrong hands, and of course, the cake for Krystals 10,000 kill to me, that would be hard to let fall, I would give that away also, those prolly arnt a high $$$ amount, but mean a lot to me

If it was me I would do the same thing I did when I left Pac for siege.
Banked my most important things, packed up a blue beetle and my backpack with other things of value, so about 350 items here on siege.

The rest I gave away to friends and guildmates including both my homes.

I dunno what I'd do. I have things that can never be gotten back should I quit for any period of time (such as my grandfathered houses on Siege/Atlantic on my main account.) I have items (originals) going back to 1997/1998. What I have... simply cannot be replicated or replaced. How many players have wispering roses with their characters name on it...?

Banking it would be pointless because if I did quit... I'm not coming back. Nor would I ever be able to get back what I currently have.


The only way I'd sell my accounts (the two of them) would be for more money than I believe anyone would pay for them... and there would be stipulations (such as a required name change for every character.)

I dunno... its freaking 10 bucks a month. I spend more money on lunch any given week than I do on this game.

Fill up your bank, a beetle and your character - try to keep the things you think would be hard to replace and useful (oh! and sentimental) should you return.

Everything else put in a house in containers open to everyone. Grant permission to enter the house to your friends and guildmates for a few days, then before your last day in game, change the house sign to public, name the house "Free Stuff", and log out on your beetle.

I have such a tower still standing, but the free stuff is all gone. The empty tower should be falling before long. The only IDOC loot there will be empty containers.

Those leggins shall & will remain with me on my Miranda chr. till I leave Siege Perilous.

As ya say some things sentimental, or have meaing for us, we keep or hang onto out of player respect for a leader whom had been here, ye being my first Guild leader via DTA, pre my KSS days and all, as well as a leader, in ye own right & ID, upon this shard, also.

I have taken hiatuses over the years (many as a result of commitments to Uncle Sam). Some were more permanent than I originally intended when I went on hiatus. I continued to pay on the oldest account(s) during the various hiatuses to preserve longevity and housing. This last one was not a hiatus but a refusal to continue paying the subscription on EA shards as I do not feel it is worth it anymore. Before leaving, I moved to Siege in a last ditch effort to find a reason to stay on EA shards.

I just let my personal housing on the various shards fall as I had already made sure that guild housing had been left in the proper hands (for the guilds that still had players). Some housing and pixels went to the Kelmo's of the respective shards so it could be passed along to someone else in due time. I offered all of the rest to guild mates in the guilds that were still active but no one had the ability to hold it and I got tired of running around looking for random people to take it.

I do not recall what became of my Siege housing. I recall trying to give it back but there may have been some difficulties in finding an account to hold it (the reason it was gifted to me in the first place). My only regret is not taking the time to give some of my Siege pixels to NEW but at the end, I was so irritated with EA that I didn't even bother banking crap as the final accounts expired.

Incidentally, I still play UO (albeit not on EA servers) and having more fun than I have had in a long time.
