So if you are like me, and the only reason you visited this forum was the smack talk thread lets make the little move over to uopvp.net and not worrie about stepping over a line. (unless its racial or RL attack)

Yea lol I have a feeling this will get locked too.

We have a very vocal pvp crowd on this shard, small but vocal. It just seems like a shame for all that delicous banter to be quashed.

Nothing aginst the mods... they are only doing thier job but people like King Salmon err w/e for example, clearly cant resist pushing the envelope a little to far.

Its not your fault Morgs, you just stir them boys up too much.

I mean, this is a website... and um, if works on CLICK advertising... and that threads been busier in the last couple months then it's been in ages and they're LOCKING it because one or two kids can't keep their traps shut? Atl mentioned an alternative.. I already took the liberty of starting a thread over there. We'll see where it goes and see if the 1 or 2 kids shows up and manage to mess that one up too.

I think they really want to ones that broke the rules and or caused it to get locked to calm down and think about the errors of their ways before a new one is opened.

However, the last one is entitled "Last Chance Guys". So maybe it was the last chance... who knows. It was entertaining to me, but then again I have a weird sense of humor and never get upset or take things like those threads seriously or to heart. You would have more luck upsetting me by destroying a sand castle or something than to insult me on a message board for a game lol.

This is just my opinion obviously, if you're a moderator of a volatile thread, and you're too lazy to do your job correctly and lock whole threads based on one or two peoples indiscretions, you have no business being a um "moderator" of a "community forum." I know these people volunteer but MY GOD, show some professionalism and do your job correctly. Locking a thread is PURE LAZINESS on the moderators end.

I know these people volunteer but MY GOD, show some professionalism and do your job correctly. Locking a thread is PURE LAZINESS on the moderators end.

Perhaps someone would be interested in applying as a moderator? You might find out just how difficult AND time consuming the task is ... when one thread on one forum turns into a fulltime job, it's time to just lock it and let things settle down ... especially after the RoC have been explained multiple times.

Basically what you just said right there is you're not up to the task that you applied for. Being a MODERATOR. Not a thread locker. You're "working" for a site that makes money on advertising. If you don't understand the logistics of that, and the best and most efficient way to operrate, then you have no business being in charge of anything, let alone a thread on a click supported website. Sorry, but that's fact, and not hard to deduce... Don't even try to tell me that moderating a thread is a full time job. It takes 2 minutes to scan through a whole thread and find the problem people. I ran a website for 8 years with the WORST of Stratics people. They'd send them to my site. I know how it works dear.

Bad mouthing the mod on a public level isnt going to solve anything either. It's going to result in this one being relocked.
If you have a problem with how the thread was moderated you can always contact Petra.

First of all, I'm not a mod .. I have the temper from hell combined with a -120 patience factor and know it, so have never applied for a mod position. But, if you're up to it, I'll find you an application to fill out for the job, sweetykins.

I'm not badmouthing any specific mod. I'm saying any mod who resorts to locking a thread is lazy. You discipline the bahavior, not the entire community. When you kill a fly, you use a flyswatter, not a bazooka. I mean is this so really difficult to understand? It's not rocket science here people. You don't punish everyone for the acts of a single person. That's LAZINESS. "I don't want to do what's required of me, so I'll just take the easy way out."

I think they should remove forum moderator's ability to lock threads so they actually have to MODERATE them. And maybe I will contact Magdalene. We go way back. She's my home girl. haha

Greetings fellow board readers. Yes I did indeed lock the pvp thread and had some real life issues with family that kept me from doing my job. I will reopen one when I am ready to open one. Closing it wasn't just because of one or two people. It was flat out getting out of hand, when I have to spend a lot more then a few minutes scanning and trying to do infraction because there were 100 posts that popped up over night, I'm not being "lazy" I'm trying to do the best I can while dealing with something called real life before I deal with anything in game or on these boards.

As for you Balinor, thanks for the kick while I was down, good thing I have a thick skin or it might actually have gotten to me. But all it proved to me was many people assume the worst about others without actually stopping think there may have been other reasons.

I was speaking in general. As the average moderator on Stratics leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sure you're better. And Magdalene loves me. She knows she does. Cause I tell it how it IS. At least in the OTHER forum. Where our moderator died. I think I heard that... I think I might love you now tho Oriana. Now if you'd only kick mbraud for his potty mouth. Then all would be well.
