So many people hate box houses.

What does it matter? A lot of people just use houses for storage.

Tamed pets that haven't been renamed after a month get named to something cutesy, like Mister Pebbles or Princess Lulu.

Every once in a while, when running over a solen hole it triggers a spawn of pink bunny rabbits instead of solen.

An "I'm feeling lucky!" option for recall (a la Google) where you randomly get recalled anywhere on the map.

On halloween all worn armor upon log in will be hued orange or black. Red/white/blue for north american shards on July 4th, etc. April fools - all worn armor will be sent to the bank so you log in to a naked character. :p

Eating more makes your character's paperdoll fatter. Not eating makes it skinnier.

GM tinkers can make cuckoo clocks - tame a cuckoo to combine with the clock, will animate the cuckoo popping out every ingame hour when placed (I've wanted this for years!)

Characters with 0 luck will slip more often (like with an icy patch), will have rain follow them, and will get randomly injured. Characters with high luck will happen upon treasure, will get surprises in their banks/mailboxes here and there, etc.

Players with the throwing skill can launch cactuses and other prickly or dangerous plants at their foes. Throwing vines will act like nets to trip up opponents, etc.

1 in 100 mirrors crafted by glassblowers have a chance to be sparkly and titled "a magic mirror", and when placed on a wall and the right words are used will relay commentary.

GM carpenters could craft puppets and stages. Enough puppets + a stage will create a marionette show (an animated puppet stage). Each marionette show will have it's own look and a random title from a list.

Tinkers could create doodads, doohickeys, bits, etc, in addition to gears and axles and all the other parts they can make. Adding them to each other could create contraptions. Contraptions could be used to mechanize things we do by hand now (such as a mining contraption, or a potion making contraption).

They would require some sort of energy source and regular maintenance, if you let them go too long they'll blow a gasket and smoke will billow out of the pipes. The contraption would mimic the skill of it's operator, so if you were an alchemist and wanted to grind potions you could set up 5 potion makers and then maintain them as they ground out potions.

Hrm guess thats more wishful thinking that whimsy. :)

I think all pets above 60 Intelligence should name THEMSELVES.

Don't you think that powerful dragon that has supposedly lived hundreds of years would be a bit ticked that you named him "Flower" and not "Razer of Worlds"?

How about npcs and monsters being able to be friends/fall in love with your characters if you greet them often enough.

What red wouldn't love a band of groupies outside their house, begging for him/her to come out and kiss them (or whatever you do with lizardmen).

"artists" and "sculptors" should randomly wander around and drop various parts of their work. Some of the pieces are just garbage, others can be combined together to make good art. If they "like" you, they will offer to make a sculpture/picture of you for a reasonable amount and the materials.

A Hansel and Gretal escort should spawn; they ask to be taken to a "cottage in the woods". You take them there, it's a gingerbread cottage with a witch inside. After a few seconds inside, they come out and ask to be taken back "home". If you refuse, the witch gives you a nice treat for leaving her her supper.

Every once in a while a blue, man-sized box appears at random; one or more colorful clothed men and women come out of a door in it, wander around doing odd things (potentially tripping certain events or opening up rabbit holes, etc.) Sometimes they'll talk to characters in the area, asking about "Timelords" and other such nonsense. Finally they wander back into the box and then it disappears.

The ability to click a house sign and set the house to hidden, all you would see is the house footprint. This would hide ugly/box houses, the massive numbers of vendors some have that cause lag and or the massive numbers of barkeeps/parrots some houses have that cause lag.

I've always wanted to sit down.... anywhere..... on the ground.

Lie down on a bed or the ground.

Heck just to sit on the bed would be a huge improvement.

I miss seeing my dragon flying... I don't care about riding it .... though it would be nice... but seeing it fly again behind me that's a dream of mine.

I'd like to have things hanging from my "ceiling" like you can in the Sims.

I'd like to see luck effect more things. Like if you have high luck you can be a better lockpick.... More chances of getting good stuff.... like a lumberjack with high luck could find the best trees... and get more gems..... same with a miner... or fisherman.

I'd still like to have the ability to brew things like wine, ale, and such... would be better if you had to use a combination of cooking and alchemy to do it.

I'd like to see the ability to form a true "town" or community where there are NO npcs.... and player sell their wares themselves. No more barkeeps, no more tailors..... no more butchers.... no more blacksmiths.... no Innkeepers... only players serving other players. If you wanted to run a blacksmith shop you would need X amount of supplies... and so many "signatures" of others who are willing to support you. Same with other shops.... and then your given a "shop". That's been a dream of mine for a long, long time....

Oh and to make that happen.... gardening becomes a true skill.... and you can plant things for mandrake, ginseng, bloodmoss and nightshade. Alchemists would make sulfuric ash from things obtained by miners. Black pearls would be something fishermen find and gather. And of course...... you get spiders webs from spiders... having wolf spider pets would be helpful...

As well grave dust comes from undead, mining in graveyards, dragons blood of course comes from dragons, nox crystals would come from mining in the swamps or something. I think you get the idea.

But I'd like to see a return to when players did things for eachother... I'd like to see the loss of the repair contract... and a return to going to a smith or tailor... I still say there should be a "box" of sort at the shops that allow a player to come up place his item to be "repaired/imbued/enhanced" into the box, chose a craftsman to do the work.... and arrange payment. Then the crafter can do the work right there in sight of the owner. Only the owner can remove the item... and only the work requested can be performed. It would work somewhat similar to the current system for vendor contracts.

Finally I'd like to see Vendors done away with. Someone has stuff to sell they do it themselves. Face to face.

Crude I know but I'm sick to death of Luna.... and I miss getting repairs at West Brit Smithy.

1) Musicians with a high enough skill can each use a different instrument to form a band (party). The leader selects a tune and the band plays together... Borrow a little from SWG here and if they play in a tavern or player house, other players who are in the vicinity get "inspired", which adds a Luck bonus for a period of time.

2) A roleplay shard with RP police. ;)

Personal vending is something I'd like to see.
I know it's possible to stand at a bank and tell people what you're selling, over and over again.
What I'd prefer would be to be able to "deploy" your character into a little vendor stall, anywhere within a guardzone, and to be able to have a sort of vendor inventory. Maybe even with the ability to set up as a little auction, requiring that the player bidding has the gold available, and subsequently reserving that gold, making it unspendable until they're either outbid and get it returned, or they win and it's fully removed.

At the root of it, is that is allows casual sellers to have a vendor in a high traffic area when they need one, without the need to maintain one when they don't.
Also, it could allow (with a little adjustment) people to set up vendors in places like the Doom Guantlet.

All the vendors in Luna Unionize.

Vendor costs in Luna initially double. Then, every month you have a vendor in Luna, his rates go up 10%. You can't take down vendors, except in reverse order of seniority (newest 1st), and once the most senior vendor is taken down, the house must be dropped before any new scabs, err...I mean vendors can be hired.

For 15 minutes every hour, vendor is unavailable due to mandatory breaks written into their contract.

2% chance each day that all vendors in the house go on strike. nobody, not even vendor owners can access the vendor for 24 hours unless a new contract is negotiated for 25% of the value of the goods on the vendor. 20% chance that strike may also effect houses immediately adjacent to house on strike.

But that doesn't mean they have to be ugly. My storage house is as nice as the one I hang out in most. Honestly It only takes like 20 minutes to make a borring non boxy house.

Brewing....*sighs* :(

Musicianship+begging=entertainer.Chance for getting better "loot" from npc's.

Custom Musicianship. Allow us to set our own notes that the instruments play, and not the same tune over and over....and over.

Really,I would like to see much more added to the game that has nothing to do with hacking and slashing(pvp and pvm). I do realise that the Devs will not add anything to the game that doesn't give a "return" on their investment, and thats too bad. There is so much unrealised potential to this game still,if only the Devs would just take a step back and look. I wish I knew game coding more than I do,so I could go work for EA/Mythic and show them, from a long-time players perspective, what would be great (imho) for the game to have that has nothing to do with pvp or champ spawns.

The ability to use Herding on any non-pet followers.

The ability to jump.

Sunrise and sunset, longer nights, seasons.

Tides, sea temperature, fishing hotspots that change about dependent on time of day, the moon phases, and other environmental effects.

Access to all the various character animations, usable as emotes. You should be able to fake a punch, faint, glance about, etc.

And more complex/real AI monsters and NPC's, instead of just randomly spawning out of thin air, have small burrows/huts etc for all kinds of critters, let them spawn out of their homes and then walk around. Not aimlessly wandering about but actually doing something and when killed have "real" loot instead of a sparrow dropping an axe on it's corpse. NPC's should go to bed at night, instead of just appearing here and there out of nothing.

Make sunset/sunrise longer instead of 1 sec... how would an UO sunrise look like? An entire planet flipping in 1 second to face the sun? Would be nice if it were more gradual, for those not using nightsight.

Being able to hitch a cart to a horse and have the horse pull it.

Being able to load said cart with crates, furniture, chests, etc.

Being able to axe those items and have the contents spill out all over the road.

Being able to lockup thieves and murderers at least until their friends can break them out or bail them out.

edit: almost forgot...have the horse and cart be the only way to move your belongings from house to house.

Hmm speaking in terms that these will most likely NOT be implented because the mechanics of the game make it impossible, here goes.

1) dig our own basement using a combination of skills one of course being
mining and perhaps stonecrafting etc.

2) Then after we dig our basements were able to dig a tunnel. The tunnel
would lead you to a predestined location (dungeons, secret locations
only obtainable via a tunnel. Your tunnel will only go so far before you
reach your destination. After server up the tunnel will collaspe or they
could last longer depending on the players opinions.

3) Ships with the ability of having cannons and even fight on Trammel if its
agreed upon by both owners of their ships. Only cannons can be used to
harm the other player/vessel, if you die your ship sinks along with your
possesions and insurance value of your wearables. You are dead and will
be transported to the city of your choice and can get reserrected. It's
possible to engage multiple ships or even have guild wars in fleets.

those for a start

I would like to have a vendor crate. You could carry it around with you with your wares in it, place it on the ground where you are standing and people would be able to click on it to buy items inside. The box could only be picked up by the owner, and would go "poof" if the owner wanders more than 6 tiles or so away.
