"What way to celebrate such joy?"

Queen Dawn inhaled deeply the roses that had been set out for her. She smiled, for this was a joyous time of year. The time for romance, the time for Love. She pondered, "What way to celebrate such joy?" She thought for a moment and settled on Trinsic and the toyshop of Tomas O'Neerlan...

Tomas unrolled the parchment in a hurry, never before had he been privy to correspondence from the Crown:

Dear Tomas,

In joyous celebration of this time of Love would you be so kind to put thy skill to a special memento for the occasion? I trust your experience and artistry to produce a fine craft.

Warmest Regards,

Lady Dawn, Queen of Britannia
**Seal of the Crown**

Tomas let the parchment gently on the table. His throat had gone dry. His mind spun. A direct request from her Majesty? He paced his shop frantically. Surely the result must be perfect lest he shame himself in the eyes of the Queen. He toiled for hours on end until late one night, he'd created harmony. Illuminated by the gentle shimmer of the torchlight stood one of Tomas' finest creations....

Scarlet Von Trinsic hugged the sandstone walls of the Southern gate of Trinsic. She tumbled behind a nearby tree just in time to avoid detection from the caravan's leader. She recognized the insignia on the freight with a smile. Jackpot. She followed the caravan southwest from the city, until finally, she saw the glowing portal in front of her. Her only hope now was the success of the Magician's charms upon the moongate. The caravan entered the moongate, she quickly followed....

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to determine the fate of this caravan?

I tracked for some time these strange tracks that led from the other side of the seemingly tampered with Trinsic moongate. After quite some time I finally came upon one of the beasts and engaged it in battle alone. The battle was going well at first, when all of a sudden the beast knocked me from my mount and began dealing me swift and menacing blows. Then, out of nowhere came six or so paladins, champions of honor! They quickly encircled the beast and dispatched it straight away. Then as quickly as they appeared, they vanished! I was not even able to give them my thanks.

Do be on the lookout for these wild beasts, they appear to be guarding chests which seem to be very well placed and blend in to the scenery.

(I do wish I had been able to capture a screenshot of the paladins, champions of honor, but it was all over so quickly I did not have time).

I found a straggler. It is at the big Blue/White magical building. North of where you enter from the trinsic moongate. beware! it is a paragon! Its by the water fall and river. You can teleport up to it, without having to go through the entire dungeon to get there.

..."go through the entire dungeon"?

I went ALL the way down that stupid trail, following wrong forks and fighting off Juka, to get to that scroll outside the dungeon and think "Seriously? You want me to run through THAT?"

I haven't ever been through that particular area before. I'm completely unfamiliar with the spawn, the location in relation to anything else, or the dungeon itself, and I'm sorely disappointed by the lack of clues thus far to lead a player through... if I knew where I was and where I was going without having to use Stratics to tell me what was going on, I'd enjoy this event a lot more. As it stands, I'm rather frustrated.

Have found several empty boxes and Dudley claims there are more that havent been found, but my guildmates and I have searched Ilish high and low and nothing but empty boxes.

What gives? Are we only getting the tickets that came out today? A lot of people are frustrated or getting very frustrated at this point.

Event's over. Dudley popped into Ilsh at 11:30ish and said 'back in a jiff' and wasn't. Haven't seen him since.

Something big (protector of a box?) spawned a few minutes before midnight near the gate, whole mass of us attacked and apparently no one got anything; or the person who did get a ticket kept their mouth shut. A box did appear on the ground nearby, so I guess someone found a ticket and didn't say anything. I found several empty boxes as well and no further clues. Very few of the people doing the event since 9pm seemed to have gotten anything, and a lot of us were very frustrated.

The event was good in concept but the execution sucked. I won't pull punches here, I'm really annoyed by the entire thing. The clues were vague and the spawn locations were apparently all over the place so that no one knew what to look for or where; the event wasn't spawning boxes fast enough for the number of players looking; and the NPC Thomas wasn't remotely useful, just a dumb placeholder. I could have stood for a few keywords for Thomas to respond to, maybe something to do with what the prize was, or where the caravan got lost, or the Queen. I could really have enjoyed a more localized spawn with a few more clues as to what/where. I even could have enjoyed a team approach where killing the box protector with multiple people helping spawned a ticket instance for everyone who helped, regardless of damage done/looting rights. But of course, this had to be a limited event and some people got a head start and managed several tickets before the rest of us had even logged in! Ugh.

And it could have even been a boon to players with "less useful" skill sets... Was the tracking skill useful here? If not, why not? "Tracks" leading into the woods should either have been visible to all, or track-able using a skill... I don't have tracking, and my attempts to use it led to nothing, so I can only assume it wasn't useful here. Not like I should expect much from events these days but after the fun everyone seemed to have with the Turkeys I was hopeful...

...And it's not even that I really give a damn about the tickets. I was just hoping for an honest chance to have fun with a holiday event, and instead I met with a lot of frustration both personally and from other players, and ended up wasting an evening searching in vain.

The event was very fun for me, all I had to do is buy a ticket and got my reward :)

If I knew where I was and where I was going without having to use Stratics to tell me what was going on, I'd enjoy this event a lot more. As it stands, I'm rather frustrated.
Stratics had the same information as the ingame books did. The ONLY reason I knew what was going on was because I got an icq from Yeoman who attends many hunts on our shard. He said

"Hey Gareth there is a gate at Trinsic that leads somewhere."

I was lucky he sent me the message because I was about to go to bed heh. So I rushed over. Found people standing around. Double clicked a box and it said you must defeat whatever before opening the box. So I killed the Npcs standing around the area.

I was actually lost for a good two hours. Had no idea what to do. We killed some and didnt even know to open a box heh. After I pieced all the clues together from the book at the Toymakers and the book at the moongate I knew what to do. So I set out to kill more and met up with RBG people and we went on a salughter spree. We had no idea that they would not respawn. Not a clue only 50tickets were per shard. So since I had collected so many (And praying to get something else besides a Teddy Bear. I wanted a dragon one but, they didn't exist heh.) I figured I would give them away. I didn't want to be one of those event prize horders.

So we ran into Elijah [PxP] and Yoshi [DWxC] and helped them kill one. Made sure they got the ticket. After server up I returned and my icq was flooded with questions. So I did my best to answer everyone. I had no more information then you did. I just figured it out quickly. Everyone seemed disappointed in the morning. So I told everyone to gather up and I would take them to where one spawned. So we all went out as a group and killed one.

However I did not tell them that a box spawned and the ticket was in it. Whoever opened it first got the ticket. I didn't want to see people just stand by the box and grab it doing nothing for it.

Once I did I grabbed the ticket and made sure it was given out fairly. Since I had extra tickets and a good number of people showed. I gave out another three to those who helped. Gave one to Rivi for helping me hand out the tickets as well.

As I said I got allot of the tickets. So I gave one to Zelda of Zed to give away on Whispering Rose Radio. I gave one away on stratics as well. Mr clean of Tips and I went and killed some by the golems in the big black castle thing by the swamp. Then we assisted someone else to kill his at the swamp. We ran across people who needed help. So we helped them kill the monster and directed them on how to get the ticket. We ran into SHE by the Garg city and helped them. (I seriously prolly died over 100 times through the whole thing.) I gave one to Lox because he killed one all by himself but, didn't know about the box and someone stole his.

Now am I the EM? No. Do I need to know everything? No. Did I have insider information on how to do the event? No. Should I have stopped hunting and left them for people? Maybe... maybe not. Because do not tell the elite rich people or the EM item hoarders would not have been charging everyone an arm and a leg for them. The only thing I am guilty of is being able to piece together the information quickly and having the contacts to get a good hunting group together.

Final Notes
At 4:00pm EST we were still able to find two hidden ones. So Dudley was correct when he said some have not been found. Plus he knows where they all are lol.

I am only one person. After the event I had 82 conversations going on icq with questions. Along with ingame questions and whatever else. I did try my best to answer everyone. I do apologize to those I did not respond back to. Not trying to sound like a jerk but, I am really good at events like this. I am able to take fragmented information, piece it together quickly and figure it out. Also being able to understand how EM Dudley does events and ties them into a RP storyline is good to know. I make a point to know certain information from talking to the community. I see this as part of my moderator and news reporter job. I am useless as one to you guys if I cannot try to provide you with information over icq or the forums. Thats why some of you may think I am very nosy...well I am. I just want to try to get the information needed to as many people as I can. Because their are those out there that will horde it all to make a profit.

Now why wasnt more information posted on the forums? The reason why is because I can see who is logged on the forums. When I see login names reading our V-day forums who are known as "Big time shard traders" I am not going to put up detailed information. Unless you want all the off sharders to come get your stuff heh.

You make a good point - you're useless if you can't provide us with info. So... why didn't you? "The xsharders would have gotten the tickets" is pretty stupid... all the shards were running events; xsharders had more going on than visiting Chessy. And even if they did get a couple of tickets, who cares? Equal chances for everyone is better than one person saving the tickets from the "bad players" who don't "deserve" them. Regardless of whether or not it's fair for those players to get them... they should have had a chance like the rest of us.

And since no one was supposed to know the exact spawn locations anyway (and if you did, I would wonder how you knew), I doubt it would have killed us to post the fact that the "trail" was in fact not a trail at all but an entire span of Ilsh between several moongates, in which boxes were "hidden" randomly and without regard to the "clues" which a few of us found outside the Titan valley and north of the gate... even that bit of information would have been much appreciated by some of us. Clearly you figured out at some point that there were multiple spawn locations, which some of us didn't know at 9pm last night after extensive networking among ourselves. The early-morning players were apparently logged out and had left no help, either so we were as clueless as you were upon starting the event, which is just stupid considering we had far less time to play around and figure it out, and the event had been finished by so many other people already.

One guy in Luna insisted there was a single "correct" trail to follow out of all those paths. I can only assume he was an early-morning ticket finder, and didn't bother checking the rest of the spawn locations over the course of the event. Would have been nice to know whether or not he was right, because he wasted my time as I followed those useless scrolls and found only pre-looted boxes.

I'll say it again: This event was poorly executed. Whether or not you did the right thing in saving tickets from xsharders and hoarders I don't care. You did it, it's done, whatever. I'm simply annoyed by the fact that there was little info forthcoming and that on top of the lack of good info (even in an RP-based event, it's possible to give plenty of facts, with a little planning!), there were so few prizes. Now that I know the number I'm even more annoyed. 50 tickets is not enough for an all-day event. If it had been a few hours long, it would have been more than a fair chance... but for all day? This server is still more active than that....
