[News]ATTN Siege! PVP Tournament to be held

[Siege Perilous News]

<font size=3>EM Cecil will be hosting a PVP tournament this Friday at 6PM EST

The dueling tournament to be done in this fashion:

First tier = mage vs mage

Second tier = dexer vs dexer

Finals = Best mage vs best dexer

Winner will get a reward placed in the hall. Rules are as follows:
-No use of hide/stealth skill, including smoke bombs.
-No disarm
-No pets or summons of any kind
-No firefields, poison fields, conflags, etc.
*Rules may be added/amended at any time.

You may use whatever items you like, be it faction or otherwise. But be forewarned, I am deeming this an open loot tournament. Which means if you're a factioner and you die, realize your expensive suit could be taken by your opponent. This is Siege after all, you gotta risk it, for the biscuit.

Please to sign up within the thread to be added to the bracket, which will be up Thursday. If not enough interest is shown, it will be cancelled.

I recomned you limit the number of pots per fight with dexxers and go no pots mage vs mage...

The time is also horrible for me; 8:30 pm cst is probably the earliest I could make it ona friday night. Saturday, 6 east. would be fine though.

Have you ever watched two competent mages fight using pots? It can go on and on and on. he stipulated that the event may not even go off if there is not enough interest which may behoove him to consider certain thign possile contestants would like to see done. This rule sure would not benefit me vs. sunchicken as i would last alot longer vs. him with pots.

Part of the skill involved in a mage duel is sticking your poisons and curing yourself via spells when poisoned.

If a parry/SW mage loses this it is because everyone on the shard sucks on a mage. Not because of the rules.

Just wanted to add a suggestion.

On GL [i know its prodo so little different] the EM's operated a sudden death rule.

After 10mins of fighting they said no healing allowed. They gave a slight leeway for bandie timers. It made for an epic finale to the mage duel!!! All came down to who had the fizzles down best on there offence!

What you guys think about implementing that?

I think it would be nice to see people do this even if you aren't necessarily great at PvP. Maybe the EM wouldn't mind pairing people according to skill.

If I have to be a parry/SW mage just to make this tournament not suck for me... that's kinda ridiculous.

I do see in the rules though, that it doesn't say we can't switch our temps between fights so if I can... I retract my statement.

I would like to know one thing about archer... how do someone with a heavy crosbow can hit you at like 60+ and hit you every two second...and in all 70 resist suit

In case he switches to the comp bow...you can use the extra ssi. If not all he needs is the helm.
