At first it doesn't sound like a good idea but the more you think about it the more it seems it could work. Maybe in large faction battles or in PvP matches or even allowing monsters to hit for more than 100 points but yet being able to keep the interest of the players without saying it's way to over powered.

A character could become critically injured once they go into minus hit points, so a character would normally die at minus 1, would now just fall over and lay on the ground, maybe making some kind of grunt sound or having to yell. You would be able to see yourself laying on the ground but there would be no ghost, unless you were minus 25 hit points. So, somebody could hit you with a knife or cast a spell on you while you were critical and kill you, whereas now you would see your ghost.

But, the interesting thing about this is that the player would become inactive while they lay on the ground, giving you the opportunity to heal them and bring them back. I would imagine this would only be able to happen once every so often, so that people wouldn't continuously jump up and down from unconscience to conscience, although, if done right, that might be kind of funny.

So, tell me what you think....Minus 0 to Minus 25 would be a new critical state, anything under that would be dead.

Hu? Did I miss something? Where is this coming from? Is this a new idea of yours or are you pulling from another thread, because I cant figure out what your talking about. It sounds like I am coming in in the middle of a conversation.

Initially I would have to say no, this sounds like a really bad idea. There seems to be no reason for something like this. I cant imagine how this would add to the game in any way.

Monsters can already hit for more than 100? players should never be able to -.-

So I guess what I am saying is, no.

It already works this way, in a sense

If you hit 0 hp and still have stamina left, you will stay alive :)

and if nobody can kill or heal you, do you slowly gain health back till you can stand ?

Once you go into minus 0 hits it would begin a timer as if you were bleeding to death, so it might make sense to actually lose hit points during the critically wounded state and if no one heals you in time, you die.

The critical state would begin after this process. Your hits would have to be minus 1 to minus 25, so say your at 0 hit points and have stamina and someone hits you for 10 points, you would now be minus 10 and see yourself laying on the ground with no ghost because you would be in the new critical state.

Um? No? I play a dexor who has atleast half of his stamina every time he dies and... well.. thats it, he dies when he hits 0 health no mater how much stamina he has.

That's because you dropped *below* zero health.

If it hits *exactly* zero health and you have half stamina, you will stay alive.

I've done it many, many times.

I have to ask. What do you fight to be able to notice this? Everything i fight hits me for over 60 damage at a time then bombards me with more. I would never have noticed this.

I don't see what the difference would be unless you are saying there will be something in place to stop whatever is attacking you in addition to what you are suggesting. Other wise you end up on the ground and then killed because whatever is trying to kill you won't stop till you are dead instead of falling over dead.

So someone could, theoretically, put you in a critical state, and keep you there forever (or at least until you or they got bored)? Sound like this would make for an even greater griefing tactic than rez killing someone, as you could not even opt to leave your body and all the stuff, go to Luna and rez becasue you don't have a ghost.

Players. I've had it happen most often in duels, when magic arrow was the major interrupt spell used (at the time,) but I've also had mobiles do it to me.

Now, what are *you* fighting that you're getting bombarded with 60 HP a shot? Quit fightin in yer skivvies and buy some AR!

No because you would be losing hit points slowly -20 - 21 -22 -23 -24 OOoo.
Bleed makes you lose hit points but this would be a slow bleed. So either someone has to heal you or kill you.

It would be just like it is now, you have -1, you yell, fall to ground but no ghost until you hit -25, so you hope that someone will heal you before you die to get you out of critical, if not and you do go -25 then you die, see ghost, lose insure and need to be rezed.
:stretcher:

Each time you are healed the timer could speed up so you lose health faster and faster so you would die no matter what in a timely fashion, but still have plenty of time for at least one or two good heals to get you out of critical. This should stop small heals that would keep you down indefinetly.

...

You can go to 0 HP, 0 Stamina and be alive (cliff jumping will do this for people who remember this method of raising healing it was a way to zero out HP safely).

When you hit -1 HP you're dead.

It's fine the way it is now.

And 100+ HP hits from anything is simply lame.

Ah I figured that. Also I can't remmeber since when I used the numbers instead of the bar to look. Oh I fight with the best armor possible. the only thing is i fight anything thats worth fighting and it always is high end magic casters. I think the weakess monster i ever fight these days are the trogs and there boss only because they don't use magic and don't cast spells and paralize you and cast there special and phy hit you all at the same time I really wish monsters follow the same rules we have to sigh. 2 hit killed is extremly common in my pvm situations even though it's usually like 5 different hit's in 1 micro sec.
