For approximately 2500 gp, you can now purchase Skin Tingeing Tincture from NPC Alchemists on Origin and TC1. Screen shot belows shows the bottle in my character's backpack on Origin and the skin color choices she has as a human. According to publish notes on the EA Japan site, you are limited to skin color choices applicable to your character's race only.

(The publish notes are here: http://ultimaonline.jp/news.phtml?id=89741. Yesterday's patch notes are here: http://ultimaonline.jp/news.phtml?id=89740.)

Does a person have to be naked to use it like when you change from human to elf? Just want to know for safety sakes.

Very cool, and nice price as well although we should have been given them as free items for the first week at least

How wonderful that, as usual, we need to go to Japan's site to understand what was released.

No. My elven archer on Origin was fully clothed when I used it to change her purple skin to something else shortly after I made my first post above. When I logged her in a minute ago, her skin was still the new color. I also just used it on a fully clothed gargoyle on TC1.

Note: The alchemists in the Royal City in Ter Mur do NOT sell the tincture.

I love how they release something cool like this that not only fixes the problem, but has future value for everyone.

this would have been a great opportunity to help remove gold from the community had they made the price higher while still within reasonable.

Exactly. Great item, really happy they put it in. Could've used a higher charge though!

Yeah, maybe... Except the fact that our bodily hues changed against our will. Just be happy it didn't appear on gamecodes! (although they need all the support we can give em!)

We debated this, and decided on the less expensive price for two reasons:

1> If it were made into a big-ticket purchase, we'd have to give it out free to everyone whose skin hue got lost. That would mean more development time and more testing for a fairly minor new feature. Bang for the buck, if you will.

2> Being able to change your skin tone to a normal hue for your race just didn't seem cool enough to justify making it be a big-ticket purchase. This is just the skin tone equivalent of hair dye.

i like it - fixes a problem caused by a bug, pulls a little gold out of the game, and we get choices in its implementation. Sounds like a win-win to me. Nice move devs!:thumbup1:
