wtf. ive got all but the spider keys, ive stoned resist onto my char, ive got refresh and gstr pots with me, im using soulseeker for the cold damage and a random crap shield. and 9 times out of ten, irk destroys me.

i am getting SO PISSED OFF WITH THIS. im sure im not doing anything wrong, so why is it almost everyone else on these forums just comes out with 'yea, i have np farming dh keys on my sampire'. balls. i dont believe it.

on a side note:

whats the point in resist? seriously? i know im nerdraging at my screen right now, but im permanently fricking mana drained and still getting para'd a LOT at 100 resist. no mana helps with the leeching for sure.

update:

so, i finally managed to (get lucky) get a spot in the corner with the spiders and killed em over and over till i had their eye/silk, then i honoured myself, ran to the altar, grabbed the cotton, stuck everything in, teleported to dh's island... honoured him...

AND KILLED HIM FIRST TIME. got no artifacts though. but its ok.

i have a plan next time. im taking my verite ornate axe for the changlings. i killed spite a couple of times with it at the end (desperate times etc) and tbh, i didnt notice his improved defense due to me having 120 parry/bush and a 2h weapon, hitting him for 160+ ls crit ended things quickly.

soulseeker and shield is guff. take a decent weapon seems to be the lesson learnt today.

the weapon i used to kill DH was an iron imbued runeblade, using counter attack and LS unless he got a couple of hits in a row, then switching to confidence.

Hehe, Irk is the most illogically tough critter there is.
I've actually had one that was impossible to damage in vampire form and had to switch to wraith. (or maybe it was the other way around?)

Ya i dunno what you're doing wrong man, I've never had a problem with irk. The only time I have probs with keys is when some other jackass drags all the spawn on to me when they are trying to survive.

i wouldnt be suprised if it was both, within the same short timespan, i mean, find he's easy in vamp but not in wraith, kill him, then when he respawns he be the otherway round. totally logical.

to Lynk, i dunno after i started using the verite ornate axe i had better luck against spite, but i only fought him a few times before getting the corner with the spiders to myself untill i had all the keys. im gonna go eat dinner in a minute and after that ill head back into the weald with the ornate and see if it really does make a difference.

Irk is easy, I use a 80 cold 20 physical Diamond Mace with HML, HSL, the usual SSI and DI (its also a spider slayer, so killing the spiders are real easy) and no shield. Just make sure you are alone with it.

If you are using ornate, make sure you can swing fast, cause if you don't hit, you cannot leech, and then you will die. The DH keys are easy compared to Putrifier's key for Chief P. I think Putrifier is the hardest key to get.

i found a 100% energy kryss with hci and LL and luck so i put mana leach and lightning on it and boosted the LL and now it hits for about 25+lightning without cw or using any mana. has worked pretty well so far for me when i get drained and cant get back in gear with my main wep on those guys. usually i can rip through them ok but if you dont have the mana to CW on a 100% phys wep you are going nowhere fast.

ok, so the soulseeker was the problem. ive been in there collecting keys for the last 90 minutes and not died once.

problem is, the changelings are spawning between me and the spiders, almost ON the spiders... im single pulling them away, killing em, run back and theyve already spawned again ON the spiders. how are people dealing with this? ive been there 90 minutes or so and only need the 2 spider keys, and i havent killed either of em once yet.

One on one with a Soulseeker, I can take Guile or Spite pretty well. Irk seems a hell of a lot harder for some reason. Irk seems to drain my mana way faster than the other 2.

The hunters guide suggests valorite or verite weapons to maximize damage. I guess I will attempt to make a val weapon for them.

i did dh this morning at like 3am... when i made the last post infact... hardly died atall, and the only deaths were due to foolishly running over the pool where the 2 uber spiders spawn and stupid things like that because i was tired.

thought id go back there today, so i go in, im farming me some keys, then BANG guile and irk at the same time, kills me. i get body back, cast VE and BAM that somehow enables them to target me while im honored and im dead again.

i get body back, and run down deeper into the weald, leaving them at the desert entrance. i see spite near sabrix and lissith, so i walk up to him, honor him, he's stuck on a rock casting spells at me and i cant go closer for fear of agroing the spiders, so i move back, he doesnt come, i repeat the process, go forward, aggro him, move back, move around a bit, whatever i do he doesnt come. ok i think, hes stuck there so i go down to the bottom of the spider area, and agro sabrix, kill sabrix, agro lissith, kill lissith agro sabrix, kill sabr...oh wait wtf spite is charging towards me oh crap. i run away, try using invis pot, die.

i get body back, but then everything aggro's me, still no 'you no longer embrace your honor' so i run to the bottom of the weald, try to use invis pot 'the invisibility effect is interrupted'.. i run to the desert, use it again 'the blah blah interrupted blah blah'. i die.

so basically, the weald is just a huge luck hole. IF you get lucky, youll farm yourself some keys. if you dont however, the changelings will own your face off. theyre ********. if theyre not spawning ontop of each other then theyre just respawning INSTANTLY right in the way of where your trying to get (the spiders generally) making it a ******** mission to get the spider keys.

seriously, why is farming the keys infinitely harder than killing dreadhorn? it makes NO sense.

ive given up on the keys for now, my apologies to anyone on europa if they go to the weald and find spite, guile, irk, sabrix and lissith all having a big orgy at the desert entrance, but quite frankly, im not going to deal with it.

I thought that when i first went to try proxy, but aslong as ya figure out "how" to do it. Its as easy as any balron.

This is also one of my biggest problems, getting to the spiders where I can farm them without interference by a named changeling.

Here is what I do to get around it. Usually the problem is spite, sometimes it is guile. I will just kill guile repeatedly until he spawns closer to the entrance. This doesn't seem to work for spite. For spite, I will honor myself go up, and attack spite and lure him up to Gnaw's cave. None of the other stuff will attack you because you're embracing honor, and then use a Greater Confusion Pot. Be careful when you use this, make sure you dont use it while a delay spell is being casted. If it messes up, run down and try an invis pot.

I did a DH run last night and was pleasantly surprised, at one point I had Irk and Guile on me and was able to survive without dying once. I just wished the spiders spawned slower so I could have time to loot the relic frag items. As it stands now they just go too quickly and I know I'm missing some things.

Last night's DH run only netted out two relic frags after I broke two bows when enhancing.

Leaving them in the northwestern corner (right above the swamp) is as effective _and_ it's not in the way for the next guy, if you want to try that.

I don't see any problem with how I currently handle it. I do appreciate your concern though.

It's not like I take him inside the cave.. Just the entrance area from the desert so he doesn't wander.

i have one question though:

lets say youve just got your dh keys, you chug a str pot, precast EoO, equip your favourite dh killing runeblade, hit the key and teleport in...

BAM dreadhorn casts bless before you can even blink, and starts running up to you 'you may not honor this target because it is already damaged'... noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... *ahem*... so yea... what do you do?

i just sucked it up and died, came back, used the next key, honored myself got body etc and went again.

My GF and I play, on her very first named monster kill (it was Miasma), she got an arti drop.
A piece of assassins armor.

(I've killed thousands of them, and still have yet to get a piece.)

Oh and Irk.... it will get easier as you get experience in the weald.

I had serious trouble with the whole place not that long ago. Couldn't even get
past the Changlings in the 'quicksand' without dying.

Now, throw 3 changlings at me at once, or two named changlings and I'm still bored.

However, recently I screwed up my luring and ended up with Spite,Guile,Irk, and one of the named Spider spawns on me... yeah..... I did last a good 15-20 seconds though! Even thought I was gonna pull it off.

I don't use EoO in the weald, Just for this reason. I think it would have been possible to win this fight if you get lucky/have right timing on evasion. As it stood during the fight, evasion ran out and not a second later, came the flamestrikes.

I think too, that I would have stood a better chance if it hadn't of been the spider that can do dismount. (Can't think of it's name ATM)

Save the honor and try timing invis pot with using DH keys. That should give you enough time right when you port in to not have aggo and get the honor in. You just need practice.

Irk = Luminous Rune Blade 4TW. Never had a problem with him using this weapon.

I have no problem with any number of mobs down there on me, as long as you keep hitting the one your EoO to and spamming wirlwind, he'll die quick, the leaches keeps you alive easy enough as your wirlwinding. Then just EoO the next mob and so on.

I think the main thing is keeping your cool, else thats when mistakes happen and you get owned

When I need to get the spider keys I've found a good spot to lure them out. Run over Silks pool and kill it and the widows.

Now you can get to the ledge above the spiders. Pull a life bar and attack. You have line of sight so they will aggro you. Lead it up toward the entrance and kill it. Rinse & repeat. Every few minutes you will have to kill Silk & friends again, but they aren't hard.
