Necro/Warrior template advise

I just returned to UO after a couple years off. All my knowledge is outdated and I'm looking for some advice on this template. It will be for PvM (i'm no where near PvP yet). Not looking to solo dark father (not yet at least), prob toughest critter I will be looking at later on is a balron (if the template works)

Current unmoded stats
Str 100
Dex 105
Int 40

Template
Fencing 115
Tac 110
Poisoning 100
Necro 110
SS 100
Alchemy 100

Leaves 85 pts to play with. I could drop the alchemy for a better skill (it was on from before). I do want to keep poisoning, I really love that skill.

I'm looking at using Vamp form and curse weapon for healing, maybe parasitic poison also, and SS for quick heals. My weap has HSL to help keep my stam up. I've already started gathering equipment I have:
Conjurer's trinket
Mace and shield glasses
Crimson Cincture
Cloak of power
Jackal's collar
The rest is runic leather armor

Playstyle is currently (and mainly) solo. Would like to do some hunts later on but dont know how supportive this character can be.
Thanks for any advice.

Poisoning is a waste of skill points in PvM as any creature worth fighting will simply cure themselves over and over again. You'd be better off reading up on the Sampire template and going that route.

Ooo, lets see, there isn't too much reason (that i know of) to have Necro at 110, 100 should be good enough.
The extra points i'd put into bushido, parry may or may not be necessary, unsure exactly how much good it does.
No idea how well the poisoning works.
Another option would be to add chivalry on there. It's not too hard to keep karma up to a decent level.

Will you be using FC/FCR with that template? If you have FC/FCR you can use Chivalry healing spells to good effect, only problem is you'd need 3-4/6 casting, which, if you're pure PvM, doesn't have much benefit transferred to other areas. (HCI/DCI would be better suited for PvM)

Don't forget that half the benefit of having GM+Necro/SS is you can switch between Wraith form and Vamp form as the situation requires, so you'll want practice using both. Also, you should practice with the "feint" special attack, especially with Wraith form since you wont have a swamp dragon for the 20% damage reduction. Think generally you use it every 4th hit, but i'm not completely practiced with it.

I can see poisoning as a waste for magic critters, it works good for ogre lords and the such. To bad because that use to be my fav skill years ago. I'm trying to max HCI/DCI and I have 2 fc right now with jewels, 4 with jewels, shield, weap. I was wanting to try and stay away from the standard shampires but I mayhave to go with it due to my solo hunts.

The one thing i did notice was the big jump in heal pot with 80% enhance, but dont think the 100 pts for alchemy is worth it on a warrior.

Chiv looks to be the way to go with warriors. I may have to invest some points into it.

Thanks for the advice.

Actually.. I have an alchy necro mage that I do some PvM with. Ever seen how hard an explode pot hits with 80% EP and your target corpse skinned? It can do some massive damage and takes no mana to use. The only limitation is how many you can carry in your pack.

If you're going with FC/FCR, remember:
Necro is capped at 2/6
Chiv is capped at 4/6
Spellweaving is capped at 4/6
Ninjitsu is capped at 4/6

That is great advice. I was trying for 4/6 for the necro but I guess I can back off some. It seems that I need to read up more on necro.

Hm, not much use for Necro spells in PvM if you're planning on having chivalry. Wither-spams are nice, but you wont be able to be a full caster if you're going to have chivalry.
If you're planning mostly on using curse weapon, just cast protection from a scroll and you'll never be interrupted.

I still have a chiv type character i use to play before quiting. I started the necro before quiting to try something different. So far from what i've played since getting back the chiv is a more efficient and easier warrior type to play. It maybe that I havent learned how to play the necro yet but so far I can take out bigger critters with the chiv.

I actually tried this on TC a couple of weeks ago. I made a wraith-form dexer that loaded the monster with lethal poison, bleed, and strangle, and then spammed the **** out of the monster using AI.

Sadly, it wasn't nearly as effective as my sampire on Ches, and my sampire has pretty bad gear. DOTs just don't do enough damage to mobs relative to their insane amount of hp. I would advise against a PvM nox dexer.
