[Imbuing] max resists on a shield?

hi guys.

im skilling up imbuing atm, and my reward for getting 120 is to make an uber suit for my mage

the problem is... as ive planned it so far, i need 171 resists using a chest with 4 properties left (HAS to have 20% lrc), gloves with 4 properties left (again, lrc), bracelet with 2 properties left, and a shield with... 3? properties left (assuming spell channeling and fc1 equals 2 properties).

my question is: what is the max of any resistance you can fit on a shield?

crafted would be out of valorite which gives 4,0,3,3,3 plus 1 in the resist for the shield type !
now if you start looking into other shields like artifacts and such there are all kinds also the planeshield is like 10 in energy

Older shields used to have more resists before enhancing if I recall. I have one valorite enhanced kite shield with 8/4/7/7/8 resists.

those are awesome resists, but i need the fc1 and spell channeling on there... also if its imbued i can replace it at some point down the line

valorite might be the answer... though should i be enhancing with valorite, or just making it with valorite?

Those were the old Invulnerable sheilds from before AOS. After AOS they converted with higher resists than you can now create. I bought a stockpile of them and enhanced with Valorite, etc and got those insane resists you are talking about.

I had a pile of shields from various things back then and kept them except for the luck shields which I tossed (regret that now... just didn't think an 80 luck shield would be worth much). I enhanced the rest and saved them for future use

It's really too bad you cannot imbue previously enhanced items. I also have a stockpile of those shields, all enhanced, that I'd love to add Faster Casting 1 to.

Mine are all enhanced too and one is spell chaneling but fc -1. I feel bad thinking about all the shields I recycled or dumped or broke enhancing. Ah well I only use them on my original character who has an all 70 suit without it. Maybe I should downgrade his resists and look for other buffs. I don't spend enough time playing this game.

I never imbued a shield. What can I do with a shield I found on a monster with, say, spell channeling and 15 DCI? I used to enhance those with valorite. Do I have options with imbuing to improve the shield more before enhancing (like better resists or other options)?

Those shields in question cannot be imbued period.

I know this from fact, trying to imbue as many old items as possible. The resists count as a mod, therefore before imbuing it has 5 mods already.
