Evasion without Parry

Can anyone tell me from a PvP standpoint, how effective is Evasion at 120 bushido with 0 parrying?

From what i heard...basically useless, something about it performs a parry check so 0parry 0check, although i dont know how it works...need to wait for someone whose tested it.

You can cast it but it doesn't do anything.

I am not sure about this. I have 0 parry, and cast Evasion when fighting Greater Dragons, and do get the *evades* message.

Well, with a human you'll always have base 20 parrying. So it'll work, but not very well.

i have a difficult time fighting greater dragons with mage or dexer.

I have a difficult time with GD's as well. But I am obsessed recently, and just keep going back to Destard for more! I'm using the GD challenge as a test of the benefit of having Healing replace Parry. So far, I am still undecided. I usually have to run in, get a few hits, then run out of the cave again. Often, I will be killed 5 times before killing the GD. Regular dragons are easy in comparison.

I'm testing a template with 60 parry as well based on some of the discussion in the Nyses' "Best Sampire" thread to see how like it. With 120 Weapon, 120 Bush, and 60 Parry I get the 300 points for the special's mana reduction. My guy's weapon skills are in training now. I'm going to test it with 100 anatomy and without (trading resist for anat to use on necro casters). We'll see how this goes.

Well, I just put 100 parry back rather than healing, and it looks like this is better for me for fighting Greater Dragons. I can see those *evade* messages going on while I hit the GD, and they seem to help alot. So for this kind of fight, Parry seems more useful.
