This is a general warning to everyone. Today an unfortunate incident occurred on our shard. A member of Kijustsu Anei Village had their account cleaned out, houses demolished and characters deleted. We are all working to reset this person up. The entire Kijustsu Anei community would like to thank Tatiana Karthina from PaxOku for her quick response in placing the 18x18. Sami for her quick response for replacing the keep spot and to Zelda and Luna Rossa for assisting in item recovery from the areas.

Some of you in the PvP area have received forgotten password emails. I highly suggest changing your account password. (I cannot give names) but, if someone in your past has had access to your account please change the email address as well. Check your email to make sure you have not received one.

For those that have found Keyloggers on your computers from ICQ, do a sweep with whatever programs you have and remove them. Once that is done change your account passwords, create a new email and password for the account as well.

Let this be a reminder to everyone that you do not know who the person is on the other end of the computer. Never share your account information.

(Please do not post accusations of who is doing this. Anyone posting names will receive an infraction and find their post removed.)

I guess who ever did it didn't realize that I was on vacation last week or they would have done it then, although I have all my email addresses forwarded to my phone so it really wouldn't have mattered.

Better to be safe than sorry I think. I've received a forgotten password email several times in the past and the one time I ignored it, my account was cleaned out of about 200mil and 50 heritage and other tokens. I never assume anything, but I like a healthy level of paranoia lol.

I agree though, I'd rather no new content in favor of enhanced customer service and account security.

With all due respect, if the above is true, it is best you share that knowledge only with the victim and stand by to support a truly legitimate investigation.

To do otherwise, will only complicate matters to the benefit of nobody.

The only 'investigation' that needs to take place is how the security was breached. You can't pursue this with authorities as "someone hacked my UO account", because no one cares.

It's "someone obtained unauthorized access to my email" or "someone planted a trojan virus/keylogger/etc and accessed my computer without my permission".

Btw I know the person who did it because he admitted it in ICQ....

Btw its a good thing to warn others because Im sure now that they are kicked out of my guild they will try to roam to another guild/shard and may try to gain trust all over again.
