Hythloth Level 4 Guest Book... No Longer Available?

Tonight I decided to venture down into the demonic depths of Hythloth to see if I could find and sign the guestbook described here;

I've got a vague, vague memory of it existing on the Europa shard when I last had an active UO account, back in 2001... but it could be a memory of something else; alas my quest to see if I was in the book from then amounted to naught as it doesn't appear to be there any more. Does anyone know if it exists on Europa still? The book in the other corner of the level is not usable alas...

Well ventured down on legends and no book there. hmm guess it gotten erased accidently with all the updates that have been done.

Ponders if it was on all shards or just some the older ones.

im pretty sure someone was putting some not so nice things in there and it got deleted..

I think that screenshot was taken on Lake Superior. The book may only be available on that shard.

Um... what exactly does WoW have to do with my question? But I notice there's an awful lot of bitterness about that game on these boards, which is a shame because all it does is add bitterness to the community here; and as this game relies on community to generate content, you are just shooting yourselves in the foot with it.

Actually, I have a Paladin on WoW. When I played there the last time, I had full arena gear. I would have to get a group together and get the new season's gear now, though. I love the battlegrounds. Especially Wintergrasp. It's not that we resent WoW so much as that we don't really like the fact that UO's much-anticipated "new" client tries too hard to be a third-rate WoW clone. The last time they tried to make UO something it isn't was when the AOS dev crew decided to make UO into a Diablo clone back in 2003. We're still suffering from the effects of that disaster.

I guess that what we really resent is the callous disregard of us, the player base. If we wanted to play WoW, we would be playing WoW. We don't want to play WoW, we want to play UO. When we're tired of playing UO, we'll go play WoW for a while, then we'll come back to play UO again. If UO becomes another WoW, why should we leave WoW, when we're tired of playing WoW, just to go to another of the thousands of WoW clones?
