Castle of Orobas the Prophet Falls to Royal Britannian Guard
January 23, 2010, by Cymidei Fier
At the Skara Brae fairgrounds in Felucca a surly group of murderers, spies and Purity League advocates waited the arrival of the hooded stranger. The message that had brought us together was an incredible opportunity to capture a fabled floating fortress in the lost lands home of Orobas the Goat Prophet. Should the Purity League win on the field of battle the fortress and the power of the Prophet would be ours forever.
Hoof beats sounded on the well trodden muddy pathway that led to the Skara Brae fairground, the hooded stranger debriefed us on the defenses of the fortress. Once within the eldritch walls we began the long ritual to bind Orobas to our will.
Supplies and traps were laid, scouts took their place on the parapets watching for any side of trouble. Outside, the Cartel Faction began patrolling the perimeter of the Castle and soon there was blood to shed. For two long hours the battle between the Purity League and the Royal Britannian Guard raged filling the green meadow with broken bodies
Fortress of Orobas had six corrupted champions, while they lived the doors were sealed with magic so that no mortal could pass. One by one the champions were slain and hundreds of bodies fell by the castle walls. The weak lamented and tried to take shelter in the hills where they were hunted down and slaughtered by the murderous Cartel.
The battle continued until a huge force from Spawner's Incorporated and their allies hunted down and slew the last guardian. In the moment of the guardian's death the crimson gates of the fortress vanished and the pathway to Orobas the Prophet was opened.
Orobas was bound inside the ritual pentacle of blood. While the silver braziers burned the Prophet remained bound to us and his fortress firmly anchored to the Lost Lands.
One by one the attackers of the Royal Britannian Guard defiled the sacred braziers causing their magic to crumble into ash. When the ritual circle was broken, Orobas roared and the Fortress faded leaving nothing but a tattered banner behind to show that it had ever been.
Even though our ritual had been spoiled by the gargoyle appeasers, the slaughter continued until the entire plain was filled with bones, blood and the loot of the fallen.
