Invisible Items in EC?

Just tried out EC in the lats couple of day son my laptop and desktop and have the same issues... some items are invisible in the backpack or paperdoll slots and I can't find a fix or explanation for this :/ Anyone else having this issue?!

Sometimes you have to scroll down in the backpack to see something. For example, if someone gives you a bag in trade, it likely lands more towards the "middle" of the backpack than on top. The default background color to the paperdoll slots leaves something to be desired. I think some people have written a mod that lets you have a different background color that might make it easier to see what is equipped in each slot.

no it's not like that... items will flash into visibleness and then flash invisible... it's not the background color affecting it... they're are simply not there visibily.

Well that's just downright weird. How old are your computers? I put UO on an older laptop at work and OMG there were some maddening things going on with that. Just a thought?

I have had this happen a couple of times but could not reproduce it. but what i did was either refresh the pack or put it in list view..

you may try increasing or decreasing your graphics settings

When I use the EC, I see some of my house lockdowns blink - e.g., my fountains of life. Is that what you mean?

and sometimes a piece of my large forge will flash in and out..

I just went back to Classic until a new update for EC, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, checking other boards, etc etc. The laptop and desktop are recently new, both run WoW just fine, Fallout 3 just fine, and other games just fine. It just looks like there is nothing in my backpacks, unless an object is blinking as if its there then not or if a stack of something was there and all you can see are the numbers but not the objects.

*sigh* Oh well...

Ok one last idea I just had was check the UI scale slider and make sure its set at 1. some times having it lower can have strange effects on your packs and on the menu windows (for example if i lower mine it cuts some of the text out on the imbuing window )

my gloves and sleeves are invisable.. they dont show up in the paperdol and when in my pack i gotta goto list view, they wont have an icon, but say, spined leather gloves.

I believe that the devs are aware of this. It happens with me as well, and while simply logging off and on again doesn't always fix it, completely restarting the client does the trick.

Ahh yes... many is the time my guildmates look at me as if I'm mad when I shout "MY ARMS ARE MISSING!!!"

Now come to think of it, yes... I have a flashing soulforge too. Right, I'm going to put all these items up in the empty house I have next door and we'll have a Europa disco event... thingy... erm... spectacular!

There is a bug that causes you to have truly invidible items in your packs. The items are invisible in both clients, but its only noticeable in the EC grid view. (spots in the grid that just refuse to accept an item)

I had to empty my pack in 2D and call a GM who had go give me a new backpack to fix it.

Fun.

I have had a similar problem with the EC: In the Lurg cave, I was suddenly unable to pick up any more loot, and I couldn't leave the cave because it said I was dragging something. I logged out and by the time I got back in, somebody had pulled Lurg down and I was dead, so I don't know if just logging out would have fixed the problem; as a ghost, anything I had been dragging would automatically be dropped. I have also noticed that there are some spots in the containers that don't appear to have an item in them, but won't accept an item. That problem doesn't appear to be solved by logging out.

georgemarvin2001: You have the phantom item problem just like I did. Empty your pack and call a GM saying that you have invisible items in your pack and would like them removed.

They know of this issue and will fix it 'quickly'.

Ran into this a few times. Despite being invisible though I could still see the item properties and drag them to my paperdoll where they became visible. Also regularly had gloves etc turning into fubar square textures and gumps not clipping.

I don't think I've encountered anything thus far on this PC - I've noticed a few glitches that were present on my NV 9800 vanished on the ATI 4850..
