One simple question about pentagrams. And another tuff one.

I can't seem to find a way to color pentagrams other than board colors (ash, oak....) or the regular grey/red type. Though i have seen some dark grey ones and a lot of light grey used in a great courtyard design. I would love to know if and how they can be customly colored.

I also experienced a problem with pentagrams design. I made an intermediate level of pentagram's middle-tiles, raising square gozas 9 times then placing pentagrams on them. design stuck for several days even when remodelling house, then one morning the gozas were on top of the pentagrams. My damn curiosity pushed me to lower half of the gozas one level down (pentagrams reappeared) and then open the house remodel tool to see what happens. Well...they all vanished (gozas in moving crate, pentagrams lost). Question : is there any way to have a nice intermediate level (pentagrams or gozas) that would survive remodelling the house? For example, in my case, if i waited few days till the gozas and pentagrams would have flipped back in the original position, could i have remodel the house without them vanishing?

I can add pictures if my explanations are too complicated or the case is not common.

ty!

I can answer both of these questions.

First, if you purchase stains, you can dye a pentagram made of "magic" wood.

This means, if you make a pentagram with yew/ash/etc, you can use the stain on the deed. HOWEVER, you must dye the deed before you ever use it. iF you place it then try to dye it, it won't work.

As far as the house question, if you lock down each tile of the pentagram that is raised, it won't go poof. However, you have to lock it down every time you want to edit the house if it's edited on a different day. So lets say you lock it down today and make changes. You come back tomorrow to make more changes, you need to lock them donw again.

Clear as mud?

Clearer than i would have hoped for :) I'm all over it right now. I was locking them but didn't cross my mind to lock them again, hehe.

Sounds like your pentagram got broken from having half on, half off goza mats. Even if raised up, if all the pieces are the same height then going into custom mode would just cause the penta to redeed and go in the crate (unless you lock down all the pieces). It's actually pretty fun to play around with, but better to test with regular add ons till you get a good plan of what you're doing. Then write down the steps you took and save the information. You never think you'll need something or you think you'll remember, then six months later...yeah. I have notes on all kinds of junk, hehe. :D

Hello Sarsmi :) *waves*
Well i didn't have full pentas. I had an intermediate level made off 70 center-tiles from pentagrams (after breaking them and keeping only center tile from each). They were all placed on gozas (so same level as gozas). And i did find out on my own how to break them and that i need to lock each down in order to survive house editing. I just didn't realized i need to lock them again if i edit house in another day - as Kayhynn smartly advised me to.
In this way i lost the 70 pentagrams cos once you break them they won't go to moving crate anymore. So smart of me to try this first on test shard, lol.

Another thing is that at some point the gozas and pentas flip and gozas go visible "on top" of pentas (even if same level). I'm still working on this, but i got the feeling that axing the gozas will drop pentas on ground (not good) and the solution would be lowering all gozas just one notch, so the pentas stay same level and gozas show no more - but i think next house edit all those gozas will go to moving crate but the pentas will survive at the needed level (if locked down :) ). Gah, complicated, but i hope i'm right. Especially since my design has now 105 pentagrams and they all have to be dyed natural black before placing....would be a disaster losing all on my home shard.
Well, if you're interested, PM me and i'll show you the house model i'm working on test shard :) it has a few interesting features.

You can just raise the center pentagram bits up with the house dec tool so it won't flip with the goza mats. Once you've got the pentagram chopped you can raise and lower the leftover pieces. If it's not too high up you don't even need the goza mats, unless you are needing them to walk on - visually the center part of the pentagram covers the square of the tile totally.

And yeah, any raised up goza mats will go in the moving crate. I think you can place the gozas on top of the pentagrams, if not you can raise up the pentagram and place on the floor under then raise/lower stuff as needed. But it may be that you don't need the gozas even. I really haven't tested walking around on raised up pentagrams though I think it's perfectly possible (I've got a rather hazy memory from when I tiled my castle floor in pentagram centers that I could walk up them like stairs if I wanted or use them as a platform, never got around to messing with it though. :))
