Hugh sdi pvm mage suits, a couple ofquestions...

Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone could help me a bit here.

I'm trying to put together a high sdi suit for pvm but I've run into a problem...

With 94% sdi, I have just 2/4 casting and need 171 resists across gloves, shield, chest and 2 properties on bracelet...

Is 2/4 casting enough? Because the only way to get 2/6 is to use inquisitor's.

I was wondering if people that read this who use high sdi suits could give me a run down on their suit so I can see how other people have achieved good sdi.

Cheers guys.

Before I swapped to factions, I ran:
wizards crystal
pendofmagi
aof
spell woven
mid brace
lrc gloves
crystaline
orni
hood shroud scrapers
chaos shield 1/2 shield
totem of void

85sdi, 100 lrc, 40lmc, 4/6, roughly 30s resist
Resists were abysmal but it was on a mage, necro peacer... died on occasion but not too bad.

Since I joined factions to help my guild with the same char, I run:
head wizards crystal (fact)
neck pendofmagi
chest aof
leg spell woven
arm mid brace
glove random
ring crystaline (fact)
brac orni (fact)
hand invasion spellbook 29sdi
apron crimson (fact)
talisman blood wood
This put me at 89 sdi, 2/6 and a LOT of room to adjust my resists(right now in the 40ish range... could see closer to 50-60) I still have robe and cloak spots open. 123 hp, 173 mana:mf_prop:

Since I don't rely upon spellbook for fc/fcr, I can now use slayer spellbooks. And since I don't rely upon a shield, I can use potions.

I dunno if I could get used to having such low resists, and factions is out for me...

What are your thoughts on 2/4 vs 2/6 casting? And was your chaos shield any specific one? Or just crafted?

I was running a 2/5 suit and decided to change to a 1/5 which opened up 1 mod spots for me and there was not much difference(there was some but for me in pvm it was except able)this was for a couple of reasons mainly because i got tired of getting interrupted (no magic resist on my character) the spot for me where i noticed the most was summons !
so for me the 1 fc was not really worth it and i may even remove the other for another mod spot!
I am slower but I am sure to hit! (i use protection)

anyway the point is you could drop 1 point fc and then put 2 in fcr just a idea not sure how much you rely on fc

The resists don't hurt me... as I said, this was an area peacer setup for spawns. Thus, if I got in trouble, I hit peace and keep moving. VERY rarely did I get dropped and usually it was when it leveled up to mage levels:lol:

For me, I think the 2/6 was a better bet than 2/4... and there is no way I'd go 1/anything.

The shield was the vesper donation chaos shield with 1/2 on it... forget the name of it(if it had a name)

aha :) im not a peacer, a thunter with mage/eval/med/necro/SS. im going to keep the 2 faster cast, but what im really interested in is the faster cast recovery, does the jump from 4 to 6 make much difference?
